A group of good ol' boys in Paradise, Michigan send to Russia for a mail order bride as a joke on the toughest, rowdiest, dirties one of them all. When young, beautiful Viktoria (Russian singing sensation Natalie Nazarova) arrives and discovers that her husband-to-be is a yet to be reformed misogynist twice her age, it's a kink in her plan to start a new life in America. When the tough-as-nails barmaid Reenie (Tantoo Cardinal) reluctantly takes her in, she discovers Viktoria has no ticket home. At the town bar, the Dirty Shame, they set up a tip jar for her cause and begin a cross-cultural friendship. Taking lessons in the American dream from Reenie, Viktoria quickly becomes the teacher, as the citizens of Paradise gain a new perspective and Viktoria crafts her own version of the dream.

This charming romantic comedy is set in the small town of Paradise, Michigan. After a group of friends play a prank on their friend by ordering him a mail order bride from Russia, the beautiful Viktoria (Natalie Nazarova) arrives. Discovering that her husband is a close-minded, ignorant pig, she shacks up with the tough Reenie (Tantoo Cardinal). With the aid of Reenie and the patrons at the local bar, a collection is started to help Viktoria make her way back to Russia. But along the way, Viktoria manages to teach the small town residents a very valuable lesson about living the American Dream. Russian pop star Nazarova delivers a magnetic performance in her feature-film debut.
