3 of 5 Good music, bad for phone Monday, June 15, 2009 Rob from Colorado
Links up bluetooth easily. Sound quality for music or TV is excellent. Phone sound is fair, too much bass. Sort of sounds like the other people are under water, and they complain about how bad I sound while using it. I don't use it for phones anymore, just music & TV. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Great Headphones Monday, January 19, 2009 Gary from Greensboro, NC
Great headphones, good bluetooth mic. Use in office with other music. I listen to streaming classical music online. Can adjust volume such that I can hear my music and others can listen to theirs. Since it does not totally surround the ear, you will still hear surrounding sounds. Bad if it is other music, good if someone is trying to talk to you. Generally have to remove the headset to carry on a conversation. I am still trying to get used to using my bluetooth cell phone with the headphones. The cell phone audio is much deeper in bass than I would prefer. If you are very active (particularly bending over), the headphones will want to come off. I tried to tighten them on my head; however, they were not as comfortable.
I had hoped that I could use the headset with the telephone handset. Unfortunately, I have not found a way to do that. That was only a fringe benefit as I had no absolute requirement for that feature.
If you are a serious audiophile, then these are probably not the headphones for you. However, if you want to listen to your music on your terms while you are concentrating on your work, you will find these headphones to be a great asset! Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Best headphones EVER!! Wednesday, January 07, 2009 Michael from Seattle, WA
Prior to using these wireless headsets, I was always getting tangled up with the wired heatsets. It was frustrating and at times extremely embarassing trying to situate myself as I'm leaving the bus, boarding a plane etc...
However, since purchasing this unit, no tangling or fighting of wires. I love it.
Plus the sound quality is surprisingly very, very good.
Before purchasing this particular unit, I did a lot of searching - and these are by far the most well reviewed item that's available on the market. I would go so far as to purchasing myself another set (headphones only 590E) Was this review helpful?
3 of 5 Good for some things, not for all Sunday, October 26, 2008 Pablo from Duncan, OK
In addition to wireless MP3 listening (where this headset excels), we planned to use this headset with Skype. Despite the separate bluetooth adapter (Mogo) ordered with the headset, and even a different brand bluetooth adapter purchased separately, we have yet to get any signal from the headset mic to the PC - in Skype or any other application. Even the Windows (XP) microphone training / speech functions do not recognize the device.
I read one forum that stated you could get it to work with VOIP if you purchase Plantronic's bluetooth adapter...don't know if I want to try that or not.
Overall, pretty disappointed about the Skype issue. It works great with my bluetooth phone, and the bluetooth dongle is very effective at making any audio source bluetooth-enabled - but for listening ONLY. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Excellent product Wednesday, August 06, 2008 Roman from Dallas, TX
I don't normally write reviews unless a product is excellent or very lousy. In this case, I strongly recommend this headset. I've used it for over a year without any problems to listen to my audio system. Sound quality and battery life are very good. I have a similar Jensen bluetooth headset that my wife uses, but it always gives me problems (sound interrupts and short battery life). I need to replace the Jensen one with something better, and I'm considering a second pair of these Plantronics. I only wish the price was lower - I think I got my previous one much cheaper on sale... 5 of 5 AWESOME!!!! Sunday, July 20, 2008 Harry Timmons from Clinton Township, MI
I have spent more than $ 1,000 trying to find a bluetooth ear pc or headset that I feel comfortable with, that works well and is easily heard by the people on the receiving end while being easy to use! and now, at last here this product is! I've been using this headset now for awhile and amazingly it has an adapter that now makes my computer, my portable dvd player, and my mp3 player all bluetooth capable. The cost is substantially lower (by about $130) than if you went to Plantronics web site and bought it. I would have to give this item a three thumbs up!!! Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Very Fine Headset Thursday, June 26, 2008 A Customer from Tiburon, CA
This Plantronics headset lived up to expectations. It was easy to pair and connect to a Motorola/Verizon Razr V3M cell phone and the included general purpose bluetooth transmitter worked out of the box with no problems. Before giving it to my daughter, I tried it out and found the sound quality quite acceptable for recorded books. She then tried it and finds the quality for music playback from her computer also quite acceptable.
My only complaint is that Buy.com did not inform me of shipping date and estimated delivery. However, my order was placed on Friday and I received delivery on the following Wednesday. Quite acceptable since it was for a Saturday Birthday. Oh, the strobe light is a bit obnoxious, but only for the self conscious
Now what I'd like to see is "over the ear" bluetooth headphones with sound canceling and hardwire capability. Maybe next year. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Great Bluetooth Headset Tuesday, March 11, 2008 A Customer from CA
The Plantronics Pulsar 590A headset is very comfortable and easy to operate. I use it with my Nokia N800 for Skype and to listen to music and with my cellphone for calls. In both cases, synching worked without a hitch. Sound is good from up to 30 feet.
I like the blue/red power charge/synch. lights but wish they could be turned off in some situations.
Also, the headset takes a long time to charge. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Good Fit Monday, February 04, 2008 pardoj from Sheffield, Ohio
The Pulsar 590A over the head deadest, ended to be the best fit for me. I had tried a headset for behind your head and over the ear it was very uncomfortable and could only wear for 10 minutes at a time. With the pulsar I can play games for hours and not bother me. Quality of sound is good.
I sometimes have problem getting the headset and dongle to bridge, but it might just be that I get inpatient.
Buy.com took my other headset back without any problems and I received the new one in three days. Thanks Buy.com.

2 of 5 Bluetooth on PC Thursday, January 31, 2008 A Customer from Boulder, CO
I purchased this hoping I could use this as a substitute for my corded headset on my PC for say, Skype.

First, you will likely have to purchase an additional Bluetooth transmitter. Then you will have to struggle to install the Bluetooth driver.

Then you will have to sync the headset to the transmitter.

Ok, the above are all standard headaches when connecting a new device to a PC.

Then yo have the disappointment of learning that the quality of your voice when speaking to your friends is ... well ... just awful.

So I used live chat with Plantronics and asked if this is normal. Their techy said yes.

If you plan to use this with a PC ... don't. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Outstanding value - a great headset Tuesday, November 27, 2007 A Customer from Sterling, VA
I purchased this headset in September for my wife and she raves about it. She uses the bluetooth feature both for wireless devices and also for her older CD player. She listens to recorded books every day so the headset is used a lot, probably 3-4 hours each day. No problems in the three months or so she has had it. Also, she loves the charging stand. I highly recommend this model because it comes complete with the charging stand which charges the headset and the bluetooth connector at the same time. It also has a nice travel case that is compact but holds the travel charger and other things she needs when we are on a trip or away from home. She highly recommends this headset. 5 of 5 Awesome Sound Tuesday, September 25, 2007 Susan from Canandaigua, NY
The 590A is an excellent product. I had no trouble pairing with my Treo 700p (which as anyone who has one knows can be a challenge!). Using the software, AudioGateway, I can also stream stereo to the headphones from the Treo. The sound is sooo much better than any wired headset I have used.
When it arrived the charging cable had a defective connector. After talking with customer service a new cable was in the mail and I received it in 2 days!!!
The bluetooth adapter works great for my iPod. It is easy to pair , the sound is great and my husband finds it very easy to use. It also works with the computer speakers as well.
The only negative is the bright blue light that blinks from the headset and the adapter. It is very bright.
Highly recommend the unit. Remember though, any palm users must get Audio gateway to stream stereo sound to the headphones.

4 of 5 Good performance for bluetooth headset Tuesday, September 25, 2007 A Customer from Independence, MO
Overall good performance. Would like to see better high-end response. Dial to turn on bluetooth transmitter needs to have a higher profile, hard to turn on because the dial is so flat. Why not the same power switch that is on the headphones?
Paired to my LG "9800" with no problem. Sound is good.
Listening to music on my Zune is what I was mainly looking for and it works well. No interference that I have noticed.

5 of 5 Great with Treo 700P Thursday, August 30, 2007 Susan F. from Canandaigua, NY
As anyone who has a Treo 700p knows, connectivity can be a big issue. This headset was the easiest hardware to connect to my Treo. Works great using Audio gateway software to stream stereo music (must get that software for it to be stereo). The phone connection is quick and clear. Callers say my transmission to them is clear. The dongle works easily for using the headset with an Ipod. Would definitely recommend this headset. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 very pleased Wednesday, July 04, 2007 A Customer from Redondo, CA
I've been looking for a blue tooth stereo headset for at least a year...this one is great! Not only does it sound great when hooked to the tv but you can use skype or whatever on the computer!.
Buttons are a bit difficult to use on headphones while using and not clearly marked but this pairs very quickly.
For the money I can't find anything close in the stores Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 I finally found them Friday, May 04, 2007 tdpough from Brooklyn, NY
Since i purchased my first pda back in 2003, i have had about 10 different headphones. Some expensive (Grados for $200) and some cheap (sony $20). But finally, on a recomendation from a forum member and the reviews on here, i have found the perfect headphones. They are loud and clear. They dont hurt my ears. The sound is fantastic. And they are very compact and can go everywhere i go. I have finally found the perfect headphones. And its also a great price. Thanks Buy.com Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Great all around value Tuesday, April 10, 2007 A Customer from Austin, TX
This headset is just what I was looking for. It allows me to connect to my PC and roam my home without disturbing others or missing the news, etc. I am able to close doors and still hear the streaming audio. It does seem to have an occasional drop out or pitch change, but all in all works just fine. It connects to my cell and switches between cell and other audio as expected. The ear pieces are rather small but the band adjusts to fit my big head. Very versatile headset and good charging system. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Nice set, for PS3 too Tuesday, April 03, 2007 A Customer from Levittown, PA
I bought this to use with my iPod and PS3. It paired easily with the PS3 and stays paired. It can be used for online chat. The adapter feature works well with the iPod.
My only concern is durability. I had a previous PC headset from Plantronics. I didn't use it much, only for occasion VOIP. The earphones stopped working, but the mic was O.K. It was out of warranty and Plantronics stand was for me to buy a new one. They wouldn't fix mine, cheaper to buy a new one ($100+ set).
Fingers crossed on this one. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Great product, worth every penny!!!!!! Saturday, March 31, 2007 Michelle Brooks from Richmond, Va
These are the greatest headphones that I have come across. I have it paired with my ipod, cell phone, and laptop. The sound quality is excellent and I think the range may be more than 33 feet. I use it at work where I have to walk around a lot. I have had no problems with it yet and I've been using it for about 3 months now. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Great product, but not without room for improvemen Thursday, March 29, 2007 Rick Brunner from TN
Love the ability to pair with multiple devices at once, listen to music via Bluetooth 2.0 (ANYCOM) and have support for AD2P, skip songs, incoming call on cell, or the office phone no problem headset mutes music and you can answer the phone with the click of a button.
What I would change
1) The Annoying flashing blue light when paired, how about having the ability to disable it, or at the very least shrink the size so I don't feel like I am a walking strobe light.
2) Ease the spring tension, or at least make it adjustable length session will have your ears hearting
3) add a 3.5 to 2.5mm connection adapter and the dual plug adapter most airlines have. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Perfect headphones for a music phone Thursday, March 29, 2007 Frank from USR, NJ

1 of 1 customers found this review helpful. 5 of 5 Outstanding Headphones Tuesday, March 27, 2007 A Customer from Van Alsytne Texas
I would definitely buy them again, especially for the price here at buy.com. If I'd have bought them from the manufacturer's site they would have been $140 more. They are excellent headphones. Callers tell me that car noise has dramatically reduced from my old ear buds that came with my TMobile Dash. I have Windows Mobile 5.0 and have purchased the MS Voice Command for it and it works okay with these headphones. Sometimes it doesn't understand me when I'm speaking through the headphones.
The only trick I had to figure out was to play the music through the headphones you have to hold in the mute button on the phone then it will switch from playing over the speaker on the phone to the headphones. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Better than others Friday, March 23, 2007 Joe from Corona, CA
This is the third headset that I tried. This is the one I am keeping. The included cables and dongle allow this headset to connect to anything with a headphone jack. It works well in the sound booth, the server room, at my PC, and running around between them. Since it is BT 2.0, it has a good future. Only two problems I have found: There is no way to turn off the flashing LED, and my PC's (IBM t43p) built in bluetooth sometimes has difficulties (seems to be the PC), but the dongle never has problems. The phone connection (Razr v3) is flawless. I can hear, and the other party can hear me even in the noisy server room. Plantronics knows headsets. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Great headphones Tuesday, March 13, 2007 A Customer from Brooklyn, NY
Nothing bad to say about these headphones, they do everything you would expect from them, and are very comfortable and easy to use. The only thing is that although they come with several different cables, if you want to use them for TV watching you might need to get an RCA to Minijack Y-cable. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Excellent Product!!! Wednesday, February 28, 2007 A Customer from NY
These headphones are the most convenient electronic product I have ever owned. To be able to walk around the house and the gym without worrying about wires tangling up around you is fantastic. But the real bonus is these bad boys sound awesome too!!
Very happy!! Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Fantastic... Monday, January 22, 2007 Kevin from Tucson,AZ
I have only bought two things that I was completly satisfied with and this head set was one of them. Connects easily to my blackjack, and the sound is great. The volume is loud, no distortion. Battery life is excellent. Was this review helpful?

5 of 5 Fantastic headset Friday, November 10, 2006 Brook from San Jose, CA
I was looking for a stereo headset to use with my phone that had would allow me to work hands free during a noisy train commute. The performance of this unit is fantastic for this need. The sound is very good, the ear coverage is sufficient and the bluetooth connectivity is great. I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to use this as a Skype headset as well. It works seamlessly with the bluetooth transmitter supplied and is effortless to use. I was also pleased to find the hard wire option which allowed me to use the unit on a plane without having to put that lice infested community unit over my head. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 It Rocks! Monday, November 06, 2006 A Customer from Boise Idaho
During my search for a wireless headset for my mp3 player, I actually purchased three other units prior to this one. Only one other came close for sound reprodcution. However the headband, which was a behind the head type cracked within a week. So if you are looking for a bluetooth headset, look no further. The listening time is great and it even comes with a cord to plug in directly to the unit if you do use it longer tha the 10 hours. It pairs with my cell perfectly, although I don't use that feature much. I am very happy with this unit and would recommend it to people that want the freedom from wires. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Amazing product Tuesday, October 24, 2006 shaqe79 from Jackson Heights, New York
This is the best wireless headset ever made. The sound quality is very good. It works with virtually everything, with my Motorola bluetooth cell phone, my Sony Vaio SZ360 bluetooth enabled laptop, my mp3 player, my sony home theater system. Comes with a nice carrying case. The signal is very good and the charges last long enough. I am very happy with this purchase. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Fantastic Headset (BT or otherwise) Tuesday, October 03, 2006 M.Ward from Carson, CA
I purchased the 590A to enable me to walk around the house and listen to my PC audio (iTunes, streaming radio, etc.).
The included audio adapter (already paired to the headset) produces fantastic audio quality (A2DP BT profile) - just plug it in, and it works!
Pairing the headset to my cell phone was simple, and the audio quality of the boom microphone tube is excellent!
When the phone is "idle", I hear my PC audio, a simple press of the call button on the side of the ear piece activate the phone (to answer or place a call [my phone is equiped with voice dailing, which works better than I expected]).
I was so impressed, I ordered an additional headset (the 590E, which contains JUST the headset and a charger cable) for my daughter. Was this review helpful?
1 of 1 customers found this review helpful. 5 of 5 ultimate bluetooth headphones. Friday, September 15, 2006 Alexander from New york city, ny
This is one of the best gadgets I bought in a long time.
I originally bought this to use with my treo 650 to listen to music
via bluetooth and be able to take phonecalls when they come.
This works great you need Pockettunes and audiogateway for the treo though.
the sound is impressive both for music and phonecalls.
and it is so convinient to be able without wires to listen to music pause it go to next song and yet take phonecalls then go back to music again while your phone is in your backpack.
But with the dongle that comes with you can easily walk 300 feet away from your ipod with cristal clear sound.
It also works great with Skype as a headset.
Worth every cent you will not be disapointed. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Sound Great Thursday, June 22, 2006 Rob from Jacksonville, FL
Headphones sound and work great. They switch from supplied transmitter for MP3 player to Bluetooth Cell phone (moto e815) effortlessly. When A2DP cell phones hit the market, I am sure there will be no need for stand alone MP3 players. Was this review helpful?

This is Vinnie from, the hip hop group Naughty by Nature. I purchased the Pulsar 590A headphones and I love them. Since then, I've ordered 3 more pair to give to family and friends who have treos and Buy.com always delivers the next day. The sound quality is lovely and the phone function is immaculate. I'd definitely refer these to anyone.
One exception. I can't listen to the audio from my video files on the Treo 650 when I play them. The phone freezes. I am able to hear the audio from Mobitv. Also, on my laptop, I'm able to hear audio on the internet and video clips stored on my hard drive.
Overall, they're definitely worth it!!! Was this review helpful?
2 of 2 customers found this review helpful. 4 of 5 Takes a few hoops to work with Verizon Treo 650 Saturday, March 11, 2006 cctownguy from Chevy Chase, MD
Let's me start with "GREAT sound quality" and the Verizon Treo 650 cell phone pairs easily with the actual phone part(sending/receiving calls) only. The 590A headphones comes with an adapter so you can have a wired attachment to the 650. The wired adapter is paired by bluetooth with the headphones. This adapter also needs the Palm adapter (3.5mm to 2.5mm jack) to plug into the phone (separate purchase). Once you're 'adapted', the sound quality ROCKS. Also, the Track Forward/Backward doesn't work with Treo's RealPlayer mp3 software. Volume up/down and mute works fine. The buttons on the headphones are a little cumbersome to reach. I tend to tilt my head down so I have to fiddle to find the volume buttons. Again, once wired, the sound is worth the effort! Was this review helpful?
