I purchased this as my second battery backup system of this same type and brand. The first one was great. The second one was a dud, and did not provide any battery backup. Unfortunately I wanted more than two weeks to discover this and cannot send it back. Take your chances but test the system. I hope it works as a surge protector at least. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 APC Back-UPS ES 350VA Monday, June 02, 2008 B. Walker from Tamaqua, PA
This is my second purchase (replacement) of the APC Back-UPS ES unit. My first lasted longer than the warranty period. This product is reliable for protection of my home computer equipment, and the price is good. Would definitely recommend. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 GREAT LITTLE UPS Monday, February 04, 2008 JR from Raleigh, NC
This UPS is a great buy and is designed to power your computer, monitor, and DSL/cable modem through brief power interruptions such as commonly occur during thunderstorms, so you don't lose data. With the included software and connector you can arrange it to gracefully shut down your PC if the power loss is more than just a blink and you are somewhere else. Run time is limited (roughly 1-2 minutes) but larger models are available. The Buy.com price is little more than a decent outlet strip with surge protection, something everyone needs anyway. In fact, it has built-in surge protection, including for extra outlets not on battery back-up. It's a quality product and works as advertised. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Great for what it is intended Wednesday, December 05, 2007 A Customer from Miami, FL
A great UPS for a single PC where you don't need long operation without power... it will let you survive brief power fluctuations and if you save your work properly will let you survive long ones without data loss... make sure you get a new one, every 18-24 months and life will be grand. 5 of 5 APC's Great Service Wednesday, September 12, 2007 Matt from Spanish Fork, UT
I had an older model (BF350) and I had smoke comming out of the outlets. My compter and other equipment continued to work fine and I was able to shut them down and unplug them. I did not have a receipt and was possitive it was out of warranty, APC promptly replaced it with the BE350 even though I let them know I did not have a reciept and thought it was out of warranty. This newer one has worked great though blackouts, and brownouts. APC truley seems to care about it's customers and its reputation. Was this review helpful?

Easy setup. Somewhat shorter backup time than hoped for, but enough to allow attached equipment to power down. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Great Company, Great Price Thursday, April 12, 2007 Josh from Lehi, UT
I have used many brands of UPS's. APC has consistently knocked it out of the ballpark for me over the years. Out of the 2 or 3 dozen UPS's I have purchased for business over the years, I have rarely had issues with the APC brand, but much too often had issues with other brands.
This product is a very reasonably priced UPS from a great company. I'd take it over any other UPS in its price range.

5 of 5 Basic UPS, great reputation, good price Saturday, April 07, 2007 Tim T. from Mackinaw, IL
I bought this UPS to support our modem, routers and switch for our network at church. Setup was easy, and of course I've probably got more runtime than necessary but the price was right. Another great APC product. Was this review helpful?

I had two older APC backups that finally gave up the ghost. I wanted an APC backup for my Internet station and I needed one for my bedroom (Old but favorite alarm clock that won't hold batteries anymore...)
I ordered these two backups and had no difficulties with them. It comes with a telephone patch cord and a USB to RJ-45 cable and software. I'm not utilizing any of these at either site.
I've got my phone/answering machine, DSL Modem and Linksys rounter plugged into the Battery side of the unit. Three transformers with the size of the transformers is all I can fit on to the battery backup side without utilizing an extra power strip but for now, it is sufficient.
As my office computer and my personal computer are both notebooks, I don't need a UPS for them so I cannot speak to the software support.
I've had APC UPS's for years going back to the late 80's and they've always been a good value.
Next is to get one with cable support to protect my Television.
We've been having nasty thunderstorms this year. Cost me a Linksys router and a house full of smoke requiring a call to the Fire department due to a fried Sump Pump.
If I could afford to UPS my house, I would!
