I am not pleased with this item. It does not have an automatic feed which I expected and waste time to hold button to shred. Machine has jammed twice with less than 5 pcs of paper.

I was a little leary buying this shredder because of the cost but I don't regret it at all. It is a powerhouse! It can shred sealed envelopes with no problems, stacks of papers that are stapled together with ease! It is fairly quiet too and I love that it has a large bin. I was even surprised that it came with liners for the bin. There is no way someone can piece back together a document after this shredder gets a hold of it! ;)

I got this to replace a Fellowes PS80 that was noisy and plagued by clogging or clumping. It's funny, my PS55 at home is older yet going strong, whereas the PS80 started going downhill fairly quickly. I ended up having problems constantly, so looked around and figured I'd try the MS460. Setup took about 15 seconds, and away we went. The microshred gives you great security, and the machine is superquiet as advertised. So far, absolutely no clumping or clogging. I'd say at this point I'm a happy camper. I put 4 in for performance rating just because it's new, and I don't have a long performance history yet.

This shredder is great, powerfull (no fear to jam it no matter what I'll throw at it), and the most secure (cuts in 2x8 mm confetti). For extra security with credit cards, my advice is to forget about the dedicated slot (which cuts in 5/16" stripes), and just pass them through the paper slot to make confetti out of them. The extra security worth the money... It's quiet - I can use it with the baby sleeping in the next room without waking him up. In a couple years I'll get to appreciate the SafeSense, too - the shredder's top is a metal plate that stops the action when touched, so there's no fear of a child sticking it's fingers in the shredding slot. For personal use it's probably a bit large - I would have been happy with the smaller model, MS-450Cs, too, which is also less expensive.

This is a great shredder for a group setting focused on medium volume and high security. The fantastic thing is that it's more quiet than our printers. And, even though it's a 10-page per pass unit, the motor is powerful in that it maintains a constant speed whether you shred 1 or 10 pages. It's also super safe, as the motor shuts off if you touch anywhere on the faceplate, shredding ports, or anywhere else fingers could be in harms way. Another nice feature is the separate collector bin for the dedicated credit card/disk/CD strip shred slot.

This unit has peformed as well as I would have expected. We've really just started using it, but so far its consumed everything we've fed it with no glitches. Extremely quiet for such a powerful unit. The micro-cut is vastly superior to the cross cuts we've used before and I really like the fact it has a separate bin for the plastic parts (c/c, cd and diskettes).

This is far and above the BEST shredder I've ever purchased. Its micro shredding feature is superior to any standard cross-cut shredder. It's also extremely quiet. I can be on the phone without the shredding process causing interference. Other fabulous features: LARGE pull-out bin, CD and credit card shredding (with separate bin), and an ample supply of lubricating oil and shredder bags are included. My only suggestion for improving this already great product would be an inside storage space for extra bags and the lubricating oil. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this product, especially at Buy.com's excellent price and free shipping.

Pricey unit (except @ Buy.com) Large. Well designed. Separate basket for shredded cards & CD's. My last 2 shredder's were growlers. This unit whispers effortlessly through tasks. Residue finely shredded! Recommended.

I have had several paper shredders in the past but this has been the first one that has done what was advertised. Has been very quiet while still getting the job done. Does drop some of the fine shredding on the floor when taking out the tub, but this is expected with any shredder. Over all, I would rate this paper shredder as the best ever. UPS was a problem getting it here, but not the fault of Buy.com.

This is my first shredder. Its great. Its extremely quiet, which is important to me, and its quite powerful. It shreds paper to practically pulp. For my personal office needs its more than enough. Highly recommended.

I've had the machine about 2 weeks. I was very happy with how small the shreds of paper are. I feel much more secure with this product. The machine is very quiet compared to my last shredder (different brand)too. I would recommend buying it.

Very nice, quiet. Beats my old 80C hands down. Just wish it had more than a 10 minute continuous duty cycle (I save up all my shredding for batches.)

This our third shredder. 1st was a decent one (all metal gears), second was an inexpensive one and both were broken by my wife putting in too much at once. The Powershred MS-460Cs is a great improvement over both of our previous shredders. We have had it a couple of months and are still amazed and thrilled by it. It is powerful and has a large 6.4 gallon basket with a window to see when it is getting full. It shreds to small, high-security bits and is so quiet I shred stuff that doesn't need it just to use it. It has both back and forward buttons, an overheat indicator and the safety shutoff is a great comfort in case the grandkids go where they are not supposed to. It shreds 8 to 9 sheets of 20 lb bond easily and 10 or more sheets of lighter paper. It comes with a supply of cutter oil with instructions on it's use and some shredder bags. It will shred CD/DVDs, credit cards and floppy disks into a separate bin so the paper can still be recycled without plastic contamination. I Highly recommend this shredder.

I bought this to replace my strip cut shredder. This one works great. It is very quite. A great value.
