1 of 1 customers found this review helpful. 5 of 5 Excellent sound, expandable Saturday, August 19, 2006 David from San Jose, CA
Pros:
-Great sounding player, SRS WOW-HD really does add nice depth and focused bass with clear vocals with adjustable settings.
-Nice FM radio with signal strength indicator that looks like its from a cell phone.
-Voice recorder. Especially useful for college students who like to record lectures or people who need to remind themselves of lots of things I guess. Or songwriters who want to be able to record a melody or lyrics wherever they are.
-SD expandable (I added 2GB to mine, some claim 4GB cards work too).
-Super lightweight.
-Easy to use, EQ and Play mode (repeat/shuffle/repeat all/intro) changing with dedicated buttons. Best included earbuds of any MP3 player. They're on par with the Sony Fontopia line with similar design (flexible sleeve with great isolation and bass response)
Cons:
-Not particularly durable if you treat it roughly, but plenty strong for most uses.
-No song selection menus (i.e. by artist, album, genre, etc). Instead it just has all the files in order by their filename and you can skip to the next one or previous only (which takes a somewhat annoying full second)...so bad for browsing through a lot of music or trying to find a particular song.
Overall: A great alternative to a nano/shuffle with more features than the appls (radio, recorder, expandable, SRS) and a step above all other flash players. Particularly enticing when you can get this player with the equally great HUB dock for one hundred dollars at a certain retail store ;) Was this review helpful?
