4 of 5 Great value KVM Wednesday, September 10, 2008
A Customer from Howell, NJ

It does exactly what it's supposed to do. I replaced a old expensive KVM with this one. There is a big improvement in video quality. The small size makes it easy to hide. The only complaint is the clumsy hot key sequence for switching. It works fine but would be much more convenient with fewer then the the 5 key presses required.

5 of 5 Good KVM Friday, August 06, 2004
A Customer from Fremont, CA
There is not much to say about KVMs, if they meet the resolution and response time requirements. This one, however, has a nifty feature: You can switch ports with hot keys. This feature is what I appreciate the most. Since I prefer to leave the cable mass behind my desk, the KVM box has to be out of sight too. It would be a hassle to press the button on the KVM switch to be able to switch ports. As far as reliability goes, I've been using it for a year now, and never had an issue with it. The only downside to this is, it does not have audio integrated with it. But hey, if you're running servers, there's no need for audio.

4 of 5 laptop compatibility gotchas Tuesday, March 02, 2004
A Customer from San Francisco, CA
word of warning when using this with a laptop: if one of the machines attached to the KVM switch is a laptop, switching to and from the laptop often causes the PS/2 mouse to get 'lost' by the non-laptop computers attached, and not work. support says this is a voltage thing, that laptops as a whole don't provide the correct amount of power for the mouse ports.

5 of 5 Very good, one caution Friday, September 12, 2003
intech from North Canton OH
This is a very good and reliable unit. One compatability issue I ran into though was getting the keyboard to function after switching between two Dell computers. IOGEAR tech support confirmed that "the Dells don't provide enough power to the PS/2 port for the keyboard." It's probably just a motherboard issue, but something to keep in mind. They recommend the GSC83B switch instead.

5 of 5 Excellent value, works well. Thursday, March 27, 2003
A Customer from Seattle, WA
Excellent value, and works right out of the box. The four cables provided alone are worth $70. Very good buy if you don't need to share audio speakers among the machines.

5 of 5 Excellent KVM but no expansion option Thursday, June 20, 2002
TreborG2 from Marshall, Va
I purchased mine 8 months ago, have not had any problems with it. The ONLY negative to this KVM is that you can not gang or chain multiple units and control them without having physical access to the KVM's.
Meaning, if you hook two KVM's together, you can use keyboard controlls to switch ports on the FIRST KVM, but the second or any other's can not be controlled by keyboard.
This is really a small problem for average home users that just needs to switch between (up to) 4 PC's on one KVM.
And this KVM is also compatible with the SUN Keyboard module (80 dollars each) which would allow you to add a sun onto the KVM.

5 of 5 Works Great Thursday, March 21, 2002
Dan from Tiffin, OH
Installation is nothing more than plugging each set of included cables into the machines to be controlled. Worked with no problems. Slight delay as you switch between computers. Use the button on the Miniview to switch between machines or hotkey. Hotkey to another machine by pressing ALT-CTRL-SHIFT on the same side of the keyboard, then press 1,2,3, or 4 for the port desired and hit enter. Good device for the money.
