The router was easy to setup and use. It has excellent range and speed without dead spots noted. Would definitely recommend this to others looking for a good router at a reasonable price.

I bought this product for use on my PS3. I was a little skeptical about purchasing it since it seems to be marketed towards the XBox and PS2 platforms. Nevertheless, after set up (with only a home network setback) the router works as advertised. I would recommend this for anyone with the early version of the PS3 platform that doesn't have built in WiFi capabilities (20GB models). This is a much nicer option than running cable and is very user friendly.

This is a great buy for your money. I actually purchased this on previous reviews. It was an easy set-up. I have excellent signal and the speed is great!

Do not buy this router. Buy a Linksys. 1) it does not have any better range than the Linksys. I have used both in the same setup. They are exactly the same. "rangemax" is BS. 2) it does not work. I have had never ending problems 3) Their support is only free for 90 days. After agreeing to pay them for telling me what is wrong with their product, here is I sit on hold on their "premium line". I should have stuck with the Linksys. Do not make the same mistake.

Easy setup. Simple upgrading process. Excellent signal. Far out distances the old Linksys WRT54G.

I bought this router due to the positive feedback of many customers and join their praise of this product. I installed it in less than ten minutes and it has not disconnected or failed in over one week. The Linksys router I replaced was a new top of the line model (wrt54gx4) and it never stayed connected for more than 30 minutes. I called tech support, did all the "fixes", and nothing worked. This is my second Netgear (my old one only supported 11b and WEP and I wanted g support as well as WPA). You will not go wrong with this unit.

Really a great router! The only problem I had setting it up came from not following the directions. It's worked perfectly since replacing my old wired router. Range seems really quite good, signal strength also.

I bought this as a replacement for my Netgear WGT624(?) router which kept needing recycling when used with long downloads under Linux. The problem went away as soon as I replaced it with this router. Setup was fairly easy (same as the other Netgear was). I do not notice any improvement in speed, only having resolved the crashing problem I had before. The only negative I found is that it is much larger than the old one.

I was using a SMC2804wbr for the last 5 years. It did quite well, but we typically have 20-25 routers operating in our building and the interference was regularly knocking the SMC out. The Netgear one has been rock solid -- not even 1 reset in 2 weeks of operation and a relatively steady signal. wired ethernet performance has been fine too plug and play -- checked whether I should upgrade firmware or change settings and did not need to do anything

Great product from Netgear. Quality is great and so is the signal strength. Installation was super easy. Didn't even need the provided CD or literature. Its pretty much plug and play. The FW on the router was up-to-date so no trouble there. It is a little larger than I was expecting and the constant flashing LEDs bother me at times. Definitely keep this out of your bedroom.

I was a bit apprehensive about a wireless router, but I've had fewer problems with this router than with wired routers I've owned in the past. It sets up very easily. We have a two-story house with approximately 2,000 square feet of space and we are still able to get a signal anywhere in the house that we've tried. We also have a desktop computer with a wireless connection and it seems just as fast as a wired one. The lights on top of the unit, that some people find annoying, can be turned off by the push of a button. It's been a few months and we haven't really had any significant problems. I think I've only had to reset the connection once or twice and only once did the laptop have a problem getting a signal, but that resolved itself within a few minutes. Setting up password protection is easy and it also allows you to enter a code into your own computers so that you don't have to keep re-entering the password every time you want to go on the Internet. The router also allows for wired connections, so we have an additional computer connected by ethernet cable and a Vonage router connected as well. I'm very satisfied with this router.

I suppose the bandwidth would be better but my router is located very far from my PC. The walls of my home are constructed out of plaster/slats of wood (very old construction) and I still get adequate speeds which means the range is excellent. I'm sure this router would perform even better if I had a Netgear wireless network card but I have one from Linksys. Setup was rediculously easy.

My computer adapters are all 'G' so I didn't need anything faster. I bought this to replace a very old Netgear router. I've been very happy with Netgear - very easy to set up and configure and a smaller footprint. The light show on this one is a bit much but I've read that you can turn it off. Just haven't gotten there yet as mine is located in a room where it doesn't bother anyone. I hoped that the signal would be a bit stronger than the old router but my laptop computers don't record an appreciable difference in signal quality, however, I am experiencing fewer drops so there is possibly a constraint with the wireless adapters on the computers themselves.

I have been using this router since November of 2006, and have never experienced any problems so far. Buy.com arrived this product just on time in perfect condition! Buy.com is so much better than Newegg, that their honesty is appreciable. No drop signals, and works like a charm. Buy (.com) it!

I bought this router to solve a connection issue that my brother was having while attempting to connect to a router that I set up about two stories above him. He always got a "Low" to "Very Low" signal but was still able to connect for a while but recently, the connection started dropping altogether. After reading several reviews I decided to buy the Netgear Rangemax. The setup was ok, I ran into a couple of snags but it was pretty straightforward. When I connected to the router, I was impressed. The signal strength was fluctuating between "Very Good" and "Good" with an occasional "Low" but never dipping to "Very Low". What can I say?, it works as advertised. I'm also using '802.11g' wireless adapters. I wonder if there would be any improvement if I were to upgrade.

This router is ridiculous. I have used other routers in the past that all claim to be able to provide full, unimpeded coverage, but they have all failed to do what this guy does. I can literally use my laptop anywhere in my house -- up, down, left, right - ANYWHERE!

I've had linksys and dlink routers in the past with ok experience with some of them. This netgear router is painless to setup and pretty straight forward. Extra optional parental security features and the ability to block out sites and programs. This will be the only thing you'll need for years to come.

Extra range allows all my computers equipped with PreN to recieve good to excellent signals throughout my using area. Just be sure to use the security features to restrict others from logging on! Even using 111g equipped laptops the range seems better and signal stronger. My only gripe is the cost for something allready obsolete since 111n has been approved. Also, the current driver for the USB 2 adapter is 32bit, with no plans I know of for updating it to 64bit for Vista compatability.

I had a d-link router that did not work well. I read the reviews of this product and bought it. Everything others said is true: it is so easy to set up and it works wonderfully. Excellent product and a very good price.

I was having trouble with my Linksys constantly dropping my internet connection, I tried everything to fix it, I finally got a different router. I have been very pleased with my Netgear router I purchased from Buy.com. It is easy to set up, has great range, lots of features and most of all its been solid. I highly recommend it.

If you get the WPN824 <b>v2</b>, there is a push-button switch on the back panel that turns off the silly lights on top of the router. So much for Netgear's implication that the lights "served a purpose and couldn't be turned off" in documentation supplied for the earlier version. <br><br> Netgear says you can't specify a particular version (V1 or V2) when ordering this product on the web. You get whatever is on the shelf. <br><br> They could have released a firmware update for the first version to allow turning off the lights in the web management, but I think the lamps are hard-wired into the circuitry. Hence the mechanical switch to turn them off in the V2 version.<br><br>Other than that, it's a great device!

Installed with no major problems and it's running flawlessly for last 6 months. I use it with all kinds of wireless adapters - all of them show huge improvment in reception with this router.

"A Customer from Chesapeake, VA," wrote that the blue light on his Netgear RangeMax was annoying; I find it pretty cool, but, interestingly, my accessories in the box included a little cover that blocks the light completely. Maybe there's one in his/her box, too; it's easily overlooked.

Bigger footprint than the Super G Router. The blue light on top has to go, it is really annoying having a blue light go around and around. There was no need for that and Netgear says it cant be turned off. I bet future versions will not have it. I didn't notice any improved range using this router over my existing Netgear 624 super G router.

I am a A+ certified PC technician, and there was no way to get a decent wireless signal out of my basement. The room where my network is based is sound proofed which kills every attempt I make to boast the signal. I was going to get a access point to extend the coverage but I decided to try the RangeMax. WOW, that’s all I can say. The setup was easy and if you use the cd it walks you right thru it. As a test I hooked my laptop up and started walking up the stairs from the basement, half way up the steps the signal had already dropped to 50%, I stopped at that point and within 15 seconds the signal had returned to full strength. The auto reconfigure feature of the 7 antennas actually worked. Using this same procedure I was able to get between 50% and full signal from every corner of my house.

I have been blown away by the product. Not only was the setup wizard easy to go through (I'm not a techie) but the product itself has surpassed my expectations. I'm not getting of any wireless performance degradation through the many walls in my house. (2 story) The range of the RangeMax eclipses the range of my old wireless router. I am free to roam to any corner of the house!!!

This is the first time I have written a product review. But I was so skeptical that any wireless router was going to solve my dead spots and poor connections in my home that when this did, I feel like I have to let others know. I was convinced that my home is an electromagnetic black hole because I have difficulties with every device I have in the house. My wireless laptop had great connection with other Netgear routers in every other environment but my house. I replaced my router with a Netgear WGR 614 (g) in the fall, 2004 and my connectivity was still unreliable. I have a Dell Inspiron 5100 with an internal wireless card. Unless I was within 15 feet of the router, my connection would fade in and out and when it was in, it would only transmit at 3-5 mbps. Needless to say, my wireless experience was disappointing at best. The claims of this Rangemax seemed too good to be true. But it is true! It was easy to set up (even for a mom!) with the included set-up wizard on CD-ROM. And now I can move all over the house, in the yard, near the home entertainment center, near the laundry appliances (lots of metal which killed my signal before) and I keep a strong signal and the speed is never lower than 18 mbps! Awesome! And I'm still using the internal wireless card. At first I thought the price was a little much considering my current router was less than a year old, but it was worth every penny. If you're having connectivity problems, give it a try!
