1 of 5 3 year old used product sold as new Wednesday, July 29, 2009
Angry Customer from Phoenix, AZ

I got this product in a beat up box granted everything was inside. I had Cox cable come out to set it up and this device was from their company in a managers office. It had been used for about 2 years before being deemed unacceptable on their network due to intermittent problems. I am very unhappy I was sold a "new" product that clearly wasn't.

5 of 5 Working GREAT with Comcast HSI. Sunday, March 15, 2009
Very Satisfied Owner from San Francisco, CA
My device is the newer Version 2, and I had no problems at all getting it set up with Comcast. Also, my device only has one antenna, not the 2 pictured here. So far I am impressed with the very solid operation over both the wired and wireless connections. I would recommend this to anyone who is tired of trying to juggle 2 or 3 different devices just to get all the functions this device has in one compact housing.

1 of 5 Stay Away Saturday, December 01, 2007
A Customer from Lebanon, CT
This is a defective product. Out of the Box the unit would only connect at 2.5 MBs, and I have a 5MBs ISP. After I tweeked, it to 4.9 MBs and the Wireless options - 'drop' under a large file download. The wired option works fine. Linsys offers no support for this problem! I have read all 18 pages on the Linsys support page - spanning over 2 years and it all points to a poor wireless product. I am only 4 feet from the modem, on my laptop. I have had: drops, total modem resets, and even resets of the connection name and SES type. Phone support is via inexpierenced non-US speakers... This unit is a constant problem. I have given up trying to download college videos thru the wireless port. Read what other 'burned' users have to say: http://forums.linksys.com/linksys/board/message?board.id=Cable&message.id=14

1 of 5 WCG200 dropout problems Monday, August 13, 2007
W from Tucson
The WCG200 seems to have problems that Linksys can’t or won’t fix. See the discussion thread at linksys.com in their Community Forums section under Support->Technical Support called “WCG200 Dropping Internet”. It dates from the present to as far back as July 2006. I am experiencing the problems described. Disapointing...

5 of 5 A nice substitute for my old stuff Thursday, October 12, 2006
Alex from Elgin, IL
This device was pretty easy to setup. I got it to use with my Comcast cable service. The device is supported by Comcast. I had to call the tech support to have them enable the modem part as a substitute for the modem I was renting from Comcast. So far it works great. Fast Internet access and reliable wireless, which reaches in all the areas of my house -- all that I was looking for. Overall, this is a nice replacement for my old modem, wireless router and a switch. Good value for the money.

5 of 5 still satisfied after 13 months Thursday, March 02, 2006
A Customer from Hayward, CA
I've had my Linksys Wireless-G Cable Gateway for over a year, and it is still working great. I have the router in a bedroom and my computer is in the living room 40 feet away and through a wall, and reception is perfect 98% of the time. 1% of the time, there is a little slowness, and 1% of the time, there is apparently interference and the connection drops. I have Comcast high speed cable internet in the east bay near San Francisco. General reliability of the Comcast internet connection still occassionally has issues, but it is nice that there is just one unit, and that Comcast supports that unit. It takes the guesswork out of trying to determine if internet problems are a problem with the router or with the cable modem. Now, I can call Comcast with more confidence when the connection goes down. I've tried many wireless routers. First I tried a Netgear wireless router, don't remember the model. I stopped using it (actually, if you must know, I threw it on the ground and stomped on it). I then tried and returned the Belkin Wireless Pre-N Router. Finally got this one, and though it's not perfect (no wireless router is), it's definitely been the best.

1 of 5 WCG200 Version 2 is not compatible with Comcast Wednesday, September 14, 2005
Comcast Cable High Speed Internet Customer from Chadds Ford, PA
WCG200 Version 2 is not certified by Comcast. It comes with the firmware version 2.0.3.5.1 which is not supported by Comcast. After spending hours with Comcast and Linksys tech support, I am now in the process of returning this gateway to Linksys in exchange for version 1 which they promised.

5 of 5 Awesome device Wednesday, June 01, 2005
mikid from Bend, OR
They even have 24 hour tech suport --routes to a call center in Malaysia. I've called twice, once to get help with 128bit wifi encryption, the other with mac address fixed ip assignment. Both times they were awesome. The router will even send you email if someone tries to hack it! It was nice to finaly integrate my cable modem, hub and wifi into one device. I get great wifi throughout the house. No more cat-5 runs, just wifi cards in all my machines. Life is good...

5 of 5 Simple, fast installation Sunday, October 17, 2004
Roy from Philadelphia, PA
Installed cable router into a new Comcast installation. Only problem was with Comcast's provisioning at their facility -- they got the MAC address incorrectly recorded. Unit has worked flawlessly ever since (4 months so far). Installation and configuration was very simple & straight-forward. So satisified with my office installation that I have utilized the unit in client engagements since. Unit is "Certified" by Comcast and is subject of a joint press release by Comcast and Linksys -- therefore, there should be no grousing about the unit being supported in Comcast hookups.

5 of 5 excellent product Wednesday, September 01, 2004
JS from Sterling Heights Mi
the only few problem i have found with this modem/gateway is that when you want to sign in to you modem their is a spot for you to put a name and password but it won't let you remember it even though it has a spot for you to remember it. the only thing it needs is a password which you can cahnge and save but it won't remember it. and the last thing you do need is that you need the antennas they make for extra db gain if not you signal is crud but once you install them your perfect no problems. the real best thing is about thi modem is that you cable company cannot max you out on your end they may be able to do it on their end but my end says i am getting 5.5 megs a sec although i am paying for 3.3 megs.

5 of 5 This in my opinion is the best unit I have bought Sunday, August 22, 2004
professional5158 from Sterling Heights Mi
When I first got the unit it was a little hard to hook up not linksys fault it was the cable company fault they have this new program called the wireless home networking and they want you to go threw them and pay 199.00 for install and 99.00 for the modem and then another 9.99 per month for the home networking setup well I argued and argued and they finally said we will try to set it up like a normal modem becasue what i had before was a motorola modem and a linksys wrt54g router and i had home netowrking with that and sharing files and printers and such so whats the big deal useing this instead it all came down to money and making ure i had a modem/router that wa flashed with comcast software/firmware. just a way to make a buck same l corporation bull**** but any way after having it a week so far it is a dream i love it less room taken up and a better siganl if you buy linksys high gain tnc attennas. thanks linksys I love your products now it time to get some better firmware out their for this product so we have better control over our units.
