5 of 5 Great PC for standard work and XP is a plus Thursday, February 14, 2008 Paul from DFW, Texas
I had to replace my daughter's computer that was fried by an exploding electrical transformer and did not want to have to mess with Vista. The price is great, the performance is more than acceptable especially using XP Pro. I needed to uninstall the standard trial junk, but after that it was great. Dropped into our XP network with no problems. The hard drive is smaller than I would normally go with, but since I can pick up another 400-500GB on for about $100 I'm not that worried about it. I was shocked at the shipping speed on this. I ordered it with the standard free shipping and expected it to take a week or more. I arrived the next day because it was shipped out of a warehouse in Dallas. Was this review helpful?

My mom needed a new PC, cost and Vista was a big issues. The dx2250 Business machine was perfect. The 80GB hard drive has 10GB set a side for recovery, no XP disk. The partion is too small to back up the completey setup system, just the XP pro. Lots of few day trials programs needed to be uninstalled. After installing all the updates and MP11, IE7, current MS extra's, MS Works 2006, Printer, 2 Bible programs, internet security Anti Virus and Spy ware remover about 39GB left over. Mombo is stable but set to the lower end of hardware performance, it's not a Gamming PC, but sure internets well, and 39GB will hold a lot of 2mb pictures and 25KB recipes. I backed up the finished PC on my portable drive, and burned a XP restore disk. The HP Care made it easy. The mini tower has room for and extra hard drive and has 4 availble PCI slots for expantion. I would buy the dx2250 again. Was this review helpful?

5 of 5 Good computer, Great Deal Wednesday, November 28, 2007 will from Annapolis MD
I'm a computer consultant and I've been very pleased with these computers as product to sell. My customers are happy and there is room for markup while keeping cost reasonable. This computer's advantages to me are running XP Pro, the best O/S Microsoft has yet released, on a very modern piece of hardware with plenty of memory, it's great. That's the same configuration I use on my personal PC. Customers prefer XP over Vista, and it runs great on this "Just Slightly Above Average" computer wheras Vista would run like a dog through mud - I've compared same processor and memory running Vista (different mainboard) and was displeased. This is where we should take computers, not bigger, slower O/S, but more power running a decent old, more efficient one. Thank you Buy.Com and HP! Was this review helpful?
