Go from North America to Europe without loading more maps with the transatlantic nuvi® 370. This pocket sized Personal Travel Assistant comes with built-in street maps for both continents, making traveling abroad so easy. Similar to the 360, nüvi 370 also ncludes a travel kit and hands-free calling then takes it to the next level with more maps and an integrated traffic receiver.

Navigate with Ease

nuvi 370 comes ready to go right out of the box with preloaded City Navigator® NT street maps for both North America and Europe, including a hefty points of interest (POIs) database with hotels, restaurants, fuel, ATMs and more. Simply touch the color sunlight-readable screen to enter a destination, and nuvi takes you there with 2D or 3D maps and turn-by-turn voice directions. It even announces the name of exits and streets so you never have to take your eyes off the road. In addition, nuvi 370 accepts custom POIs, such as school zones and safety cameras, and lets you set proximity alerts to warn you of upcoming POIs. It also supports configurable vehicle icons — fun, customized car-shaped icons in a variety of colors that show your position on the map.

Make Hands-free Calls

Talk about worry-free driving. nuvi 370 integrates Bluetooth® wireless technology with a built-in microphone and speaker, so you can pair it with your compatible Bluetooth® phone. Then talk hands-free through the 370 while staying focused on the road. Simply dial numbers with nuvi's touchscreen keypad to make a call. To answer calls, just tap nuvi's screen and speak directly into its built-in microphone. You can also easily look up and dial numbers from your personalized phone book or from your phone’s call history log. With 1-touch dialing for points of interest (POIs), you can conveniently call ahead for reservations or information.

Avoid Traffic Tie-ups

Steer clear of traffic with nuvi 370's integrated FM TMC traffic receiver. Receive alerts about traffic tie-ups and road construction that lie ahead on your route. Then simply touch nuvi's screen to view traffic details or detour around the problem area.

Go Beyond Navigation

Navigation is just the beginning. nuvi 370 includes many “must have” entertainment and travel tools including an MP3 player, audio book player (subscription to Audible.com required), JPEG picture viewer, world travel clock with time zones, currency converter, measurement converter, calculator and more. The MP3 player lets you browse music by artist, album, and/or song. Optional audio books may be purchased from Audible.com which features over 70,000 hours of audio programs. Optional software on plug-and-play SD cards for language translation, detailed travel guide and savings programs allow you to customize nüvi for your travel needs.

nuvi 370: It's a whole nu way to travel.

5 of 5 Excellent Value Tuesday, November 04, 2008
Ram from Milpitas, CA
What a product!! It works perfectly out of the box, has cool features including Europe Maps, Bluetooth, MP3 player and SD card compatibility. The bluetooth upgrade by Garmin which I really appreciated, made my device work with my new Samsung Blackjack II phone. The ease of using the phone book and other features on my phone right from my GPS device was too cool. Yes, the pronounciations are a bit off when you travel to Europe, but that's understandable. The information screen which gives you access to all stats on your driving is great for a stats junkie like me. The camera detector helps avoid tickets, which in itself pays for this device even in the short run. It has good auto switch to night mode, although I would have appreciated not having the dialog box which hides the map when driving! The satellite signals can take long to acquire for the first time in the day, especially if it is cloudy or you start from an underground garage. The startup time is also a tinge annoying. The retractable antenna gets rid of some of the portability, but is not too intrusive. Overall, an excellent bet!

5 of 5 Really excellent choice if you travel overseas Tuesday, August 19, 2008
A Customer from Nyon, Switzerland
I chose this unit because it is a Garmin and it has Europe maps--I travel back and forth a bit. I cannot think of any problems of significance (for example, it occasionally misses a round-about in Italy).
The street name pronouciations are sometime halarious: "Take exit, on right, towards Dijon", and the last work is pronounced DIH-jun (as opposed to the French dee-JAHN). Changing the language to French is really a hoot--it pronounces all the French names right, and I get a little practice listening to a good French speaker.
This unit has taken us all around Western Europe without a hitch! When we get tired of the highways, we exit on a promising road, tell the unit to avoid highways, and wander about!
Day-do-day driving is enhanced since it tells you when to expect to arrive (cell phone conversation: "I honey. I'll be home at 19:08.").
I love the SD card and the MP3 player. I have set this up with PODNOVA.com to give me podcasts--it is almost as easy as my iPod (but not quite).
You gotta trust it, though. It sometimes directs you on roads that are pretty meager, but it always gets you there. (You can tell it to avoid unpaved roads, but there are a lot of paved, one-lane/two-way roads in France. We call then "Chemin de Vache" ("Cow Path" -- everything sounds better in French.)
If you need Europe maps, this is a great choice. If not, I would still recommend Garmins--you pay a lot for the maps!

5 of 5 Easy to use and good value Tuesday, July 15, 2008
A Customer from Illinois, USA
This GPS is completely intuitive to use. I have yet to look at the instruction manual (which is provided only on a CD). I took it out of the box, turned it on and started using it. It even had a pretty well-charged battery right out of the box. This is my first GPS. I bought it to use on a recent trip to Ireland. I will never travel again without one. It took us everywhere we wanted to go and was only confused once in some construction around the Dublin airport. A map would have been no better, since the new construction would not show up on a map either. It has all sorts of interchangeable plugs for the charger, which works on 110 and 220 v, so it is great for travel. The pronunciations on some of the voice prompts were a little weird on the little lanes in Ireland, but I could not pronounce them either. It was strange though that it didn’t know how to pronounce Limerick. It kept saying Lime Rick as opposed to Lim Rick. I am very content with it and recommend it. I only can think of three small complaints - one, the battery life is shorter than I had hoped, which of course is only a problem when walking around. It recharges quickly when back in the car. Two, there were very few shops and attractions preloaded for Ireland. It is much better here in the States, and might be better in England or on the continent, but the Ireland info was a bit lacking. I was not looking for it to suggest places, just show us how to get there, so it was no problem for me, but if I had been expecting it to tell me where to find groceries it would not have been much help. I tried once and it told me the nearest Tesco was in England when in fact there was one just up the road in Galway. Finally, it does take a bit of time to locate satellites when first turned on.

5 of 5 Satisfied Monday, January 07, 2008
A Customer from Virginia
This is my first GPS. The reason I bought nuvi 370 is that I plan to visit Europe soon. Otherwise, I will just get a basic nuvi 350. It comes with the latest map of both NA and Europe. Yes, there is no need to ask for a map update. On a second thought, this is really an expensive product, I wish its price will be more reasonable. The biggest con is that it acquires sat slowly. Normally, it will take about a minue also. Also, loading map is slow too. But, other than that, this is a good product so far. My suggestion is that if you do not need Europe map, you have get a more price/value GPS unit other than 370.

5 of 5 Travel Companion in Your Pocket Sunday, January 06, 2008
Geraldt8 from Midway, NC
Tried a GPS add-on for my Pocket PC and deleted the software in six months; a few years later I bought a GPS mapping system from Delorme - and promptly sold it on Ebay. THIS one I keep! In just two months it's become as handy as my cell phone and I miss it just as much if I go out without it. WELL WORTH THE COST ON BUY.COM - the price here beat Amazon by over $100 and is the lowest I've found. All my holiday driving was much more enjoyable with the 370. When I hit traffic I just took ANY exit, ones I've never taken before, and let the unit recalculate the new route to my destination within seconds. It only messed up on new construction, which again was easily 'recalculated' away. The Audible book reader is a great way to pass the time on long trips when traveling alone; the player controls are simple and not too much to handle when driving. The Bluetooth functions are amazing. Best of all - it's battery powered: it can live in a pocket until you need it, and you have full functioning even away from any other power source for 4+ hours of constant use, more if you keep it off when you don't need it. ************** General comments: Since most mapping systems sold in North America are based on NavTeq data, I don't expect the maps included with any GPS system to be perfectly accurate. Given that, the feature set of the 370 continues to blow me away: - responsive touch screen interface; - well designed menu structure; - ability to store 500 favorite locations; - ability to quickly find points of interest, by category, around each favorite; - the Bluetooth interface is the best I've seen: the 370 auto-copied my cell's entire contact list and duplicates the hands free and voice dial features of my cell, plus it can dial point of interest numbers on the fly; - the audio quality is amazing from such a small box; - the FM travel hazard notice system works without a fuss and is actually useful. The included "travel kit" software includes a language guide in multiple languages that is pretty extensive and actually reads the phrases aloud, which other users have said was nice to have in Europe (must buy the add-on to get full data); a decent MP3 player; picture viewer (can serve as transfer storage from digicam if you keep an SD card in the slot); Audible audio book player (wonderful - it pauses playback to announce a road instruction, then starts replay half a dozen words back from the pause); world clock with five zones; easily updateable currency converter; measurement converter; simple calculator. The travel kit also offers a "Saversguide" that's essentially an electronic version of the FV Entertainment coupon book for U.S. only, and a "Travel Guide" which is pulled from the Fodor's books (and doesn't get good reviews from users. The one downer I've found with this unit.) I bought the 370 rather then the 360 in anticipation of a trip to Europe this summer, since the 370 is also loaded with complete European maps and POIs. The full European map set is a $200+ add-on, so buying the 370 with it pre-loaded saves a bundle over buying a 350 or 360. If the thing does as well in Europe as it has locally, I'll have to watch for pickpockets from within my own travel group!!

5 of 5 Never leave home with it! Tuesday, January 01, 2008
Mark Noel from Henderson, NV
If the name wasn't already taken, Buy.com should be Best Buy. I purchased the Garmin nuvi 370 from Buy.com. It arrived 2 days earlier than I expected and is EVERYTHING I wanted in a GPS. Bluetooth, both US and Europe maps, ability to load my own POI, with millions already loaded. We were on our way to LA when we realized that we had left the wines we were bringing for the party at home. Punched in a Beverages and More, found it right away and gave us the ability to add this as a waypoint. It was perfect. I will make sure I never leave home with it.

5 of 5 A good solid unit Tuesday, January 01, 2008
DShah from Medina, Ohio
This is my fifth Garmin unit (2 Nuvi 350, 1 Nuvi 660, 1 Nuvi 370 and Garmin GPS III). That tells why I keep buying upgrading the same brand. The user interface is very intuitive. I have yet to open the intructional manual. Very good maps and directions spoken by a voice (selectable - Karen-Australian accent is my favorite). I travel around the country and sometimes overseas. For 99% of the time Garmin units has guided me to my destination. It has removed a lot of stress from driving. Now, I can concentrate on driving. The extras with Nuvi 370 are all worth it. If you bought the European maps and the traffic antenna/transmitter separately, it would cost another $280. The bluetooth phone feature pairs effortlessly with your BT enabled phone. I have two phones and both are paired with this unit. You wont go wrong buying this unit. A good MP3 player. I have not used the language feature and other extras, but they all are thoughful additions if you ever need to use them in the future. An absolute bargain. I wholeheartedly recommend it!

5 of 5 Well worth the investment Wednesday, December 26, 2007
Mark from Staten Island, NY
The Garmin Nuvi 370 is a fantastic deal here at Buy.Com, and well worth the investment. I had an older Garmin that I traded up from to the 370, so I was used to GPS units. This one is a lot nicer in that it tells you the street names so that you don't have to look at the map as you are driving, a nice safety feature. I also loved that it has maps of Europe, which came in handy when I went to Hungary in September. (Hint: if you don't need European maps get the Nuvi350.) One other feature this has over the older units is the ability to load personal POI (Points Of Interest). I now have all the Starbucks, Dunkin Donuts and Subaru Dealers in the United States and Canada! You never know when you'll need that caffeine fix:-).

5 of 5 GREAT GPS Unit Friday, December 07, 2007
A Customer from Rio Rico, AZ
I find this GPS very easy to use and set up. A little disappointed in that there isn't a written user manual, only CD. I live in a rural area and was pleasantly surprised to find that it had a fairly recent map of my area. Somewhat disappointed in the lack of recent maps for adjacent areas. Streets that have been in place for a couple of years aren't depicted, but that's a minimal problem if you're familiar with the area. Some of the directions given by the voice method and routeing are a little awkward and inaccurate. Overall, I'm very pleased with the little unit. It even locates satillites indoors!

5 of 5 Superb Navigator! Friday, October 12, 2007
fredrosen from Philadelphia, PA
This is an absoutely superb navigator! It is easy to use, gives excellent verbal directions when on route, can be used both on & off roads, has a good battery life, and usually has the address we are looking for in it's databank. It did route us through a non-existant street in Montreal, Quebeque in Canada, but has otherwise been right on the mark every time. The FM Traffic reports are usually good, though you have to search them manually (they are listed in order of distance from your present location)and alter your routing manually, as they are not automatically incorporated into the routing of the unit. (We live just north of Philadelphia, PA.) We have not yet used this unit in Europe, but I have checked addresses & POIs (Points of Interest) in France (I am pretty familiar with many areas) & it has been right on target. I highly recommend this unit.

5 of 5 Works wonderfully! Monday, October 08, 2007
Mark from Staten Island, NY
I upgraded to the Nuvi370 from a Garmin StreetPilot 2610 because I needed maps of Europe, as well as it being more compact. The Nuvi fits in a pants poclet making it convenient when I jsut travelled to Hungary. The biggest complaint I have is I had to buy extended maps of Hungary because the Nuvi only comes with basics for that country. On the other hand I was able to plot a course from Budapest to my friends in Surrey, England! Also love the bluetooth capability of linking with my cell phone at home, as well as loading custom POI's. Now I know where all the Starbucks are! Well worth the investment and the price here was great!

5 of 5 Garmin 370 Tuesday, September 25, 2007
A Customer from England
Very pleased with the functionality of the 370 - walking and driving modes. Great deal of info like local attractions etc. Tendancy to understimate travel times, showing time of arrival only, not jurney duration. No regrets so far but not accessed all of the functions.

3 of 5 Nuvi not up to Streetpilot Tuesday, September 25, 2007
A Customer from Chicago, IL
I have a Garmin Streetpilot which I have used for years and totally like. The Nuvi 370 (like the 350) is very nice in it's feature set and the size is terrific. However, the points of interest database is considerably less complete than the older one on the Streetpilot. For instance, when trying to find the location of a local store that the older unit finds without problem and that I know is in the vincinity, the Nuvi will frequently not report that location, but will show others many miles away. This is frustrating and causes me to use the locate function on my cell phone since I can't rely on the accuracy of the Nuvi. I have written Garmin about the poor content of the POI database and was told that is what they have to offer. I purchased a language guide and found that to be very good. On the other hand, I also purchased a "travel guide" for Europe and that is essentially worthless with almost no data that wasn't already available in the basic Nuvi database. In general, only partly satisfied and would look hard at other brands before making this selection if doing over. Most of my motivation for purchasing this unit was my prior experience with the older Garmin unit.

4 of 5 Good, Could be Better Monday, September 24, 2007
Jimmy from New York, NY
The Nuvii 370 worked exactly as promised, although I would have preferred: 1. Faster satelite uplink; 2. Faster reaction time; 3. Better car mounting options; and 4. Better quality speakerphone. Maybe I haven't learned all of its options yet, but an instantly available full map overview of the trip would be a nice feature to have. Currently, you would have to zoom out repeatedly to get a full map view. I bought mine for $452, so it was a good value. Not so good if at a much higher price.

5 of 5 Great GPS Friday, April 06, 2007
Andy from Oklahoma City, OK
This is my first GPS device for myself. I bought my parents a Lowrance iway500c which is an excellent in car device. But i needed a mobile device to take to italy with me. This thing does just about everything i expect from it. The screen is visible in direct sunlight, it is very intuitive and easy to use, and is extremely portable. The bluetooth cell phone connection works great, i just wish the audio quality was better. I have not had any freezing problems while using the bluetooth like i have read about, and i've made many calls with it. Overall i am extremely pleased with this device and would recommend it to anyone who asked.

5 of 5 Great unit for USA and Europe Monday, March 05, 2007
A Customer from Aurora, IL
I have had this unit for about a week, and so far it is completely intuitive to use and produces great directions. I have tested it on the route between my home and my work, which I have been driving for a very long time. It has found every route that I have found, based on the different criteia I entered (e.g., fastest versus shortest; avoid tollway+fastest, etc.).
The only problems I have with the unit are (a) I sure wish it cost less, and (b) it takes a while to find the satelites when you turn on the unit and start moving (like, as much as 2 minutes). When I turn on the unit on and wait in the car before moving, it seems to lock much faster.
I will (try to) update this review in a month when I return from Europe. We plan to drive around France, Switzerland and Italy.
