 Editor's Note
The original Pretenders--fronted by voice-for-the-ages Chrissie Hynde--made melodic, intelligent guitar rock that straddled the gap between punk's rawness and the ear candy of new wave pop, with a touch of '60s influence. For their first couple of albums, the band seemed untouchable, but the untimely deaths of guitarist James Honeyman-Scott and bassist Pete Farndon threw the remaining Pretenders for a loop. They rebounded gorgeously, however, with 1984's LEARNING TO CRAWL, and soldiered on from there. Decades later, the Pretenders remain rock legends, and Hynde one of the greatest rock frontwomen. GREATEST HITS presents music videos from some of their best-loved songs from throughout their entire career. From videos of early songs like "Kid," "Stop Your Sobbing," and "Brass in Pocket," to later efforts such as "Don't Get Me Wrong" and VIVA EL AMOR's "Human," fans can get a sense of how the band's image evolved over the years.
