This recorder works great. It is easy to use and pics up audio very well. I like the ease of the buttons on the front, and the ability for it to shut down its display when not being used, but ability to pick right back up when the record button is hit again, so you don't miss a thing or half to restart the recorder. The only complaint I have is it isn't supported on Mac Software yet, and go figure, I have a Mac. Was this review helpful?

I have been using an Olympus VN-3600 for some time. It has 4 folders but I only use the "schedule" folder which is like a calander. I can record memos on the proper date; if I have an appoint on May 5 I can scroll over to the 5-1-07 date and enter the memo. My VN-3600 is wearing out. I went on line to the Olympus website and emailed their tech assistance to ask which model to buy to get the "schedule" folder. They advised me that their model VN-3100PC had this feature. I then went online and ordered the VN-3100PC from you. It does not have the "achedule" feature so I have no use for it. This is not the fault of Buy.com but of Olympus. I contaced their tech assist again and was told "oops!" They no longer make a digital voice recorder with the "schedule" feature. I did manage to find 3 of their old models with this feature online at Amazon.com, bought them, and they are en route to me now.
I'll give the VN3100-PC I bought from you to someone who can use it. Was this review helpful?

Depending on the reason you buy this for, your satisfaction may be different.
If all you want was to record a speaking voice, not caring if it sounds like a robot, then this is great. However, I bought this, hoping to improve my intonation, and I was disappointed. The speaker is loud and clear, but flat and does not reflect the depth of the intonation.

We purchased the digital voice recorder because it had plenty of memory for our purposes as well as allowing download to our computer. So far we have recorded a lecture, voice notes, and singing practice for later review. The sound quality has been good, and the ease of use is great. It is also compact and attractive looking so it can go anywhere. I highly recommend this recorder. Was this review helpful?
