3 of 5 Battery problems - solved by using lithium batteri Monday, October 26, 2009
lawmaven from Irvine, CA

The labeler works fine. Added bonus is that it uses the M tapes, which are a good value. The problem is that batteries need to be at max (by alkaline standards) and, when the alkalines degrade even the slightest amount, the labeler believes the voltage is too low and the unit shuts down. The solution is to use lithium batteries which are 1.7v at full charge instead of alkaline (which are about 1.5v at full charge). Unit works fine with lithium batteries.

5 of 5 Great label printer at a great price! Wednesday, February 04, 2009
A Customer from Des Moines, IA
I purchased this since the price was very low and my expectations were inline with the price. But to my surprise, it's a very nice label printer and is perfect for home or office. It's very easy to use and I like the date labels that you can print, which isn't offered on all models. Overall, a great bang for the buck!

4 of 5 NICE LABELER - AC adapter would be great... Wednesday, January 14, 2009
A Customer from Los Angeles
THe unit works great and it's easy to use - I bought it for my daughter who's 10 and she learned how to use it right out of the box, no instructions needed. The only gripe I have is that the omission of an AC adapter connection is perplexing. Why not give people a choice of power option?

4 of 5 What a deal Tuesday, January 13, 2009
Michael P from Sykesville, MD
I got this labeler on sale with free shipping and am extremely happy. It arrived within 2 days! We use this same device at work and we paid almost 4 times more for the same printer from our office supplier. There is one downfall. You must purchase the replacement labels at over $10 each and if you are not careful, the cartridge doesn't last very long. Printing can leave a lot of white blank space in between prints, wasting labels. If you print continuous different labels before you cut them, you can save some labels. You can't find this purchase for a better price than I did though.

4 of 5 For 8 Bucks who can complain? Monday, January 12, 2009
LM from NJ
I bought this product and so far used it to label storage containers. I have only made 5-7 labels but it couldn't have been easier. My only concern is that the labels may not stick as well as I would like.

4 of 5 Great Labels! Sunday, January 11, 2009
John from Allison, IA
Got this at Christmas for me - great deal at eight bucks shipped! (Obviously a Christmas special). Makes great looking labels. Not very intuitive on how to adjust text size and style. One problem I have is every time I print a label the display says "low battery" even though I have brand new Duracell ones in it (not rechargeable), and tested them after seeing the warning the first time and they are still fresh. The unit is fairly compact, but is very easy to use the keyboard (MUCH bigger than a phone!) A good low-end product. Can't beat the price.

Toni V. from St. Louis, MO
I have been a long-time user of label machines and brother makes the best! I had always wanted one at home (use it at work all the time) and never wanted to spend the bucks. At $12.99 - I couldn't pass it up! A GREAT deal at a GREAT price!!!

5 of 5 Works just fine Monday, November 24, 2008

The label maker is relatively simple to use and make attractive labels. The backing is flexible so it contours to and adheres to curved bindings very well. Works great for my needs

5 of 5 Good label maker for the money Saturday, November 22, 2008
A Customer from Murfreesboro, TN
When on sale it is a great label maker for the money (less than $20). The keyboard is a pain if you are entering alpha-numeric strings. You are limited to two tape sizes (1/2" and 3/8") while better units have greater choices. At it's regular price, I would step up to a more functional unit for the few extra dollars.

4 of 5 Nice labeler but has problem with rechargeable bat Thursday, November 20, 2008

I really like this labeler but I have the same problem that another person mentioned, namely that it reports "low battery" after printing only one label when using rechargeable AAAs.

4 of 5 Great Labeler Monday, November 10, 2008
Mary from Wyoming
The keyboard is easy to use. The options are easy to change (font, formatting, etc). The label refills are easy to find, inexpensive & come in a variety of colors. My only complaint is the backing on the labels is a pain to get off. It's not split down the middle like other labels.

4 of 5 Nice for the Price Friday, November 07, 2008
A Customer from Tooele, Utah
I think this is a nice little labeler. I just wish the replacement cartridges weren't more than what I spent for the labeler! If you get a chance to get some extra cartridges along with your purchase...get them! The whole labeler/with cartridge was certainly worth the price. I'm sorry to hear that it really eats up batteries, though.

5 of 5 Better than Sliced Bread Tuesday, November 04, 2008
www.RainDancerVideo.com from Corvallis, MT
If you consider yourself an organized person an don't have a label printer then you need to get one. You cannot go wrong at the buy.com price with free shipping. You'll pay about the same price of a tape cartridge and get the machine too. As an event videographer this is the best tool for marking mini DV tapes that I have came across. I loved it so much I bought a second one as a back up. Like I said the tape only is aout the same price. You can find good deals on tape and though the tape is the most expensive item, it is a small price to pay for the convenience and the time saved by being organized. I like this model because it has the QWERTY keypad. The ones with the alphabetically arranged keypads are VERY cumbersome for me to use.

5 of 5 Great for the Price! Saturday, November 01, 2008

I had a similar labeler that ran out of tape. It was almost the same price to buy a new printer than replacement tape. Great for the price!

5 of 5 Should have bought one of these years ago. Monday, October 13, 2008
A Customer from Corvallis, MT
With the low price and free shipping from buy.com this has been a great investment. As a commercial event videographer I wish i would hav had one of these years ago. It does seem to waste a small amount of space on the tape and the tape is not cheap, but the ease of use and the way it helps you stay organized is well worth it. You can shop around and same a lot on the tapes. Easy to use (once you read the manual), very portable and handy to keep on hand in the area that you need it, and very fast to make a quick label. I loved it so much I ordered a second one for another location.

5 of 5 Great quality and value!! Sunday, October 12, 2008
paulk9 from Spokane, WA
I have been using Brother Label printers for years both at home and at work. I have rarely had problems with them. This one is no exception. It was on sale on Buy.com for less than $15.00. As others have said, they are easy enough for your kids to use. Just make sure you supervise them or they, like mine, may hit the "multiple copies" button and blow through an entire roll!! A reminder: This type of label tape is only good for "interior usage". For more severe environments you have get the Brother printers that use the more expensive laminated tape. These are great for use in places exposed to sun (garden), chemicals (shop), etc. Great product!!

You really can't go wrong with this very handy unit, Portable and well worth the small price I paid for it, Great edition when you have to label almost anything in my store. 5 of 5 Tons of features Sunday, August 31, 2008
Wesley from Houston, Texas
More features and options than I have seen on a label maker in this price range. It does two lines of print (if you want) and has a ton of symbols you can choose from. It comes with the black letters on white tape with it. The tape is inexpensive to purchase and you can get it anywhere. I would buy again.

Waited until I could get this label maker for a good price (< $20). Easy to use and produces a nice label. Plenty of font types. Like the frame feature, though takes a little bit to program. Have not used it a lot yet.

5 of 5 Wonderful Product Saturday, August 23, 2008
Mo L. from New York, NY
Works very well, prints in enough size variations (skinny, small, wide, etc.) to be able to fit them anywhere. Comes with plenty of tape and is actually quite intuitive to use (you may need about 5-10 minutes working through the menus to figure out where all the features are). It tends to waste a bit of tape on each side because it leaves too much blank space, which kinda gets on my nerves, but I don't use it enough for this to really affect me. I like that it remembers what you last printed, even after powering off. Importantly, the QWERTY keys are great, and are in perfect position for comfortable and fast thumb touch typing.

Got this for 1/4 the price of a similar labeling machine sold at Lowes...labels are great and the refill cartridges are reasonable, but with 26 feet of labels tape, I won't need a refill any time soon!

5 of 5 Great value, useful Saturday, July 19, 2008
TAB from Altoona, PA
I got this labeller on sale and found it to be very easy to use and more than adequate for my needs. Performance exceeds expectations. My only disappointment is the cost of the tape cartridges ($11.95 at Staples) which is almost as much as I paid for the device.
