Plantronics Voyager 520 Bluetooth Headset

I had one previous Bluetooth headset, and although that one was okay, it wore out in only one year of use. This one works great. Easy to operate, battery life is very long between charges, and range is pretty good. (Although I pretty much always have my phone in my pocket or on my side) It is not cumbersome in size. Only negative thing is that on occasion, I have had it in my gear bag and apparently if you bump the outside of the bag sufficiently, it can accidently turn on. But again, thank you for the long battery life on standby.

Fits the ear very well. The earpiece part is small and tapers to larger so it fits into the ear unlike all the other bluetooth devices I have used. Liked it so well I got one for my wife and am thinking of getting one for my daughter. Will recommend it to my brother also.

Overall, this is a great product for the money. I use this bluetooth for my personal use (Motorola Razor) and my work (Blackberry Curve). The volume is good. I can answer calls on either without the hassle of switching off the bluetooth on one. For that reason alone it is worth it. It fits comfortably and easy to connect. My only complaint (The manual points this out) is that if I keep my Blackberry on the opposite side of the headset, I notice a difference (poor quality) in reception/voice quality. I assume the antennae (built in) of the bluetooth is not the best. Its not that big of deal since I use it in the office or in my car so they are both usually on the same side of my body. Other than that I have no complaints.

This is my first Bluetooth, and I must say, I'm pleased with the experience. It was very easy to sync up to my phone, more comfortable in my ear than I really expected it to be, and comes across clear. My only drawback is, Being a truck driver, my wife (my primary caller) sometimes has trouble hearing me over the ambient cab noise. She's the only one to my knowledge to have issues, though.

I have used a wi-fi Plantronics headset at work, so I am familiar with their quality, that is what made me look into their bluetooth earpiece for my cell phones. I carry a both a personal and a work cell phone, and since this earpiece will connecet with two bluetooth devices, the Plantronics works for me. Once the earpiece is turned on, both phones attach to it and I can answer either phone with it, but only one or the other. You cannot answer both phones at the same time, or be on one phone and answer a call on the second. The sound quality is excellant. Volume control really adjusts the volume and calls are very clear and, unless you are in a windy environment, say while driving with the window open, callers don't know I'm on a headset unless I tell them. The only down that I've experienced is that the mike picks up wind noise but that to me is testimony of the sensitivity of the mike. Overall opinion - this is an excellant product with great qualiaty and performance. I bought one for me and turned around and bought a second one to replace the one my wife was using. Great device!

I have owned several bluetooth headsets and this one easily out performs the others. The last one I had was a motorola and I liked it a lot, But this unit works super in every situation that I used it. It did not matter if the surrounding conditions were quiet, noisey, windy or what ever I could hear clearly and any person I was communicating with could hear me as well. I would reccommed this unit without any hesitation.

Used this headset for over 6 months. Just about the most comfortable headset I have ever worn, the desk charger-stand is nice, and good battery life. I can wear the headset all day without noticing. Multi-point worked flawlessly and was able to pair my two cell phones. Sound quality was good, but did get some static if phone was in my pocket. Only drawback is the audio level is fairly low, and if I was in a noisy background sometimes I did have trouble hearing. Also found difficulty in others hearing me if on a conference call. For person-to-person calls I extremely liked this headset, but due to business use, had to replace with a voyager 835. I regularly recommend both headsets to people depending on their need.

I had originally purchased this headset because it was a Plantronics and it has the capability to handle two phones at the same time. At the time I had a Cricket Kyocera and a Sprint LG Fusic. It was great for both phones, good clarity. The LG did however keep cycling on and off of the connection when not in use. Which I understand is a problem with the LG Fusic. I now have only the Sprint Treo 800W smartphone and the clarity is unbelievable!! This headset is excellent. There is only one problem the volume control button that you use often to answer your calls with cracks. I have had mine replaced twice from the warranty. Which does start your 1 year warranty all over again. Good deal!! The other problem I am having is that the volume answers in a lower level than I would like and I don't know how to set it to the highest level so I don't have to turn it up for every call. But that may be the operators fault. I have not figured that out yet. All in all this is a great product for the money. It is an excellent headset!! Plantronics is the way to go and Buy.com is the number one retailer!!

I recently purchased the voyager 520 to be used with my LG and it is awesome! It was super easy to setup, and for the price (50% off retail) it was definitely worth it. I gave performance a 4 because the range does kinda suck, (especially when it gets fuzzy in other rooms in the house, but that's probably the bluetooth connection in general, not just this earpiece. I also bought one for my girlfriend for her birthday and she hardly ever takes it off. It's comfortable and fits snuggly in my ear. This was my first bluetooth purchase so I can't really compare, but I must say, I am extremely satisfied with this product!

I bought this for my husband after reading many reviews for many different headsets. After it arrived he used it right away and his feedback is great. He used to have a motorola headset that was always difficult for him to hear and the receiving party had trouble hearing him. With the Plantronics headset, everything is clear on both sides and he has a long talk time. He practically wears it all day and travels a great deal so this was definitely a great investment, and it makes his job easier.

I purchased this after reading many glowing reviews to finally get rid of my corded earpiece. I have extremely mixed feelings about this headset. When using this at home, in my office, or in a slow moving car (going under 35-40 mph) this works great. sounds clarity is perfect and i barely feel that i am speaking on a headset. the people on the other end of the call barely notice any difference. BUT, once i get onto the highway and am driving at 60-70+ mph, thats when it all falls apart. I never drive with the windows down on the highway and when speaking with this going those speeds, people on the other end can barely hear me because of the background noise levels. i have to switch back to my corded earpiece so they can hear me. so watch out with this one if you do a lot of higher speed highway driving. otherwise, this is great.

This is a great product! The sound is crystal clear, loud and TRUE noise reduction is super. The ear bud could use an improved design that fits inside the ear like their desk headsets, but a great unit and value!

This Voyager 520 Bluetooth headset will work with two phones simultaneously! It answers one phone at a time but it is a great feature. The sound is crystal clear, loud and TRUE noise reduction. This unit is true to the Plantronics reputation! It is very comfortable for wearing all day and the power lasts all day. Quick pairing is excellent! Recharges quickly too. Looks good. Great product. I love this product, but even more so, my boyfriend loves it too! I bought the Voyager 520 for him for Christmas and we just exchanged gifts, he loves it. It works like a charm. * Excellent quality of crisp clear voice. * Comfortable on the ear, as if not even there. * Great range, I can walk into the other room and use it. * Sleek small design. * No ridiculous background noise like other headsets.

I bought this headset after reading all the positive reviews and Consumer Reports recommended the 510, so I figured the 520 would be just as good. So far I'm very pleased with this headset. I had to exchange one due to lots of static, however, the new one works great. It's so comfortable that sometimes I forget I have it on. My other bluetooth made my ear very sore if I wore it too long. I feel that for the price, it's an excellent buy. I gave it a 4 on performance due to the one I had to exchange. Hopefully the new one continues to work well.

This is the loudest and clearest blue-tooth headset I've add, much better than the ones recommended in the last "Consumer Reports". The ear piece is comfortable and easily fitted. It doesn't work as well in outdoor, windy conditions as in side a vehicle - the people on the other end of the line have difficulty understanding. But, I liked it well enough to order as a gift.

The 520 is very easy to use with a single button and three button press combos. It fits comfortably on my ear, which is something I never got with my Jabra headsets. It pairs easily with my xv6700 and everyone can hear me fine. On the downside, the charger base can be a little tricky to put together, though not too bad, and it is sometimes hard to hear the other person on the phone at highway speeds with the noise from the road and engine (having a better car would probably help this).

The Voyager 520 is a great bluetooth headset and significantly better than my Motorola H700. The volume on the device is excellent inside the car at highway speeds and the sound clarity is great on the other end. The 520 cuts out the background noises so your voice comes through clear. It fits comfortably for long extended wear.

I bought one for my girlfriend. She seems to use it with ease. But when I talk to her on the phone, it seems to pick up just about everything there is to pick up. It's supposed to filter out wind noises and other miscellanenous "noises" out of the phone conversation, but the product is not that smart. It does what it's supposed to, but it hurts my ears at times whenever she's doing something other than driving.

The headset works well, is of high quality and lasts a long time. Everyone I have spoken to using the headset says the sound quality is good with no echos. (A big drawback to so many others) I do wish I could get the volume a bit louder though. On rough roads or with high background noise, it is difficult to hear even at the highest setting. Of the several headsets I have owned, (Jabra, Motorola and Plantronics) I like this one the best. Very comfortable and easy to operate. It pairs quickly - every time - with my iPhone.

I evaluated several bluetooth devices on ConsumersReports first. Although the Plantronics 520 is not the "top rated" one, I thought it best for me with the longer battery life and the built in Wind Screen. I am pleased with the 520. Shipping & Delivery time was better than expected, so that was bonus. I had bought another one at Wal-Mart a month before, and that one cost $78.00 which I thought was pretty good. I find the "Dial by name" feature isn't as great as I thought it should be. But is that the phone, connection or the 520? This is my first usable earphone so I have no comparison.

I just got this product and connected it with my laptop. Sound quality is good. Only PROBLEM: If i go more than 15 feets away , the sound gets distorted and a lot of disturbance starts coming up. But its good enough :)

I like the sound I get but find that sometime people on the other end are getting an echo. The battery seems to last pretty long but I don't talk for hours at a time on it. My main problem is that the earpiece is too big. I read about that in other reviews but being a full size adult with big ears didn't think it would be a problem. I find it hard to get on my ear, but once its on it is fairly comfortable. A slightly smaller earpiece would make it a lot easier to slip on and off as needed. Overall though, it's decent sound and i find it easy to use.

Useful. Easy enough to slip on when running around in the rain as I have been doing a lot of lately. NOT the most comfortable headset I have used. Although the sound is crystal clear, my biggest disappointment was in the low volume; when in heavy traffic I frequently needed to cup a hand over the unit in order to hear the conversation.

I recently bought Plantronics Voyager 520 Bluetooth headset and I love it. I highly recommend this product without reservations. This headset is lightweight, sound is crystal clear and crisp (might need to adjust the volume on the phone and headset), and the synchronization was quick and easy. My friend suggested this product to me and he loves it, and I instantly fell in love with my headset as well.

The earset is supposedly larger than some others, according to some reviews. I can't speak to that except to say that its size is not an issue for me. There have been times when I have felt the need to touch it to make sure it was still on my ear - it's that light. The sound is clear and crisp. It installed in a heartbeat to my LG Voyager (Verizon). The volume could be a little louder, but it's generally a non-issue. I think that the standby time is a little less than advertised which is why I gave it a 4 for performance. They claim about a week of standby and I would give it more like 5-6 days. Again, not a problem. This was my first Bluetooth earset and I feel as if I lucked out with the choice. The user reviews were very helpful, so thanks people. I would definitely recommend it.

I bought this bluetooth headset because it is on the top of the page when I searched for one. Despite the fact that it is cheap, elegant, and there are a lot of good comments on the headset, its performance needs to be questioned. When I make a phone call, all I hear front the headset is noise. I don't know whether this is their concept of "noise canceling" or not, but I certainly didn't expect this much noise. I had to put my phone so close to the headset to reduce the noise that the headset seemed lost its purpose. Sometimes, however, it is really clear. I had no idea why, and I am definitely looking into buying another one with a different brand.

I recently bought the Plantronics Voyager 520 Bluetooth. For less than $50 including shipping, it arrived on my doorstep in 2 days. In 5 minutes I had it ready to roll - paired and charging. Works great. Very happy. I don't stretch the limits - usually near the phone, so can't comment on its range, but otherwise it is great. Good sound quality. Previous experience with a bluetooth headset was not so good. So I know this one is good. I have a T-Mobile Dash. When I bought it almost 2 years ago, I also bought a bluetooth headset at the T-Mobile store. It was made by Motorola. Unfortunately, whenever I used it, the person on the other end of the call could hear a "hum" loud enough to interfere. I stopped using it. Very happy to have a new, better solution to my need for bluetooth.

Paired well. Quality is fine. The manual volume switch is not so good as you'll often hang up your call when trying to adjust. So just use your phone volume controls.

*PROS*: Amazing battery life (my phone will die before this does). Great headset volume for someone thats hard of hearing. *CONS*: Not very stylish. Mic picks up and amplifies undesired sounds (running water when washing dishes sounds like a hurricane for the people on the other end). *OTHER THOUGHTS*: Overpriced for what you get in my opinion. But then again, anything with better performance and style comes with a huge price jump in comparison. Perhaps this is the best compromise available.

Opening the box, I could finish the paring with my MotoQ phone in just a few minutes includig the time reading the quick quide. Signal reception is great even while driving a car or simply anywhere. My wife is the primary user of this headset and when I talk to over over the phone while she is in a mall or moving car, I could hear her voice very clearly with minimal background noise. I am very happy with its price and performance.

When my trusty Voyager 510 finally died, I decided to do some research before buying a replacement. Ultimately it came down to the Voyager 520, the new Jawbone, or the Discovery 925. The reviews for the 520 were by far the most promising and the buy.com price sealed the deal. I couldn't be happier with my purchase. The unit paired easily with my Motorola Razr V3m. The sound quality is first rate. I have to get in some pretty significant wind or have a train passing for the other side to notice I'm on my headset. I even had one person tell me I sound better on my headset than I do on my landline! It took some fiddling to find the sweet spot in my ear, but once I did the sound is crystal clear and plenty loud. I haven't noticed the "tinny" sound some others have reported. The single control button also had a slight learning curve when used for voice-dialing. At first I was turning the volume to max when I wanted to make a call, but the problem resolved after a few tries. I still occasionally turn the unit off when I want to make a call, but I blame that on operator error and impatience. Battery life is more than adequate. I recharge once every third or fourth day with my normal light use of approximately 2 hours per day. I have talked as much as 7 hours over the course of 3 days without draining the power. The proprietary plug is a bit annoying for those on the go, but Plantronics sells an OEM car charger and the iGo system has a tip for it. The only true drawback is the signal strength. Although there are times I can get a good bit from my phone without problems, other times I can't even put my phone on the other side of my body. I haven't pushed the limits, but I would say that in most situations I can wander at least 15 ft. without noticing significant signal degradation. Overall not a deal-breaker and about normal for the better quality bluetooth headsets I've tried. If you're in the market for a solid, dependable, great-sounding blue-tooth headset, I recommend this without reservations. The price is just icing on the cake.

Easy to use, fairly comfortable, good sound quality, and a great value. The downside? It's awful when the wind is blowing outside. The mic needs a better wind shield because I can't be heard when there is a breeze blowing on the mic. Not even my air conditioner! Make sure nothing is blowing on the mic and this thing is great.

Very good value and ease of use. Fits nicely in ear and around ear. Good sound quality. Only issue is if I hold the phone at arms length there is static. The phone needs to be near the 520. I also have the 340 which works at a longer distance from the phone (Sprint Mogul with latest rom).

Pairing with my LG VX9800 was painless. The headset runs against the usual limitations of having, in essence, one button to perform every function. Down the road, odds are you'll wind up looking for the manual (or looking it up online) should you need to make your headset discoverable, but so it goes. I haven't yet taken the headset out into noisier conditions, nor have I tested its vaunted Multi-Point technology, so if those are crucial areas of your selection process, I'm afraid I can't help. As a baseline, if the neither the headset or the phone is moving around much, the sound quality is tough to complain about. However, the stated range of 30 feet is optimistic: I've found most any movement relative to the phone causes static. As far as a low-impact, hands-free home use headset, I can't see doing much better for the money. If you're looking for a headset you basically intend to surgically attach to your head, you may have to look harder.

Ordered 2 on Wednesday and arrived on Thursday! Charged up and tried it out and works great. Called my wife outside and the noise cancellation was wonderful. My wife and I were both using Jawbones but could not get them to fit the way we wanted. Always felt loose. Also like the fact this does have a volume control on it. Great product especially for the price. Another good job by Buy.com!
