5 of 5 very good one Wednesday, July 16, 2008 dw from MD
Now I charge my cell phone, ipod, bluetooth with the Powermonkey eXplorer, especially when I travel. No need to use electricity. I also just got my rebate. Was this review helpful?
1 of 5 Terrible Quality Tuesday, July 08, 2008 A Customer from New York
Normally don't write reviews, but since I had to two defective products in a row I felt I needed to. The parts that come with it which you use to hook up different devices are not very sturdy and broke after one day.
I returned it and my new replacement doesn't work. I'm not allowed to return it and my rebate is beyond the time frame for it due to the replacement, I just lost $123.
Love the solar concept, but this products doesn't work. Probably why they have such a large rebate with any returns. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Good product, overpriced without rebate Monday, June 30, 2008 A Customer from Raleigh, NC
I bought this when the price after rebate was $10 (and yes, I got my rebate check). It works as advertised, although I have my doubts about the durability of the cable that hangs off the unit to power your device (why couldn't they have made this a detachable cable to allow for easy replacement when the inevitable happens; the APC rechargeable units have a mini-USB jack which allows for easy cable replacement). Handy gadget to have around. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Very good for the money Tuesday, June 24, 2008 runmas@windstream.net from Flatwoods, KY
I purchased the solar version as well to compare to the non-solar. Unlike some of the users below, my rebate process for both chargers seemed to have gone smoothly, have been approved, and am waiting for the checks.
PROS: Very good price after rebate. Adapters for most cell phones, but not all.
CONS: Unit takes all day to charge unless it is sitting outside in direct sunlight. This might be inconvenient for someone who is looking for a quick charge. Also, light on unit never turns green to let you know it is fully charged. Was this review helpful?

This is quite a product. Now I charge my cell phone, ipod, bluetooth with the Powermonkey eXplorer. No need to use electricity. I also just got my rebate. So you people who think that this is a scam, you're way off. This is a very good gadget to have, especially if you are into renewable energy source. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Great for emegency power Monday, June 16, 2008 A Customer from Cleveland, OH
I went on a 6 hour trip not realizing the car charger for my phone was not going to work in my brother's car. I realized 2 hours into the trip my phone had gone completely dead. I set the power monkey on the dash on a hot sunny day till it had enough power. Once it charged up I connected it to my phone and it gave me 3 out of 4 bars of charged this included talking on the phone a little while it was charging. This is the greatest gadget to have. I can't believe how many numbskulls gave this product a bad review simply because the rebate processor's web site was temporarily down. This is a PRODUCT REVIEW, not a rebate processor review. People read these reviews to determine whether the PRODUCT is good or not. Giving a bad review to this product simply because you had to wait two days to submit the rebate is moronic. What are you people, twelve years old? Grow up and be responsible. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 WOW! Thursday, May 29, 2008 A Customer from Roseville CA
Great product - worth the money even without such a surprising rebate! Charges all of my portable electronic equipment (ipod, nokia n800, moto cellphone & bluetooth headset, and even a sandisk sansa via the usb adapter without any problems. Not one hiccup yet! Love it!!! Oh, and Buy's superfast FREE shipment an unexpected benefit. (FYI, no problem filing for rebate either.) Was this review helpful?

5 of 5 rebate site was working fine as of 10 PM Tues nigh Wednesday, May 28, 2008 another customer from derby, ct
just received the product...am charging it now. Seems pretty neat and quite flexible-have not used it yet -thus performance of 3.. and i submitted my rebate request online last night about 10 PM.
went ok...thought 9% charge for the speedy option seems sort of steep.

I have also been unable to submit a rebate. I am receiving a .NET Framework error. I am concerned because they require the rebate to be submitted within 30 days of purchase, however the only method for submitting the rebate does not work. Has anyone found a way to submit the $100 rebate? Was this review helpful?

BUYER'S BE AWARE THE REBATE IS CURRENTLY NOT WORKING!!!
This review is for REBATE ISSUES ONLY, I have NOT receive the item and therefor cannot rate it.
I ordered this unit earlier this week and the rebate site worked. I yesterday order another one but in the color blue and had the same problem with the .NET error when trying to access the rebate. They must be having trouble with the site. Hopefully its back up soon! Suggest starting the rebate before purchasing this item. $100 is a lot of money if they do not fix this error. I have canceled my order for the blue unit today due to the rebate issues. I just can't take the chance. If I later find the site to be working I will reorder the item.
In the mean time everyone write Buy.com (and worldwiderebates.com if you can find some way to contact them, I have been unable to succeed at this) about the issue. Good Luck Everyone! Was this review helpful?

Same issue as other reviewer...rebate is a hoax. The online form gives nothing but errors when you attempt to use it. Was this review helpful?
5 of 10 customers found this review helpful. 1 of 5 Has anybody gotten the rebate form to work? Saturday, May 24, 2008 A Customer from Raleigh, NC
This looks like a good deal, but I'm concerned about claiming a $100 rebate. Everytime I try to file the online rebate (three different computers and two different operating systems) I get a Microsoft.Net error -- something about the street name -- and it won't let me complete the rebate process. No email links or useful help links from the WorldWideRebates website, either. I'd be VERY careful if the rebate is important to you. Was this review helpful?
