5 of 5 Great Card for 46$!!!!! Monday, June 30, 2008
A Customer from Brooklyn, NY
This card sells on Tigerdirect for 90$ (70$ on sale), got it on buy.com for 86$ with 40$ mail-in rebate. So for 46$ it's great. The clock speed on the card is 540gpu/720mem stock. I downloaded riva tuner and the latest nvidia drivers and was able to overclock the card to 640/840 with the core temp going up just 2 degrees. the card performs great in bioshock at 1280x768 res. with everything turned on high. any higher resolution and the frames drop considerably. on 3dmark my scores were low but then again im running a e7200 cpu on an intel matx mobo with 2gb ram so i wasnt surprised. 3dmark scores are heavily dependant on the system u run your video card on. my advice is if you're getting an nvidia card, make sure to get a mobo with nvidia chipset built it like the nforce series. nividia has a program called ntune u can download that analizes your whole pc and overclocks it to stable levels automatically. i couldn't do this cause of the intel mobo. thus i had to overclock the card separately with riva tuner.

5 of 5 GreatProduct Great Price Monday, June 23, 2008
Lynn Bankston from Covington, Georgia
I bought this item and it was $46 after rebate, I can't hardly believe that I received the rebate in 14 days. I usually have to wait 2 to 3 months. The card works great. I would buy again. Buy.com shipped the item out very fast as usual.

4 of 5 Good value, loud fan Tuesday, June 03, 2008
Mike from Cincinnati, OH
This card is a good deal- I run Far Cry, Half-Life 2, and Portal at maxed out settings (1680x1050) and it performs very well. It even does a good job of handling Crysis on medium settings. MAKE SURE you take off the sticker on the fan though, after a couple weeks my computer started to make an awful whining noise and I couldn't figure out what it was. It turns out the glue that holds the sticker to the fan heats up and the sticker begins to slide and jam the fan blades. Overall, the card has a very good performance to price ratio and I recommend it for casual gamers.

1 of 5 PNY DOESN'T BACK WARRANTY Tuesday, June 03, 2008
dneil123 from Fort Wayne IN
I will never buy a PNY product again, they don't honor their warranty as it is stated on their product box. They told me it doesn't matter what it states on the box and they refused to fix it.

4 of 5 Excellent Monday, June 02, 2008
A Customer from New Jersey
Very nice card for the money. As the other two reviews have said, they need to stop putting a sticker on the fan. The card gets hot and the glue softens. I was glad to get read the review and removed the stickers when I heard a noise.

5 of 5 Good Value for Mid-High Level Gaming Wednesday, May 28, 2008
mjguilly83 from Lafayette
I purchased this card to pair with the 8600GT 256mb I already had. This card does very well in SLI mode, especially for a total price of about $180. Granted, a single 8800 GTS would probably run a touch better, but if you can find two 8600 GT cards for less it's a good value. In SLI mode I am currently running Age of Conan on very high settings at 1600x1050 resolution with a solid 30+ FPS, similar performance with Oblivion. I'm very happy with the "value" of this card, but performance is a bit lacking compared to what is available. The only time I encounter a problem with this card is when Anti-Aliasing is enabled more than x2. With AA it doesn't deliver. Also, AoC was nearly unplayable on high settings in single GPU mode, but bearable on medium settings. Oblivion ran solid on medium-high settings in single GPU mode.

5 of 5 A decent videocard Saturday, May 24, 2008
A Customer from New Jersey
The card does what I wanted it to do - so far. I don't play games and I have used it to output to 1280x1024 from Windows XP. No issues but I realize these are very simple/non-stressful conditions.

5 of 5 Great but... Thursday, May 01, 2008
A Customer from Sterling Heights, MI
This card is great. I download nTune and can overclock. Two issues though: 1. It crashes Media Player whenever play a DVD. My PC is a Dell. 2. The PNY logo sticker on the fan was spinned off center due to heat. It caused noise and overheat. I removed it and it is good now.

5 of 5 I like the PNY 8600GT Wednesday, April 30, 2008
Joe from Illinois
I like this video card. Am not a gammer so wasn’t looking for a turbo card. My MB has a built-in graphics card and switching to the PNY 8600GT greatly improved the looks/performance of the LCD monitor. It also solved a graphics issue I was having with Nero 8. Some reviews say this card makes a lot of noise but I have not experienced that.

2 of 5 Other 8600GT cards are quieter Sunday, April 27, 2008
A Customer from Twin Cities, MN
I have tried a number of Dual DVI cards, including others with the 8600GT chipset. This PNY 8600GT's fan is loud. If you want a quiet card, try the eVGA version of the 8600GT - the fan is almost silent.

5 of 5 Pull sticker off before installing Monday, April 21, 2008
A Customer from Everytown, USA
Pny sticker slides of center of fan after card heats up, could cause to overheat if you do not catch it in time.

5 of 5 GREAT CARD Sunday, April 20, 2008
A Customer from Green Bay, WI
I'm not a gamer, but I do edit a lot of video. The card has performed flawlessly. I appreciate the many adapters and options for various display types - That was well thought out by the manufacturer. I purchased this item on sale with a rebate - Remarkably the check from PNY arrived in just 19 days! That's probably the quickest rebate I've ever gotten.

3 of 5 Good card, with some glitches Friday, April 04, 2008
A Customer from Central Jersey
Got the card from Buy.com for a real good price, and that is the main reason I bought the card. Card shipped in two days to my door, installation was breezy. However, the card start to make noise after 2 hr of usage. As it turns out, the stupid sticker on top of the heatsink fan came off the fan head and slowing down the fan considerably. Taking off the glued sticker off solved the problem of intermittent noise, but the fan is still noisy. Other than the card noise, I really hate how hot it runs even at idle, in my case 58C.
