5 of 5 Great Product!! Monday, June 09, 2008 Ashley from Kearney, NE
It may not have internet capability and be an older model but it does the job that I want it to. The only issue I have is that I can't seem to get the time to keep up. I will set it then I will turn it on and the time won't be correct. Other than that it is a great product with good features. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Great price, but.... Monday, May 12, 2008 Catifsh from Greenville, MS
I got a great price on this Palm Z22 with a special Google checkout offer, but the main reason I got it was to run a medical program called ePocrates. I find this program runs noticably slower on this Palm, vs even the Z21 I have. Don't know why. The programs that came with it run very fast. Also, it really needs a higher resolution screen to read the small type more comfortably. Was this review helpful?
1 of 5 low resolution, and slow Thursday, April 03, 2008 john from Brooklyn NY
this model is underpowered. It has low resolution of its screen. I am saying... low. The touchscreen is sometimes slow in responce, 2 sec. to react. The alarm signal even on max is so discrete, so you will not hear it being on a street. A program called "Brain Trainer" runs slow and so I am frustrated about it. It is only good for calendar, period;
I don't recomend it. It's cheap, but you get what you pay for. Was this review helpful?

the screen is really far from greatness. Tiny details? undistinguishable. Colors of tiny details? blury ! E-book on this? Can you enjoy reading when fonts are really small? If you manage to make them big, scrolling down will frustrate you.
"Brain trainer" on this? slow and frustrating, touchscreen unresponsive.
Made in China---- need more?
Not worth the hard earned green. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 the palm is great Tuesday, February 19, 2008 Mike from California
The palm Pilot Z22 is great but if you have an older model be sure you uninstall EVERYTHING having to do with it! Windows Vista will fight you tooth and nail if you don't! Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Stay at home Mom! Tuesday, February 19, 2008 Stephanie from Greenville, PA
I am a stay at home mom and this thing is my life saver. It keeps my appointments so organized that I don't miss any now. Just the right size! I love the notepad on it, I put my grocery list on it and as I buy the things I need I can easily erase! No more searching for that scrap of paper you scribbled your list on. The crazy daisy is actually pretty cool too, I was at a restaurant with an hour wait and this little girl next to me started to get bored so I gave it to her, and we didn't hear a peep from her until they got called. So the whole thing is a life saver! Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Perfect device for my small needs Saturday, December 01, 2007 KEB from Seattle, WA
Price was reasonable and delivery was prompt. It is just right for my relatively small contact list, and the calendar reminder is a nice feature. I would recommend it for anyone with modest needs. Using my computer to enter info was handy and syncing was a breeze. Was this review helpful?

I am a stay at home mom and didn't need something with a whole bunch of really advanced software or mp3's(ok that would have been nice) or camera even. Cuz let's say the palm gets messed up, the camera goes too.. So I thought I'd like an "organizer" and thats exactly what I got.
I've downloaded a bunch of extra little apps that have been really nice: "BlastPad"(mainscreen), "Life as I see it"(diary), "praymind", "palmquran","Diddlebug"(like notepad but with easy to use alaram, "HiMoney"(cool expense tracking software,"PlanMyDay"(plan your day),"SecureVault"(for passwords),WorkHours(for work hours of various stores you go to), HOlidayUSA,Converter(convert measures),Tiktok(timer).
The calendar is awesome. I like those little color things. I actually use the weekview quite a bit. Very convenient. I was really into paper before I got this but this doesn't make me want to go back to paper at all.
It really just grabs all those little things in your life and boom yur on top of it all. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Palm Z22 Entry-Level Organizer Thursday, June 28, 2007 Rick Plavnicky from North Brunswick, NJ
My wife was attracted to the appearance of the Palm Z22 organizer in a brick-and-mortar retail store, but I bought it online at substantial savings. While I've got considerable experience with PDAs this is her first. The Z22 is an appropriate entry-level device with price and performance that seems about right. It's easy to use. The screen is bright and clear. One screen protector is included and it requires you to cut it to size before installing. No 'squeegee' is provided and so the novice may have trouble preventing bubbles. Battery life is acceptable. Initial installation of the synchronization software on my wife's laptop did NOT complete successfully. I needed to fiddle with it some - no problem for me but could be difficult for the novice. Once the software was installed correctly the device synchronized its calendar and contact list with Microsoft Outlook quickly and easily. Subsequent synchronizations handled conflicts intuitively. The biggest downside of this device is that no protective sleeve is included. Since the buttons are exposed, unless it's protected the device will turn itself on when it's loose in your gadget bag or purse. You'll want to buy a case to protect it - add another $20 or so to the purchase price. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 a good basic palm Saturday, May 12, 2007 tg from albany, New York
This palm does what is promised on the cheap. The alarm feature for the callendar is convenient, and the synch is no problem. Was this review helpful?

The Z22 represents a good value with reasonably crisp and clear color screen. Basic programs easy to use and though lacking an SD card slot, has enough additional memory for some basic add-on programs. If you are used to using a cradle to charge and synch your Palm, this isn't easily done as the connectors are on the top. Cover or case selections are limited but at this price and size, a screen protector is good enough for every day wear and tear. Over all a good basic PDA for calendar, addresses, pictures etc. Was this review helpful?

The device is lightweight & compact. It has all the basis features except for e-mail. The deal from Buy.Com was inferior to buying direct from Palm where for the same price you can get an international power cord included (a $29.99 value) Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Easy to setup and use Monday, March 19, 2007 Anne from Cincinnati, OH
This is my first palm pilot, so I don't have a lot of experience with them, but I was able to get this one up and running pretty quickly. I love having one place to look for all of my contacts. It's easy to sync it with the computer. It's pretty durable, too. I love it. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Great Product for starters Tuesday, February 13, 2007 A Customer from 28712
It is a great product if you want a handy "datebook" that pretty much does everything you want. It does not have some fancy applications like those $300 ones, but it is great for starters and if you just want to keep yourself on track. I got one for my Dad, then my Mom wanted one as well. They both love it. Was this review helpful?

5 of 5 Palm z22 Monday, January 08, 2007 A Customer from Pearland, Tx.
I am enjoying my Palm z22. It's great for my needs and easy to use. I can update my information on the computer, then sync up to the Palm and all new info gets entered. I bought the air case to help protect it. All at a great price through Buy.com ! Was this review helpful?

After retiring I needed something to help keep all of our appointments straight (yes, you are even busier after retiring)and organize our friends, doctors, etc. After trying to use a paper calendar/organizer, I purchased the Z22 on a whim and fell in love with it. I bought one for my wife 2 months later, and now we both use them religiously, beaming info to each other daily. If I had realized what a great tool these are, I would have purchased one, probably with more glitz, when I was working. I'm very surprised at the huge amount of memory. I keep adding info and it hardly affects the memory. I recommend the Z22 wholeheartedly. Was this review helpful?

I have owned my Z22 for almost a year. I was using a paper calendar before and didn't think I really needed a PDA since I don't need to keep track of that much stuff. Was I ever wrong. After getting fed up with copying phone numbers and addresses repeatedly year after year, I discovered the Z22 at an incredible price for what you get. Because my husband is a Palm user, he was able to beam me all contacts in a matter of seconds and saved me tons of writing time. He can beam me events from his calendar that will affect my schedule and visa versa. Being able to mark categories by color makes it easy to see at a glance, which things pertain to me and which are his. Being able to back things up on the computer with more than one user makes it easy to check his calendar when he is away with his Palm. The only thing I don't like is the lack of a wallet type case. I found the Air Case to be bulky and inconvenient. It also scratches easily. I managed to find a leather case made by another company online that fits the Z22, and I am a very happy camper. I didn't need a device to do everything. I have a cell phone. I have a laptop. I needed a PDA to replace my wornout Visor Platinum.
The Palm Z22 is just that. It syncs with Outlook and keeps my appointments and contacts current. It recognized my existing profile and restored all of my My mobileDb Dbs on my first sync.
Could not have been easier.
If I decide I need more functionality, I'll pay for it. For the money, this is a great product.

I love this thing, I hope the followup in the future will be equally as good. I don't particularly like the way the alarms work and the screen isn't well protected, but otherwise a fine product and easily worth the money. If you pick up Plucker software to download websites to it and Project Gutenberg free (out of copyright) books, this becomes one wonderful little machine. It lacks WiFi functionality but it's not bad downloading the sites to the machine. Memory is limited to built in, but it can't play music so the size of your files will probalby be low anyway. Pictures aren't as good quality as the demo ones, but servicable. Battery life is great. All in all, you'll like this PDA. Was this review helpful?

No frills here, but this is a fairly priced entry-level handheld that performs as advertised. Easy setup is a bonus, and synchronization is a snap. Note for Mac users: If you're syncing with Entourage, you'll need to use the Handhed Sync Installer (Additional Tools folder in Office) and follow the instructions that come with that in order to sync your with that app. Was this review helpful?

The screen is smaller than I expected. Back light is good. Visibility is good outdoors. This is a good PDA, but don't expect it to do much else. With only 32 MB of memory it will have plenty of room for standard PDA data. No SD card and no audio jack. Z22 will not double as an MP3 player.

I had an older -- and much more expensive -- Palm device before buying the Z22. I'm very happy with this device. It does everything that I need and does it very easily. The screen is not great for pictures but provides very readable text. It's fast and the battery life is amazing. Was this review helpful?

I'm new to PDA usage and this model is fabulous. It's pretty easy to use, great price (here at Buy.com) and the size/weight makes it easy to handle. As an older adult college student and fulltime mom, I needed something to help me with scheduling but not be cumbersome to learn or carry. Simple to sync with your home computer, memory level is adequate and available additional software for download is helpful. Was this review helpful?

This has lived up to the expectations I had reading reviews off the net. It is a very decent entry level PDA. This has been my first PDA, and the learning curve is virtually non-existent, very intuitive indeed. The list of applications bundled is adequate, not amazing. The game of chess bundled is quite good, and the note taking application is pretty neat. A dictionary is one thing I am missing. I know we can buy it off the net, but such a simple application should have been included. The battery life has been impressive, and the display is crisp.
Overall, a very very good buy. Was this review helpful?

<p>
While a PalmOS "<i>power user</i>" could complain about the lack of memory card slot or high-resolution display, this PalmOS based device is a perfect entry-level device for many users, and a great value.
<p>
The display is very clear and has good colour quality. The performance for the basic PDA applications (address/phone/notes/todo/etc) is still far smoother than any PocketPC based product. And the included rechargable batteries seem to provide a reasonably long run time for a colour device.
<p>
Gone are the days of the Palm-III where a pair a AAA batteries would last a few months, but since this device trickle charges while hooked up to USB for syncing, you are less likely to notce.
<p>
The size is very comfortable in the hand and the off-white colour provides for a very clean look. Was this review helpful?
