This was a very well priced part. the best price I could find and in addition, it was in stock. It shipped quickly and arrived very fast with no damage. It was easy to install and functions great. I bought 2 1GB of memory from PNY though Buy.com. as an upgrade from 1gb to 3 gb It was delivered immediately. I installed it with no problems. My computer then was very noisy and I realized it was my A floppy drive which didn't work for a while now, anyway, so I disconnected that at the same time. The noise stopped but my computer was slower then before I installed the ram. After not being about to figure out the problem, I contacted PNY. They called me the very next morning. As I was waiting for their help, I figured out that I did not disconnect the wire for the floppy from the mother board and that was what was causing the slow down. When PNY called me I thanked them for their prompt service, although I explained the mistake was mine and all was working great now.
I am now very happy with the RAM and also with PNY company for their prompt call back.

Memory is pretty much a commodity product. I am happy with the value I received for the price I paid. If another NAME BRAND stick would have been offered at a better price, I would have gone for it. But the PNY is quite acceptible. 2 minor negatives: The PNY packaging could be more secure. It flexed during shipment and the memory was partially dislodged from its "bubble". And, uncharacteristicly for buy.com, the package was somewhat slow to arrive - probably because Buy sent it via USPS instead of UPS. Oh well. I did opt for free budget shipping. I bought mine for $29.00 and free shipping; insatlled it, and it worked. I tripled my memory to 1.5 GB Ram. For some reason I did not notice a significant improvement in my Dell Dimesion 3000 performance. Maybe my system was already fast enough. the memory works perfectly; two year old compaq 3000+ using an AMD processor and running windows xp recognized the memory after i installed it and booted without a hitch. it took me more time to figure out how to open the case on this compaq than to install the memory stick. it has noticeably improved performance. i think i just avoided buying a new computer!
best part was that Buy.com got the memory to me in TWO days with standard shipping. i ordered on Monday and it was on my doorstep Wednesday before i got home for lunch. i have no idea how they did that, but, very nice surprice! Was this review helpful?

I searched many online companies looking for the best price and the winner was Buy.com. Since I knew exactly what I wanted, the only critieria important to me was the total price including shipping.
The memory stick arrived as promised and was securely packaged. No problems with installation (which I did myself) and no problem with compatability. Definitely a noticeable improvement in speed on my older computer.

Took minutes to put it in. Computer sensed it right away. The computer does not open a lot faster but programs are screaming fast now and many can now be running at the same time without the computer slowing down like it used to before.
