<b>Overall:</b> I bought these speakers because they were cheap, looked stylish, and only wanted to use them to supplement my existing altec 4.1 system. I was hoping they would be a little better, but for the price I'm not complaining. I will soon be taking them to work.<br><br>
<b>Analysis:</b> First of all, for the price you will not find better speakers. These would be great for an office setting if you just want some light music on something a little better than laptop speakers, etc. If you are really into music or gaming, however, these will leave you wanting more. Like all cheap speakers, they lack the depth of more expensive speakers. If you spend even just $20 more for some mid-level speakers by logitech you will be much more satisfied.<br><br>

Cheap, hollow sound. Poor bass

Speakers perform awesome for the price. Wiring hookup was easy, and sound is good, not great, but for the price these can't be beat. Bass gets a little distorted with the volume up. I bought 2 sets, one for gaming and one for tunes in the office - works great for both. Power LED on the right speaker is a little bright. Very happy with my purchase! Was this review helpful?

The speakers are not bad. For the price, you can really expect a pair of space-conscious, modern-looking speakers that have decent sound, although far from great. The speakers perform above their size, and the speakers themselves are great. The subwoofer is the weaker part of the three. If you want to listen to music with clear bass,(which is why I purchased these speakers) don't count on these speakers. For everyday PC speaker use, they are quite adequate.
Although the specs say 20 watts of subwoofer power, my older 17 watt Creative subwoofer at 1/4 power ousts the subwoofer in this set when at full blast. I was disappointed to see that as I turned up the subwoofer, the tone became significantly muddier (MUCH less sharp), resembling AM radio sound. With an equilizer on Winamp, I customized and fixed the bass output, but was nonetheless disgruntled. Don't look for thump on these speakers unless you have an sound equalizer, but I'm not sure if the subwoofer can handle long periods of this.
All the knobs are on the right speaker, which makes for easy adjusting, a good advantage of the speakers. Also, since the speakers plug into both the input and output (headphone/mic) plugs on the computer, there are the same plugs on the right speaker as well, for easy access and no switching required.
The speakers are very small for a 3-piece set, and can be transported with ease, which in turn explains their sound.
Computer, everyday use, look here; music or games, look elsewhere. Was this review helpful?
