The TravelDrive USB 2.0 flash drive offers users a convenient way to store data, digital photos, video and MP3 files and then easily access them from any PC or Mac using the computer's USB port. The TravelDrive features a slim, cast aluminum design, pen-like cap, blue wrap around LED, and reinforced, drive-attached lanyard. The USB TravelDrive is now slimmer and cooler than ever before. Very easy to use right out of the box. I did not install the software that came with it, but had no problem simply plugging it into my Windows XP PC. Windows found it and configured it no problem. This little flash drive was a real deal when I bought it, considering the special price and free shipping. It worked perfectly the first time I used it. I don't understand the comments from other reviewers about slow transfer speed; I have had no problem with that. I use it to back up music files and other files I can't afford to lose. A lanyard cord is included if you need it. What's not to like?

But I did not like Buy.com shipping it UPS from Illinois (where I live) to Kansas CIty, back to Illinois (60 miles from my home), transferring it to USPS, where it sat for one week in the postal center where all of mail is sorted and delivered. The flash drive was worth waiting for.

These work great. I have never had a problem with these drives, they work fast,and data is easy to manipulate. Effective LED let's you know when it's working and the little round bump out makes it easy to grip. They might have made the cap an easy to see color instead of clear. Be prepared to misplace it unless you are very careful. Nice laniard and metal loop.

This is a low cost item. Great price actually. The speed of the drive is not high. It takes a while to load up, save, eject, and transfer, it has a lot of light blinking, but the speed is just not there. As another customer has stated, the clear cap is easy to loose. I thought that it was just because the person could not keep track of the item, but would you believe it, as soon as I took the drive out of the package, and plugged it into the comp., I could not find the cap, right in front of my face! Keep it in a brightly lit place, do not drop it if you can avoid it. Not convinced it is the best buy.

I ordered this drive online and had it sent to my home, then had my wife send it to me here in Iraq. It has tons of room and there were no problems. Just plug and play. It does not come with the U3 Software that does not work on Government computers so that was a plus. I was skeptical to order again from Buy.com, but they have redeemed themselves with me.

This has been reliable flash memory for me. I have about four different thumb drives, but the last two have been Memorex 1 and 2 gig drives. They work great! They come formatted in FAT or FAT16 as I recall, but I have used the "cmd" from the "run" option on the start button of a PC to reformat mine to NTFS, although this is not necessary. Virtually all PCs from Windows98 up recognize the drive and have no problem storing or retrieving files. This is very cost-effective memory!

Pulled the stick right out of the package and stuck it into my laptop. Laptop found it and I started transferring files. Work right off of the stick all the time, it feels faster then the harddrive. I only gave a 4 on the value because I've seen cheaper prices on thumbdrives of this size.

Just got this puppy and gave it a spin. It's a bit slimmer than the older models and you should just be able to place 2 of them next to each other at standard USB spacing. The cap is a tad loose and only starts gripping at the 50% insertion point but I don't plan to take it to racquetball. The cap can snap onto the back of the drive (even with lanyard string attached if you're careful) to keep it away from the vacuum cleaner. Mine arrived with only 765MB free space with no files showing so I reformatted to get the full 1.9 GB. It took about 8 1/2 minutes to write 600MB (900 files & folders) to the drive. That's about 1.25 MBs and it read back that same data to the HD in under a minute. A 580MB single file took 4.5 minutes to write. The activity light is on one side only so you might miss it depending on your USB orientation.

I wanted a slimmer flash drive to replace my Lexar JumpDrive, whose width made it impossible to fit into tight spots or recessed USB ports. I chose the Memorex for 1) its price and 2) its slimness. As for the former, it was cheaper than its competitors by a pretty wide margin. The size is good - much thinner and narrower than the chunky Lexar - but it's a little long so it juts out some once inserted. One gripe I have is with the seemingly slower I/O speed. I have no numbers to back this up but the Memorex feels slower than my Lexar. It also seems to access itself more frequently than the Lexar. All in all I perfer the Lexar's performance, but the smaller physical footprint of the Memorex makes it usable in more machines.

This drive installed seamlessly (windows XP) and operates just the way it is supposed to. Not an ugly duckling like so many of the lower priced flash drives. Only complaint is that the lanyard pretty much prevents putting the cap on the back end of the drive when the drive is inserted in the computer so you have to keep it in a safe place.

I use this flash drive to transfer student work from various pc's to printers. As an art educator, this is amazingly convenient. The drive may be plugged in while the pc is running and it immediately registers as a drive, available for upload and downloads without re-starting the pc. I use it to produce lessons at home, download, go to school, plug it into the smart board system and there it is! I wear it around my neck and don't have to carry files and art portfolios to and from school. It has changed my life!!! 2 gigs, makes it large enough to load and transfer pretty good sized multi media presentations, including power point and mpeg format video captures. I'm sure it accepts other formats also, as it's simply a storage device. I don't know now, how I ever got along without it!

I've used a lot of different flash drives, but I think this one tops them all for the price. I use a MAC and a PC on a regular basis and this device has no problem with either platform. It's pretty sturdy too. I am hard on mine but it holds up to the abuse. The only negative thing I could say about it is the USB plastic cap...what are you suppose to do with that thing when your plugging the devise in. And do people really where these drives on a lanyard around there neck? Anyway it's a great device That's why it gets a 5 out of 5.

This little puppy is great, plug and play all day. I was using a 512mb and it just wasen't enough space sometimes, now with the 2GB/2.0 I can actually move files from 1 PC to another faster than doing it over my network . Beats the heck out of those 1300+ floppys in the old days (3yrs. ago).
