5 of 5 Great Buy! Want to buy more! Friday, April 17, 2009
A Customer from Clearwater, NE

I bought 3 (refurbished) for my children for christmas, and 1 for myself. Greatest buy I've ever made on an MP3 player! So easy to use my 7 yr old got it right away and then showed me some cool features. I've had no problems so far, I use MMJB to load songs onto it. I'm looking to buy 2 more when they go on sale again!

4 of 5 c250 sandisk mp3 player Sunday, November 30, 2008
John from Queen Creek, Arizona
I got this refurbished for $14.99, with free shipping from buy.com. Great deal. It works well with Rhapsody's subscription service. However from what I can tell, it's version 2, so rockbox won't work, I've tried various ways and haven't been able to install rockbox. Also, many times I couldn't get my computer to see the device as an MTP player, but rather a USB storage device. Had to mess with that quite a bit to get it to work. The sound quality is decent, but my Sony player NWZ-S615F sounds much better. But then, I spent about $60 for the Sony player. I'm back to using the Sony because of the sound quality. But I do like the fact that I can add on additional memory to put more music on the C250, than I can on the Sony. Great price, decent sound, well worth the money.

4 of 5 Good MP3player Thursday, July 10, 2008
Joanna from Lancaster, Pa.
I received this MP3player for Christmas, and it usually works great. It has good sound quality, and is very easy to use. I have only had two problems with it- twice it has froze, but after awhile, it went back to normal. (Of course, the battery was low, but it charges fairly quickly.) I am also having some trouble with playing certain music on it. When I try to play the songs, it just skips them. (There are maybe 12 -15 songs it won't play.) Other than that, it is a great player.

5 of 5 Nice Product Sunday, July 06, 2008
A Customer from Fort Dix NJ
I bought this for my wife and she absolutly loves it. She said it was the first product that she has recieved that she didn't have to read the book to figure out. I myself have another model of sansa and I love it also. It's the perfect price and you can't find a better deal anywhere else. I highly recomend also buying the action jacket also from this site because it is another great deal.

2 of 5 If you want a piece of crap this is your item Tuesday, May 13, 2008
Shelley from San Diego, CA
This was my first MP3 player and I was so excited to get it. It was super easy to use and I got songs downloaded on it pretty easily. Life seemed good until one day the thing wouldn't shut off. I had to let it run out of batteries and then charge it up again to use it again. I thought this was a one time thing. But no ... from that day on it pretty much happened all the time. So although it was a great deal and easy to use it lasted less then a year and to me that is not a bargin. Buyers beware. Maybe you won't have the same bad luck that I had on this product.

3 of 5 If you want cheap, this is it. Tuesday, May 13, 2008
Bob W. from Memphis TN
Pros: - 2gb onboard 2gb expansion Cons: - Screen contrast, not easy to read - Cannot easily setup playlists - Battery life is poor - Non-standard cable Purchsed two from Buy.com. One is still working while the others headphone jack broke internal to the device. This isn't the first SanDisk player where I have had a headphone issue. The cable is non-standard so if something happens to it then you're hosed. I probably will never buy another SanDisk MP3 player again. Save yourself some time and go ahead and get an iPod, Apple got it right!

1 of 5 Don't buy this!!! Tuesday, April 29, 2008
A Customer from Kansas City, MO.
I had this mp3 player for 4 months before it decided to die. Just like all my other Sandisk MP3 players. I just had never bought one myself. They were gifts. I tried to do the old RMA process to get a replacement while I shopped for a new model, but all I got from Sandisk was canned email responses of steps to take to "reset" the player. AFter I reset it, it did power on again, but it would not do anything else. No files when hooked to PC, would not play files, would not play radio. Now, I am firm believer in buying anything that is NOT i-anything. So, I now have a MS Zune and its fantastic!! Already had it for 4-5 months not a single issue. Its a whole new world.

1 of 5 SANSA 250: Failed Thursday, April 24, 2008
A Customer from toms river nj
I bought 2. One failed within 2 weeks...caput! zip! It was used less than 15 hours. Please read the unfavorable reviews as well as the good...my experience is not unique. The unit was very good WHILE it worked, then nothing. The second I gave as a gift and is still being used. All or nothing. Caveat emptor

2 of 5 Do not buy Sansa MP3 Players Thursday, March 20, 2008
pipermaz from Riverside, California
I would not recommend this product or any of Sansa's players because, according to the service rep I talked to, they all work the same. It has no capability to organize songs by albums or playlists. The only way to supposedly set up playlists is to use Windows Media Player 10 or 11 (the XP versions). Windows Media is the worst one available. You have to load all your songs into the media player then manually set up each playlist one by one. I was never able to set up more than one playlist on the player. I was able to load my albums into my Creative Labs player in minutes. The manual is totally useless. No explanation as to how to organize songs in some manner that allows you to skip around (like you would take one CD out and up another one in). The only way I could see to navigate through the songs is to scroll one by one. That is just great if you want to listen to song #432. The only reason I found out that the way to set up playlists was by accident while browsing the Sansa forums. None of the information that came with the player or in the techncial descriptions of the product gave any hint as to how to set up an album or playlist on the player. I find it hard to believe that I am the only person who wants a player that allows one to set up songs in a folder or album system that can be easily accessed apart from scrolling song by song.

2 of 5 Not Happy Saturday, January 19, 2008
Rick Johnson rebelfire77 from North Carolina
For the first time I have to say I was not happy with a product purchsed from Buy.com. The player constantly locks up and you have to turn it off and back on again. More often than not, you have to delete the song from the play list before it will continue to play.

5 of 5 Man I got a great price!!! Saturday, October 20, 2007
Bion from Lincoln, NE
I bought my Sansa c250 back in April of 2007 for $49!! I have never seen it that cheap since. I have had nothing but a great experience with this unit. It sounds good and I can get around the menu pretty easy....it is just a good little MP3 player!! The only con is that they advertise the fact that you can look at photos etc? That screen leaves a lot to be desired...just not a very clear view. Otherwise smoking little player! Did I say $49! PRO $49! CONS Picture viewer

5 of 5 This Thing Rocks! Tuesday, October 02, 2007
gcornett from Searcy, AR
My 13 yr. old son has had this for a number of months. Outside of ear plug wire problems (just repalce the ear plugs)the unit has performed wonderfully. He has been totally satisfied with it in every respect. FM works great, the micro SD slot allows unlimited expansion and the battery recharges quickly thru the included USB cable. Not to worry, for the price and taking into consideration the Micro SD expansion slot and that it is still performing perfectly after months of a 13 yr. old's use, there is no way to go wrong with this unit!!!!

4 of 5 WMA don't believe it! Saturday, September 08, 2007
A Customer from Kansas City, MO
We recently purchased two c250 mp3 players. We really like them however I think something has changed with wma files recently because neither these devices nor our iRiver (which used to play wma files) will play wma formatted files. If you're married to wma I think Microsoft would like to make that a binding contract for life and get you to buy Zune at a pretty good markup from devices like this sweet little Sansa. On the other hand for $10.00 you can get a plug in (from Roxio) to Windows Media player and create mp3 files from your existing library and load them on to your Sansa with great ease. One odd thing, of the two c250's we just bought, one has a delete function and the other does not. No clue as to why that would be. I would highly recommend this if you want to get your child a player (with limits of course). These are GREAT for loading books and they will listen for long periods of time without requiring TV. How great is that!!! It is awesome for long road trips, plane trips etc. My 11 year old mastered the controls without issue, my 7 year old still needs a little help and that's ok. It makes it harder for her to switch from books to music or radio.

5 of 5 Small MP3 Unit, Big Sound, Easy Navigation Saturday, August 11, 2007
Charlie from Texas
I had a Sansa for my first MP3 player before the IPOD was taking off. I was happy with it's performance and 1Gb of storage. I wanted to upgrade the size of storage I had and this unit was the answer. I can upgrade the provided 2Gb of storage easily for future expansion. The sound is magnificent. Although the headset provide is just OK, my more expensive Sony ear buds let me hear crisp clear sounds anywhere. from the lowest volume setting to the highest in noisey areas. Navigation is a breeze with the squarely arranged buttons. You can move easily from Radio to MP3 to equalizer to settings. The bright display is the best feature since I upgraded. Easily readable in daylight as it is in low light providing you information about what is playing and the all time favorite battery meter. Being that this unit is rechargeable and my last unit used AAA batteries, the charger is a godsend and saves me money in the long run. You can't go wrong with this unit. I'd venture to say that the only unit I can find that is better, although more expensive than this one, is the one step up to the E280 model from Sansa. This should be your next MP3 player if you look for saving money, ease of memory upgrade and brilliant sound!

5 of 5 Great player! Monday, June 11, 2007
A Customer from Pelham, NH
The Sandisk Sansa c250 has been great to me. I use it every other day for workouts at the gym and running around my neighborhood. I've had it for almost a month, and I've only had to charge it three times so far. It's compact, durable, and I love the expandability through the MicroSD slot. The removable battery is an important feature that sets this player apart from most others, because once the battery dies in a couple of years, you can just pop in a new one. I can't do that on my iPod. I gave the Sansa a 4 for ease of use because it took me a few hours to get familiar with syncing it to my computer and actually using the controls. The controls are nowhere near as intuitive as an iPod's, but once you get used to them it's not that big of a difference. The Sansa was recognized immediately by my Windows XP computer. I got stuck when Windows Media Player 10 only transferred half of my songs. This was solved by using MediaMonkey instead. You could also use Winamp, or just drag-and-drop files with Windows Explorer. The value was amazing, because I got the 2GB Sansa here for just $50. I have yet to see another deal like that for a quality MP3 player like this Sansa. I would most definitely recommend the Sansa c250, but make sure you also get an AC adapter for it. Otherwise, you're stuck charging it via USB.

5 of 5 Great MP3 Player for the money Sunday, June 10, 2007
John from Saint James, NY
As with all Sandisk products, nice packaging, well put-together. My Windows XP system did not recognize the device at first, but, I switched it to MSC mode, and it was up and running instantly. I copied some MP3's right onto the unit, gave it to my son - for his 6th birthday. He can operate it thanks to the intuitive controls and bright and clear display. The sound is fantastic and the battery is going strong from the first charge. I would buy another one in a heartbeat if I needed another. A good selection in a sea of choices.

4 of 5 Its an MP3 Player Monday, June 04, 2007
A Customer from Midwest, MN
The Positives: Its nice and small, the unit has FM radio, the interface is intuitive, the unit will accept expnasion SD card, and the battery lasts a long time. The not so positives: The proprietary charging cable must be plugged into a computer's USB port.

5 of 5 Very Happy with this MP3 Player Thursday, May 31, 2007
A Customer from Cleveland, OH
My first MP3 player and I could not be happier. Even more impressed with Sandisk technical support. The instruction manual is not comprehensive, but I read online that another user had called Sandisk technical support with an issue and was impressed. So was I. I could not get playlists to load from Windows Media Player or Winamp. Online searches for answers yielded no success. I called Sandisk tech support and was good to go in about 3 minutes (had wrong USB mode). Life is good. My wife bought the same model and really likes the FM radio feature too.

5 of 5 Awesome Player Thursday, May 31, 2007
gcornett from Searcy, Arkansas
Easy to use, does everything is should and the bonus of a card slot for extra memory capacity puts it over the top. A great value for the $$$. Bought it for my son's confirmation gift and he loves it! Has loaded it with Christian tracts and is using it constantly. The built in FM receiver has an excellent range as we live approx. 50 miles from good FM stations and it receives them in fine style. Would recommend this to anyone wanting to enter the mp3 player market!

4 of 5 Nice MP3 Player Wednesday, May 30, 2007
A Customer from Kalamazoo, MI
My only complaint about this product is that the lowest volume setting is too loud. They need to fix that in the firmware. Oh, one minor complaint about not being able to see what's playing when the backlight goes out. You must press a button so it lights up again. Otherwise I got this dirt cheap, the battery lasts a long time and it's a really nice product. Plus there are lots of accessories for Sansa...docking stations, etc. to make it comparable to iPod. I really hope they fix the volume setting because I like to listen to this at work where it's already quiet and it's just too loud.

5 of 5 It was quite a buy! Tuesday, May 29, 2007
A Customer from Spokane, WA
It almost feels like I'm reviewing a different product when the price has doubled from the time I purchased it, as what would be an outstanding player for the price is harder to gauge when the price is now comparable to a variety of other players out there. Now, instead of being an amazing buy because of the potential 4GB capacity of the player, it's more in line with bigger, more robust players that are expandable to 6GB (I'm thinking the Sansa e260). For the money, I'd spend the extra $20 or so and go for the extra memory, but that's just me. Weighing the player on its merits, you have to look at ease of use, battery life, sound quality, and aesthetics. I'd have to say that in all regards, this player gets the job done. As others have said, the sound quality isn't what you would call outstanding, but then again, it's not what I'd consider bad, either. At flat equalizer levels, I find the sound quality to be respectable using quality headphones (Sennheiser CX300Bs), and when using the equalizer, responsive, sound dampening headphones like this will allow the quality to be upgraded to impressive levels. I find this equalizer, which can be set 10 levels up or down from baseline, is more than enough to push my headphones to distortion, and well below that (around 4-5) I can tweak the levels exactly where I want them. So, while I agree the baseline sound is somewhat lackluster, I think you'll have more than enough room for adjustment in the custom setting to get this player to do what you want it to. So, if you're in the market for a compact 2-4GB player, I would say give this one a go, especially if the price drops to around fifty dollars again. At that price, it's a steal!

5 of 5 Power Punch Tuesday, May 29, 2007
Red Baron from MI
This was my first portable MP3 player so I could be a little behind on what is out there. I pick this up for $50 on sale and it is well worth it for sure! Headphones are mid to low range, but I'm guessing that is common from most players. Becoming familiar with the different menus took a little time too but it seems to be the same as other MP3 players. The battery on this unit is amazing !! I've had it now for over a month and have only charged it twice. It has an nice port of adding memory and I added another gig and have not use it yet. If you are looking for something to store your entire music collection this unit may not be for you. But if you looking for something to put plenty of music on and then rotate your collection as you things change or you get board this is perfect!

4 of 5 Good player for a fair price Monday, May 28, 2007
A Customer from Seattle, WA
The player is fairly easy to use. buy it for compactness and listening to audio. Dont buy it for other features. Battery life is good. XP computers had no problems recognizing it w/o additional software. Down side is that when you load music from different computers, each computer only recognizes the music it loaded. I havent installed the software that came with the player yet though. that may eliminate any issues.

4 of 5 A bit pricey but great quality. Monday, May 28, 2007
Tom from Albuquerque, NM
The price was the only thing I thought was a bit off, but the quality and ease of use make up for it. Storage capacity is very good as are the FM features. Sound quality is very good, and the player is lightweight but very sturdy. The screen size is terrific for an MP-3 player, but if you want to show off digital photos, get something with a larger screen. As an easy-to-use MP-3 player, I recommend this one.

5 of 5 Who needs an iPod? Sunday, May 27, 2007
Mark from Muskego, WI
This is my second C250 (one for me, one for the wife.) Great MP3 player. For me and I think most people 2 Gig is more than enough storage space. If you do need more you can add a micro SD memory card to hold some extra tunes. Price is right, easy to navigate, battery holds a charge for a long time. Who needs an iPod?

5 of 5 Better than IPOD Sunday, May 27, 2007
A Customer from Redondo Beach, CA
The c250 is a great value. Easy to use, expandable to 4 GB - which is plenty of music, and the flash memory is much less fragile than the IPOD hard disc. It also has an FM tuner, an adjustable equalizer, and a variery of ways to play back your library. The biggest challenge was loading my music onto the PC, which has nothing to do with the c250. The rest was easy!

4 of 5 Great, but for music only. Screen is low quality. Sunday, May 27, 2007
A Customer from Atlanta, GA
This is a good, small, light, and inexpensive MP3 player and is very easy to use. I got this because it works very well with Rhapsody to Go. Also, the MicroSD slot gives it an advantage over other 2GB mp3 players in its price range. The screen is terrible, though. It has this light blue on lighter blue color scheme for the menus that makes navigation very diffuicult in most lighting conditions. There's no choice of a different color scheme and no contrast control (only brightness). Although the player can show photos, the resolution is so low there's no reason to ever put a photo on the player. Even the sample photos are bad. The sound of the player is very good, but not with the included headphones, which have very little bass response. Get a new pair of headphones and you'll be happy.

An impressive piece of equipment. Especially like the bright display and the intuitive interface for using. Manuals could be more inclusive/better - still unsure about how the battery recharges.

5 of 5 Sansa 2.0 gig Saturday, May 26, 2007
A Customer from Texas
I am very pleased with my Sansa. This is my first mp3 player and it is very easy to use. Also, very versitle, because even though it is only 2 gig, that does hold a lot of songs. But, you are not limited to just 2 gig because of the micro disk slot. You are unlimited because you can put all you want on the disks and put them in anytime you want to.

5 of 5 Great player for the money Saturday, May 26, 2007
Satisfied Customer from Morehead KY
I purchased two C250's, one for each of my two pre-teen children, and they love them. They've used them for about a month at the time of this review with no problems. Although the player may not be top-end as far as format versatility, file organization, etc. it works great for anyone who just wants to listen to mp3's with a minimum of hassle. The drag-n-drop file transfer is great, no complicated interface or having to add to and re-sync a playlist just to add one or two songs. The rechargeable battery pack lasts a long, long time and has already saved us a fortune in batteries. The 2GB of storage is more than adequate, my kids keep adding songs and haven't had to delete any yet. The C250 may not be the ultimate in fashion, features, or audiophile quality but if you have a pre-teen/teen wanting an mp3 player, or are just looking for a decent player yourself, I'd highly recommend it.

4 of 5 Great MP3 Player Saturday, May 26, 2007
A Customer from Miami, FL
I Got This MP3 Player a few weeks ago, and so far I am very happy with it. It took me a few minutes to figure out how to add songs to it, but once I got that out of the way, its pretty much easy. If you are looking for a good and somewhat cheap MP3 player, the Sansa should do the job for you.

4 of 5 Sandisk MP3 Saturday, May 26, 2007
A Customer from Lorton, Virginia
I bought a Sandisk C250 2GB MP3 from buy.com in April. Very good price, very good perfomance, but its not so easy to change the option on the menu. I got it only 2 days from the date I ordered, very fast with free shipping. Buy.com sevice is very good.

5 of 5 Good.... U decide. Saturday, May 26, 2007
Hari from Madison, Wisconsin
I have been using this maybe for the past 1 month. I have used almost all the features in it. The only disadvantage that i could find was the number of hours the battery could withstand. And Mp3, FM tuner/rec and the voice recorder is really good. i have recorded a lot of stuff. The quality is really clear. Its worth buying rather than wasting money on an Ipod which has just the mp3 and maybe thumbnails of photos. You have an equilizer and most of the time you wont be using it. What else can you use an IPOD for. All you need is music and one source is MP3 and the other source is the FM. And i dont think you need tons of space to store music. All i could say is you hardly listen to 1GB of songs and no more than that. The model is compact as well. Its worth for the money. I got this for 49.99 + 5 shipping. Overall I would rate this a 5.

5 of 5 An amazing deal, if you find it on sale... Saturday, May 26, 2007
A Customer from Spokane, WA
The price for consumer electronics tends to vary quite a bit, so at the price I paid, which is about half of what I'm seeing this player for normally, one should not hesitate to buy it. At full price, the flaws might have you considering an Apple-produced competitor. I'm extremely happy with the player, overall. It transfers quickly using the USB interface, and I'm able to drag and drop any music on my computer without issue. Playback for me has been perfect, with the controls being intuitive and easy to press. I find it's not too difficult to navigate with one hand while listening in the car, but two hands is definitely better. The sound quality so far seems quite good using both the stock earbuds and a cassette converter for my car. With a maximum capacity of 4GB using a microSD card, I find that I have more than enough space to load up a variety of music. If you're able to find a good sale on this player, I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone.

5 of 5 What's not to like? Friday, May 25, 2007
A Customer from Wisconsin
I bought a Sansa E series many years ago and was impressed with the sound quality, and ease of use. The C series does nothing to disappoint. It's a great little MP3 player. Being that it is also expandable is a very nice plus. The only complaint is with the generic headphones. You will need to have a different pair ready to go when you receive your player. Other than that no other problems. I like it allot, and would reccommend it to anyone looking for an MP3 player.
