I purchased two Webcams. One for my parents and one for myself. It has been the best gift I could have given. It was very easy to set up with no issues. My parents can see and hear my kids very clearly. It does a great job of staying focused with little to no jumping.

This Creative webcam and accompanying software are great! The picture is clear as a bell and it was simple to get up and running. There are some interesting programs that come with it, from Muvee (actually make simple movies) and Orb, which you can use as a remote security system.

This is a great product. The only thing I don't like about this product is the software - too many applications. After installation, there are 3 to 4 new icons on my desktop. Like all 640x480 resolution web cams, the motion is jerky as expected. The real problem was that loading the drivers supplied doubled my boot up time which is slow enough with Windows XP. I disabled the web cam and will only enable it when I wish to use it as I boot my computer many more times than I use a web cam.

Well, I mistakenly thought that webcams were plug-and-play by this point in time... but alas, this webcam doesn't play nice with my macintosh. I haven't looked very hard for open-source drivers or anything, though. So, I guess we'll see if it ever ends up working. There was a good price on it bringing it very low in cost which made me consider the product, however there were many steps of installation and once installed, using the product was actually more of a chore. It constantly took pictures even though the "Capture" option was not selected or pressed so it got a bit frustrating. If they would like more satisfaction out of their customers, I'd recommend them to make options to be done in a 2 step fashion because I did every option that could have been done and in 2 steps I should have been able to stop the camera from automatically snapping pictures. And possibly I could have found a faulty product as well, so who knows!? All in all, decent for the price. Was this review helpful?

This is a very easy-to-use webcam that works well for simple video sharing. I've used it with Skype with good results and the still photos are decent. So far, most web cameras that are high-resolution and use the faster USB 2.0 bus have been very expensive. Not so for the Creative Cam Video IM Pro. Native resolution is 640x480 so, while it isn't super high resolution it's about the right bandwidth for today's high-speed internet connections. The faster USB 2.0 connection allows for more data to stream into your computer so the video can be more quickly color-corrected and auto-panned. It really does zoom in on your face by tracking your eyes and nose (it does this via software, by cropping and zooming the picture).
Several special effects have my kids wearing masks, bug eyes, lion masks, and wearing Slash's hair, hat, and guitar. It's a neat gimmick that uses the same technology as the auto-tracking feature.
The software is unobtrusive and easy to use for the most part though remembering to click the chevron-shaped icons to "pull down" extra options isn't immediately obvious.
