This was delivered quickly and saved a trip to a shopping mall. Easy to install. Adequate plug-in ports. Very pleased but have not had to test this product, thank goodness. This was a replacement for an earlier UPS which performed wonderfully. Was this review helpful?

Good price for a full function UPS. Hope you have a free USB port, because the serial cable is not included, and comes at extra cost. Plus the serial program has to be downloaded and is HUGE. So don't buy this if you need a serial connection and have a dial-up Internet connection.
Overall a good deal for a 450W UPS. The USB program works in all versions of Windows except 3.1. (And yes, there are people out here that still use 3.1 ;) ) Was this review helpful?

Last month's Computer Power User magazine found computer power supplies that caught fire if line voltage dipped below 80Volts. Modern electronics have "switch-mode" power supplies also, you need an AVR battery backup for any electronics that would cost much to replace.
Also, with a UPS, your DVR's program guide and record schedule don't get "flushed" by a power loss. Was this review helpful?

This is a great way to protect your lcd / plasma tv from voltage spikes.
I don’t like cyberpower for the computer because the software that comes with it for shutting down the PC is not nearly as good as APC's. However for protecting your TV from brown outs and spikes, it is GREAT!

I had a Cyberpower 1500 UPS a long time ago, and the remarkable thing about their warranty was that they covered the batteries, too. It was malfunctioning near the third year of service, and I called Cyberpower to find out was wrong. From the unit's behavior they were certain that it just needed new batteries, so they advance-shipped me two new batteries for free! Cured the problem and I kept using it for several more years. CyberPower uses standard off-the-shelf batteries in all of their UPS units. The AVR units are more cost-effective than the units from APC. After 2 years the APC units tell you to get a new battery, and with the shipping on replacements it is almost cheaper to buy a whole new UPS. With CyberPower, you can take your battery to a local shop and buy an exact replacement at a fraction of the cost, without shipping costs. Shipping has gone up a lot on heavy items like UPS units and batteries. I've switched our entire company's standard UPS brand from APC to CyberPower because we were just throwing money away on batteries and shipping every 2 years. Was this review helpful?
