Did my comparison shopping and this won. Had the jawbone and didn't like it that much. The 510 is the best hands down, now that I have had it for several months. Bulkier than most but you know that before you buy it anyway. Sound is great, fits in ear perfect, holds power for a long time. I recommend to anyone. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Still a good headset Tuesday, July 14, 2009 TF from Vancouver, WA
I had the 510 for about 3 1/2 years. It still worked when I replaced it with a 925. The only reason I did was because after using it daily for that long, the thing just wore out. It was falling apart and there are only so many repairs you can make to it. It did have the occasional noise issue, but not often. Battery still holds a charge. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Great product Monday, May 11, 2009 fjm from stafford, va
Rated performance as a 4 only because it picks up noise depending on the wind angle. Other than that, it works great. It was easy to pair. The fitting over the ear is more comfortable than others I have tried. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 3rd 510 due to Dog Thursday, April 23, 2009 Gary from Cherry Hill, New Jersey
This is my third 510 purchased from Buy.com. I've tried the jawbone and could not get the thing to stay in my ear. This unit fits over your ear. I wear it everywhere and it won't fall off my head. Easy to use and the sound quality in and out is superb. Don't spend more money. Buy this one. Now if I can just get my Golden to stop eating them! Was this review helpful?
1 of 1 customers found this review helpful. 5 of 5 Excellent headset Friday, April 10, 2009 A Customer from Santa Barbara, CA
I couldn't believe the difference between my old headset without noise cancellation and this Voyager 510. My car is really noisy and everyone can hear me without any problems now. No more yelling, repeating everything and having to finally switch to my phone. It is also super light and I often forget I wear it. Connects in seconds to my Nokia 6550. Overall, extremely happy. I highly recommend this headset. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Works perfect with my Blackberry Curve Monday, April 06, 2009 Bill G. from Dunedin, FL
I have tried many bluetooth headsets over the years. The Voyager 510 is the best overall headset I have used in terms of call clarity, ear fit, length of battery life and size. I have a Blue Parrot "over the head" bluetooth headset I love, but it is too big / distracting for use outside the office. The problem I have experienced with other small bluetooth headsets is they did not fit my ear correctly and always felt like they were going to fall out or the microphone was too far back on my face I had to cup my hand between my mouth and the microphone for the person to hear me clearly. None of those problems exist with the 510! The callers hear me clearly and I hear the callers clearly. And as a bonus it has a great battery life. I have yet to have the battery run out of juice before the end of my day.
The Voyager 510 is great! After using it for 3 weeks, I have already recommended it to several friends and business associates.

5 of 5 Works perfect with iPhone and overall Monday, March 23, 2009 tommy gunn from san diego, CA
After thoroughly researching the bluetooth market for the best value in price and functionality, I found the Voyager 510 was the highest rated and most recommended. Consumer reports also listed it as a best buy. Once I confirmed it worked with the iPhone I went for it.
Got the headset in 3 days and love it! Fits excellent, can barely feel it despite the perceived size of the earpiece. Sound and clarify are great, connection is great, ease of use was simple. Charged it for a few hours out of the box, and in 10 seconds was connected to the iPhone and in use.
Highly recommended. May also buy the handset lifter and use it for my office headset... Was this review helpful?

5 of 5 Pretty Happy for now Saturday, March 14, 2009 Tanya from Fort Atkinson, WI
I've only had the Voyager for a short time and so far have been very impressed. It's user friendly, very comfortable to wear, seems to pair easily with my Blackberry Curve, picks up calls that are made on the phone and that I want to switch to bluetooth. Good voice reception, people tell me that often can't even tell I'm on a headset. I'm pleased. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Pleased with the Voyager Sunday, March 08, 2009 A Customer from Blountsville Alabama
I am very pleased with the 510. It performs well and you can hear very well on it and people can also hear you very well. The fit is also one of the best features. I have a farm and sometimes need to talk while working and the 510 stayes fit to your ear very well and has not fell off yet. The only complaint I have with it is that when standing outside and the wind is blowing it makes it hard for people to hear you. Was this review helpful?

I got this for my wife b/c she must use her cell in the car alot, and I wanted her to be safer with a bluetooth headset. So I bought this primarily for use in the car...and it is GREAT! The noise reduction plus wind reduction technology really works well. Syncs easily in less than 2 minutes. Great buy. Was this review helpful?

4 of 5 Great Bluetooth/ Great Reception Wednesday, December 31, 2008 A Customer from Denton, Maryland
This bluetooth is one of the best I have used. I work in the IT field, and all of my co-workers use them constantly. I asked them questions about the 510 and was impressed by the reviews they gave me. I did the research on the net and then purchased one for myself. Everyone say's that the sound is clear, crisp, even better than the handset. Once you get the hang of which beep tells you what, your good to go. No one even knew I was using a bluetooth device. I have it paired with a LG VX8300. I think I will get one for both my husband and son. Was this review helpful?

At first I was not sure if I would like this bluetooth but now that I have it for 2 weeks I find it easy to use the sound quality is great no one can tell if I was using a bluetooth very clear and loud that you will have to put the volume down. Shipping was fast I would go for it. Was this review helpful?

5 of 5 Great Value and Quality! Sunday, October 05, 2008 Paul from Riverside, CA
I use my Voyager 510 Bluetooth Earset 8 hours a day, 5 days a week. It is the most comfortable bluetooth device I have owned. My job requires I drive all day and it is mandatory to use a hands free device in California. It does a great job of filtering out background noise so the sound quality is great. I was very impressed and purchased one for my wife too. Was this review helpful?

5 of 5 Have tried many - this is the best Thursday, August 14, 2008 A Customer from Albuquerque, NM
This Voyager510 will replace a Voyager510 that was shorted out by a salty fluid that apparently leaked from the pores in my skin while working in the yard. Sure is fortunate that bluetooth devices are very low voltage. The Voyager510 is an excellent unit. If it wasn't, I would not have bought another one.

4 of 5 Good but confusing. Tuesday, August 12, 2008 A Customer from San Jacinto, CA
The sound quality of this device is a lot better than the crappy bluetooth I had purchased for fifteen bucks. I like the fact that if you pick up the phone from the phone itself, the bluetooth doesn't automatically steal the sounds and mic from the cell phone. So if you get out of your car and get a call, but don't feel like putting the set back on, you can just pick up the cell like normal. However, it seems to be tricky to get the bluetooth to pick up after it's lost connection with the cell for a while. I almost feels unnecessarily complicated. I have yet to figure out how to make it work on my first try. For example if I make a call and I decide to switch to the bluetooth, it is impossible to do this. I press the dang button over and over, press and hold and nothing. I have come to the conclusion that the cell has to be shut (I have a clam shell type) then press the call button. Once the speech program kicks in, you simply press and hold till the bluetooth snatches the sound and mic.
Overall, I think this is a great product, but the fact that it's complicated to get it to pick up after not using it for about 2 hours or more is very annoying, which is always my case. Was this review helpful?
1 of 5 Horrible mic sound quality compared to Jawbone Friday, July 18, 2008 Sasha from San Francisco, CA
I thought I got myself a great bluetooth device based on all these glowing reviews before idiotic California hands-free law kicked in in July, but - alas: the microphone in this Plantronics model really sucks! Most of my friends tell me I sound loud yet distorted and muffled at the same time. Some ask me to repeat what I said every other sentence. I'm using it with LG Chocolate phone. I listened to my friend speak to me using mine, and compared to his Jawbone earpiece (which unfortunately is expensive) - there's just a huge difference in clarity. The speaker is fine and is comfortable, though sounds a bit muffled too, but apparently it's the transmission that's really horrible. Was this review helpful?

5 of 5 Awesome! Wednesday, June 11, 2008 A Customer from California
I bought my first Plantronics 510 in December 2007. Our IT staff has been using hands free devices for a couple of years. They seem to wear them 24/7 and they are both frugal and demand excellent quality. I asked them what to buy because I figured they had road tested everything out there. They recommended the 510 because of price, quality and comfort. They were right! They considered them a good value but even so were impressed with the price I got from Buy.com. Mine travels with me mushed into a compartment in my purse. It is not treated kindly. It works every time and adjusts nicely to fit my ear even after being squashed. I bought the second one this month for my husband. They keep a charge forever and charge quickly. We are very happy. Used paired with LG VX8300. Voice commands work awesome. Was this review helpful?

5 of 5 Never a complaint from speaker or listener! Tuesday, June 10, 2008 smdscott from Reno, NV
This headset has gone everywhere with me. I especially like that you can turn off the flashing blue light (read: save on battery!). I usually talk about 8 hours before recharging. I have only run out of battery twice on this. I can't say that the noise cancelling works but that's because I live in an extremely windy area and I doubt that even the big fluffy mic buffers the reporters use whilst reporting hurricanes would be good enough noise buffering! I've owned this very unit since July, 2007, and thus far it has been uber-reliable, the sound is awesome (I don't even have to turn the phone's volume up all the way to hear it very well, even outdoors), and my listeners can't even tell I'm on a headset. The unit comes with three sizes of ear phones for comfort. I can't stand those little headphones that you stick into your ears and believed this wouldn't be comfortable but I often forget it's there and my ear never gets sore. I can't imagine that there's anything better out there, as I'm so pleased with the Voyager510. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Great product. Wednesday, April 23, 2008 Andy from Charlotte, NC
I cannot attest to the longevity of the headset as I have not had it but about a month. However, so far this has been a great product. It works extremely well and is generally as clear as talking on the handset. Very easy to pick up and learn and also very comfortable. There is a bit of static occassionally but it is not a major issue. Also, the noise cancellation becomes a bit overzealous from time to time and cuts out words, but this is not a major issue either. Great headset, especially for the price. I would definitely recommend this product. Was this review helpful?

2 of 5 Complaints from the Other Side Tuesday, January 22, 2008 T from NY, NY
I checked the reviews and saw lots of positives, but am very unhappy with the sound quality. Comfortable, yes, unobtrusive, yes, but callers on the other end often cannot hear me well. The main reason I selected this was the noise canceling since there is a fair amount of road noise in a RAV4 even with all the windows closed. Callers often asked what is the noise in the background - so much for noise cancellation! Was this review helpful?
1 of 5 Fell Apart After Minimal Use Tuesday, January 15, 2008 A Customer from Phoenix, AZ
The ear piece came apart and the tiny O-ring that allows it to fit into the receptacle tore slightly, so now it will not stay together and the device is now useless. I am going to try to get it replaced by the manufacturer, but I am not hopeful since it is just over a year since I bought it. I didn't even use it until I had it for 10 months. The call quality is pretty good, but the buttons are tiny and difficult. Was this review helpful?

2 of 5 Voyager 510 Bluetooth working with Treo 650 Friday, November 30, 2007 A Customer from Southern California
I heard many good things about the Plantronics Voyager 510. My friend has the Voyager 510 and uses it on the Motorola cell which sounds great and connects well with absolutely no problems. The headset is light and has a long battery life. The volume is good too.
The drawbacks with the Voyager 510 working on the Palm treo are:
1. Usually VERY slow connecting/linking speeds. Usually between 2-5 seconds
2. Sound quality is compromised unless the treo is near the headset and on the side of the body where the headset is located.
3. Distance is an issue. Even though there is a direct line of sight to the phone, after 10 feet there is considerable loss of sound quality.
4. Nearly ¼ of my calls end up in complaints from the caller on the other end. ¾ of time, the sound quality is fine.
Although I think the Voyager 510 is a great headset, I would not recommend matching the 510 with a treo until these issues have been addressed.

5 of 5 Plantronics Voyager 510 Thursday, November 29, 2007 Greg from Plano, IL
I've had this product for a couple of weeks and have been very pleased with it. It was easy to sync up with my Blackberry 8700. It is pretty comfortable to wear (I have forgotten I was wearing it.) I can hear quite well while driving in the car with road noise in the background. The people on the other end of the line inform me that I am clear and crisp and several have said that they didn't even know I was on a wireless headset. The only issue is the power button. It is rather small for my large clumsy hands. By NO means is that a deal breaker though. I wouldn't hesitate to buy this headset again and highly recommend it. I purchased it at Buy.com and was pleased with the price. I found it a little cheaper elsewhere but I prefer to deal with a company I can trust. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Best In Class Tuesday, November 27, 2007 A Customer from Birmingham, AL
I toyed with about 3 other brands of bluetooth devices for over a year before coming to my senses and buying the Voyager 510. For some reason I did not beleive the overwhelming positive thoughts on the product. I was skeptical about the looks and fit of an over the ear device. I could not be more pleased with the device in the 3 months since I have used it. Pairing was easy, The earpiece is very comfortable and easy to take on and off. I occasionally have used in windy environments and am impressed with sound quaility. No real drawbacks here. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Plantronics Voyager 510 Friday, November 09, 2007 Greg from IL
I just received the earpiece and other than the box being a little beat up, it looks good. Plugged it in right away for 3 hours for a full charge. I then synced it up with my Blackberry 8500C with absolutely no problems. Made a couple of calls and I had no problem hearing them and they said that it sounded quite clear and crisp to them. I am headed to Chicago for the week and I can't wait to see how it does in the city and driving in traffic. For a short time, it is comfortable to wear. I haven't had a chance to wear it for an extended period yet. The only complaint I would have is that the power button is rather small for my fingers. Not a deal breaker by any means though! So far, I really enjoy this and look forward to putting it through the paces. I will update after my Chicago trip, if I can remember. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Perfect for my use Tuesday, September 25, 2007 DALE SCHWEINBERGER from SAN MARCOS, CA
I originally purchased a 510 for use with my cell phone in my car. Then I realized I could get the unit to function with my office phone and use it instead of having to lug around an earset with a wire attached to my phone.
The extra freedom is wonderful. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Very Good Monday, September 17, 2007 A Customer from Newport Beach, CA
Prior to buying the Plantronics 510, I had a Motorola headset purchased from Costco. That Motorola headset was returned the next day simply because it was uncomfortable. The Plantronics 510 is simply the best! It is both comfortable and the reception is crystal clear. I use it with a Nokia e62 PDA phone. I am looking to purchase a couple of these to hand out as gifts. You won't go wrong with this!

5 of 5 Not bad until it quits Monday, August 20, 2007 A Customer from Taylorsville, Ut.
Great range, good sound both from the Mic and the ear piece. Takes a little getting use to. Very comfortable. Linked to cheapo motorola phone easily. Wind noise in mic is pretty bad if there is any breeze at all. Leave the window down while driving... forget it, the other party is not going to hear you. Mine lost the ear speaker after a few months so I'm waiting for a replacement. I'd buy another one without a second thought. Was this review helpful?
1 of 1 customers found this review helpful. 5 of 5 Best I've Found for the Price Monday, August 13, 2007 TPR from Boerne, TX
I've paired this 510 with a T-Mobile Blackberry Pearl and a Verizon RAZR V3m. Both paired easily. Occassionally one will "knock-off" the other but you just have to tell it to reconnect. Sound quality as reported by callers is excellent. I've even had to turn the volume down abit and get used to speaking normally (why do we always want to speak loudly to electronics?). Very comfortable, I've forgotten I have it on (airport security will always remind me though). All in all this device has all the features you want in an earpiece that costs 3X as much. Only drawback is the size of the switch control ( but, hey, any larger and I'd be complaining about the "c*ckroach" look you get with other devices). Was this review helpful?
1 of 1 customers found this review helpful. 4 of 5 Pretty good headset... Friday, August 10, 2007 A Customer from Seattle, WA
On the whole I'm satisfied with it: I like the fit, and the sound quality is good. My only gripes are that the ear piece won't come off (it comes with three options, and after I put on the first one it wouldn't come off...), and the power button is both difficult and painful to depress. 5 of 5 BEST BLUETOOTH HEADSET . . . BEST PERFORMANCE, CLA Tuesday, June 12, 2007 MACGRIFF from JEFFERSONVILLE, VERMONT
This headset is easy to use and install. The comfort of wearing behind the ear is so good that I forget that I have it on when I go to bed.
The wind resistant mic is superb--most times, people I talk to think I am on my home phone when I'm actually talking on the cell phone in the car while driving w/ the windows open. The clarity of the ear piece and mic are the best I have ever experienced.
The remote answer and dialing via the headset is easily facilitated. Don't look any further--this is a great headset and Buy.com has the best price. . . and fast shipping. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Palm 755P and Plantronics Voyager 510 Friday, June 08, 2007 salesinfo from Dallas Texas
After extensive research, I went with the Plantronics Voyager 510. Connection between my Palm 755P phone and Plantronics Voyager 510 Bluetooth Headset is a little slow at times, but when connected, Voila! For some odd reason, answering incoming calls using the buttons on the handset takes about 2 seconds before you hear the caller. If you answer the call using the button on the headset, the response is almost immediate. A Handshaking issue is probably the case here. Sound quality is very good; handset vs. headset sounds the same to the caller on the other end. Distance and range is approximately 25 feet, but better if you are within 10 feet between phone and headset. The phone and headset is a good match. Was this review helpful?

Works as it should. Is reasonably comfortable to wear. Sound performance is excellent on both ends. I can wear it with my glasses with no problem. Volume control is a little hard to use, but I don't find it necessary to use often. I had bought two other headsets befor this one, one Motorola, one samsung and I would buy this one again without hesitation. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Pretty Cool Saturday, June 02, 2007 Hakkdup from Memphis Tn.
People actually told me I was talking to loud when I was outside. It paired quickly with my Sanyo SCP 8400 phone.Even though it may be bigger than other bluetooh earsets,It really is light and comfortable. It comes with extra ear pods and a windscreen which you don't really need because of the background sound cancelling feature. It stayed charged for a week for me but I only talk about 20 minutes a day.It does not come with a car charger but you can get one for an extra 10 bucks. The house charger it comes with has a green LED to let you know it's plugged in and working. For the price and features,I highly recommend it.Go to cnet for more customer and cnet testers reviews. Granted, this is my first bluetooth headset, but I'm a gadget fan and this product is great!
Pros: Light, comfortable, great reception, solid transmission quality, good battery life span
Cons: Power button could have a slightly better tactile feel. Haven't found a usable hard case for it. Someone mentioned an Altoid tin, but I couldn't make it fit. Was this review helpful? Click here to see all 127 reviews
