The CPS425SL Home and Office Series UPS is perfect power protection for individuals running a stand-alone PC in their home or office. It includes PowerPanel (TM) Power Management software which monitors the vitals of the UPS and will safely shut down your system in case of a power outage. Composite IC circuitry offers advanced lightning protection and also guards against surges, spikes, sags, brownouts and other power abnormalities. This rugged unit is equipped with a RJ11 port which protects against surges from phone or network disruptions. The small footprint design is ideal for horizontally or vertically placement, and is even designed for wall-mountability. The unit is also perfect for protecting other electronics such as monitors, printers, scanners, speakers, fax machines, CD/DVD players, and iPods.

We had a massive power outage (a whopping 2 seconds worth!) a couple weeks ago and it was then, as I was editing a (luckily) short letter that I found out my 15-year-old Tripplite UPS wasn't working any more. I lost the letter when the computer rebooted after the lights flashed. OK, searching locally, prices were high. I looked online and found the CyberPower UPS for half the local price from Buy.com, -including- delivery. Needles ta slay, I bought it online. I think it was 4 days later that the box came to me. Switching it out for the other UPS took all of 5 minutes, including climbing under the desk to plug it in. The CyberPower unit also surge-protects my phone line, so my phone, modem are protected. It's a great little unit. I tested it the next morning after it had time to fully charge, and it performed flawlessly, as I needed. I'm very happy with it. The form factor is better, too; it doesn't stick up as far on my desktop. Buy one!

Seems to be a good power supply. Especially helpful is the wide spacing of the plugs, so that power adapter "bricks" can be plugged in without blocking adjacent outlets. Software was easy to install and use. Price is cheaper than comparable APC units (I paid $35 for this). It has a three year warranty, so we'll see if the battery wears out within that period. (In my experience, that is what always fails with these power supply units, and a new battery is usually more expensive than a completely new unit.)

I bought three of these for the office. They work great. I have a business PC with two 17 inch LCDs plugged into the battery. Give about 5 minutes of juice. If you are going to use their software to manage the UPS, do not install it from the CD. Download the latest version from their website. It's a cleaner and friendlier interface.

I have read some negative reviews of the CyberPower Battery Backups on other sites, but I have had no problems with the two that I bought. I’ve also used their standard Power Surge Protectors for years without any problems, but this is my first appearance with their UPS systems… You can only expect about 7 minutes of run time when using a 19” monitor, and an average powered PC.

After about 8 months my unit failed, I have been ignored twice via e-mails to Cyberpower, and today was just hung-up on twice after tying to reach tech support and Warranty department. The only person I spoke to was during the call for warranty support, and that was an operator to switch me to the department, after being on hold for 1-2 minutes, click- goodbye. The second call to tech support via the phone keypad was disconnected after a message to contact via e-mail. Beware they do not want to talk to you once you have purchased the item. Go with any other UPS provider!
