I couldn't be happier with this Zen MP3 player. It's still hard to believe that it is so small and can hold 8GB. I've been using it for more than 6 months now and have been completely satisfied. Of course, the headphones that come with it could be better, but I don't think any player comes with good headphones. It's not the sound quality, just the fact that they fall out of your ears when you're exercising. The ripping software is easy to use and has some good features like volume leveling, and an icon is added to Explorer that lets you manage your player very easily. The screen is vibrant and pictures look great on it. I would recommend this player to anyone who is looking for a great value on a quality product.

I chose this over an ipod b/c you don't have to buy a bunch of accessories. It comes with an FM tuner that gets great reception (better than the older Zen Micro I had...), a microphone, etc. The sound is great. The screen is small, but the unit itself is tiny. My only complaint is that it doesn't come with a wall charger.

I think the Zen V Plus 8 GB Multimedia Player is pretty spectacular. If only I had a time machine handy, I'd zip back to 1984 and make my Commodore 64 green with envy! It's really amazing what can be packed into something the size of a matchbox. I found it quite simple to record 95 albums (from CDs I own) from my computer's CD-ROM drive to the device. The recording process is pretty quick and the sound quality quite fine. Plus, I still have 25% of the memory remaining! The line input is nice to have as well, and its recording quality is pretty good too. Two helpful hints: 1) The device does not allow drag-and-drop within its system, but you can drag files from the player (via Explorer) onto your computer's hard drive and from there back to the player. In other words, basic organization of media files should be done from the desktop. Renaming and renumbering individual media files within folders can be done from the Zen V Series Media Explorer, but dragging-and-dropping files between folders within the device itself is prohibited. It took me a few frustrating minutes to figure that out (the user guide is, ironically, useless in this regard). 2) The software that comes with the device is easy to use (apart from what I just wrote above), but is licensed for only one computer, and if one doesn't have the optional power adapter one is obliged to recharge the device via the computer's USB port. So, if you'd like to be able to take the device on-the-road and recharge it away from home (without purchasing additional software licenses and installing the software on each computer you want to recharge from), you should consider purchasing the ZENPWWMT Power Adapter. In summary, I highly recommend the Zen V Plus 8 GB device. It's easy to use, stores a gazillion songs, has a bright and clear one-inch square screen and would seem like sorcery to anyone living before 1990.

I've had the 8 GB Zen V Plus for about a month now, and so far, so good. This player is tiny, fitting easily into the palm of my hand. Operating the Zen V Plus is very easy, with a joystick and two buttons in front controlling most functions. The Creative interface is also very user friendly and anyone who has ever used an MP3 player should have no problem with this player. The exterior of the player is made of a hard plastic, which seems very resistant to scratches. With 8 GB, you can hold up to 4,000 songs. Additionally, Creative has a Web site, (www.zencast.com) with tons of free podcasts and video. Soundwise, this is a Creative, so it sounds great. The equalizer has a number of pre-sets, plus the ability to customize. Also, there is an FM radio as well as the ability to do in-line recording. Battery life is advertised as up to 15 hours, not too great for a flash-based player. A large screen delivers sharp images, although I really don't use MP3 players to view movies of photos. All in all, this is a great player, and a great alternative if you don't want an IPOD or be tied to ITUNES or Apple's music format.

Overall I like this player. It's size finally fits my entire music collection. It's main buttons feel a bit flimsy, and it's 5 way button is a bit small, but that's reasonable considering I want a well priced and small player. Needing to always use a computer USB or buy a special charger to recharge the battery kind of sucks, but that's the worst part of the player.

The Creative Zen V Plus is a good basic MP3 player. However, if you are looking for accessories and add-ons, go with IPod. There are many more choices for listening devices, mobile hook-ups, external speakers/docking stations and enhancements.

Awesome product. I specifically targeted it because of it's record function. ipod doesn't. That is useless to me. Too many restrictions with an iPod. The creative has good sound quality and excellent speed for uploading as well as creating playlists. There are numerous ways to get music/photos and files into the mp3 player, you just pick your favorite. Overall I am very happy. One thing I will warn about; make sure you check the dimensions when ordering. it is much much smaller than it looks in the image on the site. very happy customer.

This is the 7th mp3 player from Creative that my family has owned and the best so far. I have video, photos and about 1,200 songs on it now. I bought it to listen to music so the 15 fps video limit is not a problem. The size of the photos is also an issue so if you want as much performance with video and photos then get the vision:m. I bought this to replace my Neeon that I dropped and crashed the 2.5 in 5gb hard disk. So I wanted the most flash memory Creative offered. The sound is very good and surprisingly so is the FM reception, better than the other models we have owned. It's small enough to fit into my watch pocket so I can use it when I work in the yard. It will show a small version of album art attached to the MP3 player when playing. The plastic casing feels a bit cheap, esp. compared to the Neeon with it's piano . The button feel is OK, not great but not as cheap like the case. I've only got 12 hours of the battery so far at one time, 3 hrs under Creative's estimate. I like the line-in and software to rip MP3s, but I don't like that you must use either their application or media player to move or sync files between my computer and the player. I like to drag and drop. Overall it is a much better value than the $50 more IPOD. Aside from the proprietary file structure and missing "gap killer" firmware I'm very happy with the Zen V Plus.
