Contrary to what the others here say, it DOES work with vista. But like most webcams I've used, you have to install the driver BEFORE plugging in the webcam. RTFM! before complaining. No it does not have a built in mic, which would have been nice. But it didn't claim that it does so I never expected it and didn't shave points because of it. It does come with a separate headset which i never use but nice to come with. It has a wide angle view which is good if you have more than one person on cam. So yeah, I love it! Specially the price! The webcam works fine with Windows, but since I'm using linux as my main OS, I'm deducting some points for this reason. Companies should DO an effort to cover the drivers for every OS the consumer chooses to use. That's my opinion of course. Was this review helpful?

This camera does NOT have a built-in microphone. I don't know why but I just ASSUMED that it would. You know what they say about assuming anything! I use it on top of my LCD monitor on my desktop. I already have speakers and I don't want to use a silly looking headset to talk on the webcam. Use with instant messengers is mostly impossible. Low-light performance is quite poor. Vista doesn't recognize it. Overall a waste of money but I got it so cheap (after rebate) that it wasn't worth the effort to return it. Get something else. Was this review helpful?

This camera was great and the included headset was worth almost the price alone. Was easy to setup and came with great software. Creative always been one of my all time favorties. I used this on my desktop even though its for the laptop. Small size and very inconspicuous. Mounted it using some velcro easliy to my desktop monitor. When i go out on the road grab it and go. Clips onto the note book securely and fast and im good to chat. Was this review helpful?

Packaging says it works with Yahoo Messenger, but I can't get video to broadcast, just audio. Creative writes me off saying YM is 3rd party software, but it didn't work with the software bundled with it either, SightSpeed. Again, Creative denies any ability to deal with the problem. If you want to use this for your desktop LCD monitor, you need to consider other product.
It is small for that.
This one is notebook web cam as it is described in its name.

I am very pleased with this device. It's a nice camera that is fast and clear. As long as your notebook has a built in mic! Otherwise you need a headphone or desktop mic and that negates the purpose and convience of a small compact camera. I also like the storage case. My partner has a Dell with no mic and he tried this nad recomends only getting a camera with a built in mic. Good for the $$$

I could not install it to my Laptop because i am using Windows Vista 32bit. It is throughing an error. I checked it with Creative technical team and they said driver will be available by the end of march 2007. So i hv no option but to wait till driver comes in the market.
To clarify there is no comment on performance and ease of use as i have not yet used it. But it is disappointing that creative is behind the technology. it should have been available by now. Was this review helpful?

The webcam is too good for its price. It is so small that you can carry it in your laptop bag everyday. It comes with soft carrying case. It fits right on top of laptop monitor and you can adjust the angle as you like. The image quality is very good.
The software installation was little time consuming as it went on the net for getting updates and then reinstalled itself with the latest version. Needed couple of restarts. But the software has so many features that it is worth waiting so long. It comes with smart face tracking which is awesome feature as it adjusts itself to keep your face at the centre anywhere you move(of course in reasonable limits in front of the monitor). It has got motion sensors which records the clip if it senses any movement in front of the monitor and can send email alerts. It also comes with a great feature called remote monitoring which can send images over the net.

(+): Ease to setup, focuses nicely, TINY size makes it easy to carry and use, comes with case and mic/speaker, clear picture as long as you don't move.
(-): Poor white balance control, inaccurate colors, poor fps rate.
Overall: Would be nice to have the mic/speaker built-in and faster fps. Great for travel! For the price, I can't complain! Was this review helpful?
