The Jensen NVX225 utilizes a crystal-clear, brilliant full-color, 3.5-inch touch-screen display to show you at a glance where you are, and where you need to go. This unit provides you with turn-by-turn voice prompts, in selectable female and male voices, that let you know in advance where you need to turn without you having to ever take your eyes off the road. The NVX225 features route calculation based on user-input preferences, with automatic re-routing when you deviate from your planned route, whether it is by accident, or by choice. This navigator also features over three-million POIs (Points of Interest) so you can easily find what you need wherever you are at, as well as displaying your estimated time of arrival, distance left to travel, time left to go, and miles per hour, all of which is calculated automatically.
Jensen's NVX225 portable navigator has a built-in SiRF Star III GPS receiver for the ultimate in accuracy, and comes fully embedded with complete maps for the United States, as well as including a CD with maps of Canada. This unit has an internal, 1 GB flash memory drive for downloading additional maps or POIs, and a secure digital card slot for expandable memory options. The NVX225 runs on a rechargeable, lithium-ion battery for the longest possible run time and no-memory effect, and comes with a USB cable for both fast data transfers and recharging your battery. The Jensen NVX225 touch-screen navigator includes a cradle that features a built-in speaker, and comes with an easy-to-use windshield mounting bracket and a 12-volt car power adapter. This Jensen navigation system also comes with a handy carrying case to protect your investment between trips, and is backed by a manufacturer's one-year warranty.

I did a little research before I bought this unit, but not enough.. I saw the unit had old maps, went to the Jensen/Audiovox website and saw new maps were due out, so I bought the unit.
Now, the due-date has come and passed, and still no map updates almost a year past the original due date, and on the website the say to check back for "availability and cost".. Why would I EVER want to PAY for new maps to update a GPS I just bought, when other manufacturers offer them for free?!?!?!
The IGO software is pretty good, same as Mio, but it has a bug as well, the "Dashboard" compass points backwards for east/west.. (north/south is ok)
Other than the maps issue I love the device, it has a ton of options.. (and running WinCE .net 4.2, lots more stuff can be added via the SD/mmc card slot...) Was this review helpful?

for the price, it is well worth it. A great unit, works just as well as those $500 units; also the "Points of Interest" feature is great; helps you locate the nearest gas staton, restaurant (any style), hotel, etc. Note to manufacturers: should revise the gas feature to find the nearest gas station, any brand. As it is now you need to select a brand like Exxon, etc. and there are 16 or so of them. Was this review helpful?

the product works well enough to ge around, is a little stubborn when you deviate from the course and it needs to re route, for example:I live in South FL and I was traveling to my brother's in Spring Hill FL, (about a 3 1/2 hour trip) the GPS was telling me to take I-75 and I know is faster if you take the Turnpike, but even though I was 1 hour into the trip it was still telling me to turn around and take I-75. other than that is been very useful in finding adresses, have not gotten lost yet,even though it might take a little longer route as it sticks to main Highways and roads and ignore back streets.
