Cables To Go - 7-port USB 2.0 Aluminum Hub

Worked for a while, then worked intermittently, now it doesn't work at all. I don't see any reason why it should die so quickly. Its cheap, but not a good deal when you just have to buy a new one in 6 months.

I am using this hub for past six months brought from BUY.COM. So far so good, not even single event it had failed. This hub do not need the supplied power cable unless you are using external HDD or other power hungry devices. Will recommend this to all!

I used this unit to plug in items separate from my computer like printers, etc. I was able to run the one cable from the usb on my computer to this unit like an extension cord to the bookshelf beside my desk that holds all my "extras" and plug them in there. This allowed me to reduce the mass of tangled wires by using a twist tie to bundle printer wires and others and shorten them since them could plug in to the usb hub on the bookshelf.

This hub worked fine for me for about 6 months. Somehow it managed to fry the USB ports on my motherboard. Had to replace everything thanks to this little hub. I may have had a faulty unit. Either way this $26 hub ended up costing me a lot more time & money. I went with a D-Link DUB-H7 High Speed USB 2.0 7-Port Hub the 2nd time around.

Would not work with my mac. I ended up having to pick up a Staples branded 4-port high speed USB 2.0 hub.

It's a nice black hub that makes your desk cooler. Good price and well worth it. IMPORTANT; It is NOT plastic. Feels like a camera! Use several end to end to make a connectivity "tube".

Excellent product. Well made from aluminium not plastic. Can be powered by USB or AC adapter. Convenient removable base that can be fixed to a surface to prevent the hub from being pulled by the attached cables. Base can be mounted flat or on a vertical surface.

I've bought three of these over the past two years, including this recent purchase. I like its compact form factor and solid feel. It's still hefty enough to hug the countertop. Oh yeah... and it works. :-)

I would recommened this product. Worked out of the box. My front two USB ports on my Dell tower went bad and this was the cheapest solution to get more ports. Looks sturdy and well made. Bill Daly

Seems like all my USB devices keep multiplying and I ran out of ports. This hub is well designed and I particularly like the fact that it can be mounted so it doesn't slide. Works as advertised, no problems at all.

This makes travel with laptops a snap! Takes up VERY little room, conveniently plugs in anywhere, in any computer, and works like a charm. Don't know why they still make those big bulky units! No "buyer beware" warning here----only have no fear!

Nice unit for the price. I would like it if the included USB cable was a little longer. And although it has not been a problem for me, I can see that the weight (or lack there of) could cause it to be easily moved around by the attached cables.

Pretty, shiny, does what it's supposed to do. My only beef with it is that the way I've got it mounted, the logo is upside-down. Very sturdy. I'm getting more of these.

This hub is awesome. I recommend it and it's very stylish, goes with all my other accessories at my Lap Top Desk. The Blue Light is a focal point and adds to the overall look of this Hub!

It is VERY well made. I've seen less expensive hubs, but most USB hubs are not made of extruded Aluminum! When plugged into the PC, the blue power light is on, which is nice. 4 rear ports, and 3 widely spaced ones on the front. Again, very nice, I'd recommend it to others.

Replaced my dlink hub, with this Cables To Go brand. So far no issues at all, not like the ones I was having with my dlink. Sees all my usb connected devices on every boot up.

What can I say, it's a hub... With 4 ports in the back for more permanently connected stuff and 3 spaced out ports on the front that fit all the odd shaped things (larger devices and adapters) the thing is great... Solidly built in a heavy aluminum case. Would recommend it to anyone. I have two of these actually. One for my PC and one for my Mac. Works GREAT!

I had just ordered this item two days ago and it arrived (via budget shipping) in two days. Set it up and it performed as expected. The plus with this unit is that it can easily be taken with my laptop when I need more than the two USB ports provided on my PC. The powered option is great when I need to use my external DVD writer and external HDD. I have purchased numerous items from Buy.com and they have yet to disappoint me with service or products. If you are looking for a good powered USB hub for a great price and have not bought from Buy.com, this would be a great time to try.

This is my 3rd USB hub purchase (1st from Buy.com) And this is the 1st one that works seamlessly w/o locking up my PC or making it run erratically. It's well built, easy to use, nicely designed, and I've had 6 USB devices plugged in simultaneously and working great!

This unit was just perfect for my desktop where it is much more convenient to use as my computer is located under my desk. It does just exactly what is expected of it and does it with a flair for style. I don't have a problem with the blue light like some others have had. It doesn't seem all that bright to me.

I was looking for a USB hub that is easy to install, care-free, a good value, and stylish. This USB hub has it all. I am very happy with this purchase. It also gives you the option to power from your PC or its own AC outlet. In order to not burden my computer, I am using the latter. This is the most stylish of the hubs I could find (all rectangular in shape)and the black and white color is neutral enough to go with any decor. I have had it for over a month and so far it has been great.

The hardest part of setting it up is getting out of the sealed plastic box! I am using the external power supply, and already have four different USB accessories in. All working perfectly.

Powered 7-port USB 2.0 hub worked right out of the box. Have connected 4 of the 7 ports with devices like my keyboard, mouse, external HDD, and Creative Zen MP3 player. Have had no issues. Prior to this, I tried to use an unpowered USB 2.0 hub on my PC. None of the devices I plugged into it were able to be recognized. My guess was that it was a USB power problem (seeing how I had several other USB ports on my machine already occupied and the unpowered USB 2.0 hub worked fine on a different PC). This powered 7port USB hub appears to have fixed that issue.

I'm not doing anything special with it, just using for some printers, cameras, phones, USB flash drives. It does what it's supposed to do at a reasonable price. I do like that it's fairly compact, and I definitely use the anti-slide insert so the hub stays secure on its base because it's free-standing. I think the only real negative I can mention is the provided USB input cable is a relatively short length.

This CablesToGo 7 position USB hub is in a sharp aluminum case 4 3/4" long. It comes with an aluminum mount that I have fastened to the cornor of my desk using two included wood screws. Also included is a power adaptor that delivers full power to all 7 USB ports. The unit can be used without plugging in the AC power but I chose to use it. An indicator light on top shows power on. There is nothing to install this USB unit. Plug in to one USB port on your computer and plug in the AC power if you chose. In addition I chose to mount the base to my desk. Looks sharp - works great.

The item came in just a couple of days. Took it out of the box plugged it into the back of my computer and it works great. I have my keyboard, printer and external hard drive connected and have also plugged in my camcorder. Fast and easy. Love this product!!!

Great service from Buy.com, as always. Works without a hitch on my XP and Ubuntu laptops. Not working on my XP desktop, but I suspect the problem is either the desktop's USB 2.0 card or the driver for said card (as I said, works flawlessly on my XP laptop).

Over the years the one bad thing about my Dell desktop was the horrible placement of front USB ports. Have always been looking for an inexpensive hub that didn't feel cheap in it's construction. This one is it.

I'm extremely happy with this hub. The fact that it is powered is important for my external HDD, but it is also great tha it can work as a bus-powered hub. I read reviews of others overheating. This one doesn't at all. There is sufficient distance between the ports to easily insert a USB cord. I also really like the detachable base that can be screwed into the desk. This thing can even be attached vertically into the side of your desk. Last but not least, it is metal, and has a very solid feel. And the looks are great! Recommend to anyone!

This is the second 7 Port Aluminum Hub that I pruchased form Buy.com and am very happy with both of them. If you can get it for less than #30 with free shipping it is a real deal. All 7 ports are either internally powered, from your USB port, or externally powered if you plug in the AC adaptor. In answer to a previous review I have a 500 Gb USB drive working through this hub and use it all the time for back up...

This is the first 7-port USB hub I have found that will allow my Intel motherboard to boot without hanging up. This is a very well built device, apperas to be very rugged, it is all metal. Just a really great product!

I bought this hub for a "out front" port for usb accessories so I wouldn't have to plug temporary items in the back of my IMAC. Works great! Small and unobtrusive and nice looking also! Just wish they would include a small strip of self adhesive velcro so I could attach it to my desk without drilling holes.

Looks cooler than other USB hubs (even my Belkin hubs). Has a pretty small footprint. Works well thus far, but it's only been 3 weeks.

Have several things plugged into USB ports on Wii and had to unplug at least one item to play RockBand - This works for the Wii - Everything is plugged in and works.

Nice design. It works fine for your mouse, keyboard and printer, but it does not connect with some devices, like ipods and portable hard drives. I haven't tried my camera or PS3, but others have said it works fine.

My 4-port hub just wasn't cutting it anymore. I bought this to connect all my devices (mouse, keyboard, printer, camera, ups, and I still have 2 open ports for flash drives or external hdds! Its small, cheap, and works great!

Works as described and as expected. Cords could be longer depending on where your computer is, but really is not the product's fault. Tends to slip out of its metal base but comes with a fix. Overall, great value and performance.

I think this hub does a very poor job at voltage regulation. It often has trouble connecting usb powered portable hard drives. My other hub from I/O gear never fails. It may as well be due to the underpowered power supply as some users have suggested. If you are going to use this on many usb gears that require power to be fed directly from the hub, you should look elsewhere. But if you are hooking up printers and keyboard dongles and so on, you shouldn't have any problem with it.

The 7-port USB hub is just what I needed. It arrived very quickly, despite the shipping being free. The price was right! It does tend to slip out of its base, but that's not been a big problem, and I do wish the USB cord were 6 feet long. Works great, though. I'd purchase another without hesitation if I needed one...and might for my laptop computer. Buy.com does not disappoint. Consistently good products, delivered quickly, packaged well.

It has three ports that are well spaced for wider thumb drives, memory card readers,etc. and four ports you can hook up standard usb cables to nicely. Since it is powered, I can charge my mp3 player or my PSP without turning on my computer. I love it.
