5 of 5 The BEST bluetooth headset I've ever had. Thursday, February 05, 2009 Scott from Hollywood
I've had a couple of "stinkers" when it comes to bluetooth headsets, so I was understandably skeptical to buy another. But...I did my research, checked out product reviews and decided on the Plantronics Discovery 655. And let me say...Wow! I couldn't be happier. It performs beautifully, looks sharp, it's extraordinarily light and it's incredibly easy to use. I would recommend it to anyone. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Great Headset Monday, December 08, 2008 A Customer from Merritt Island FL
I found this to be the best headset I have tried. It works great with my eyeglasses. The over the ear loop is small and does not interfere with my eyewear. I hardly know I have it on. The charging pocket worked great for about 3 months and I am now asking to have it replaced. It's small enough to be hidden by my hair, so no one knows I even have it on. But, I hear great with it, wouldn't trade it! Was this review helpful?
1 of 5 I plan on exchanging it ASAP Saturday, August 09, 2008 A Customer from Orange County, California
This is my second Plantronics Bluetooth and it is by far, the worst. I'm hoping that it is just my particular headset and that Plantronics will send me a new one or fix this one. The earpiece falls off of the bluetooth, it only works when my phone is on the same side as the bluetooth (if it is in my right ear, it has to be on the right side of my body), and even if I'm sitting in a room with no wind whatsoever, the person on the other end can hardly hear me and complains that it sounds like I'm in a wind tunnel. This product came highly recommended from a co-worker, so hopefully when I exchange this one, I'll actually get a decent bluetooth. Was this review helpful?

5 of 5 This is a great Borg attachment! Monday, January 21, 2008 A Customer from Oregon
I had been considering the purchase of a bluetooth headset for almost a year, but I was not pleased with the larger options. A family friend told me about this particular model - she has two. It works perfectly (crystal clear), and I can barely even feel it in my ear. In fact, it's almost like having voices in my head. :) The best part about the older 655 model is that it comes with the AAA battery charger. The new model does not have this convenient (lost on a desert island) charging option.
I highly recommend this product as one of the best electronic purchases I've ever made. Was this review helpful?

Very happy with the headset sound quality and ear fit. The portable charger on the other hand leaves a lot to be desired. The charger comes in three pieces, a USB adapter, a battery cylinder, and the battery insert. The USB adapter is small and snaps onto the bottom when not in use. It falls off easily and is easily lost. Ideally this piece should be permannently affixed to the charger unit with a rechargeable battery pack. Plug in when USB available, then take with you. Like the headset, the portable pen charger is a novelty and needs work. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 No real problems Thursday, December 06, 2007 KartPilot from Dallas, TX
PROS: 1)Pairs with ease (PPC-6700), 2)Vibrate mode, 3)Small carrier makes it great to keep in your pocket so that you don't walk around with a bluetooth stuck in your ear when your not using it, 4)Decent sound quality, could use more volume in loud places, 5)Callers rarely complain about the sound quality, 6)USB, AC or battery charger included. CONS: 1)Volume control buttons are tough to use while unit is in use, but it's rare that you adjust volume during use anyway, 2)You have to be careful not loose the ear piece. 1 of 5 Good function, poor design Wednesday, November 28, 2007 Phil from Stamford, CT
This headset comes with some interesting functions, ability to charge the set from a battery, but its overall design is really poor. This big problem is that the ear bud and loop over ear keep coming off. Both are held on by simply rotating the rubber ear bud 45 degrees, of course when you put the ear piece on or take it off if you twist the ear bud the whole thing falls apart in your hands. This happened daily and eventually I lost the ear loop and now have a set of parts that are no use to me. I will not buy another like this. Was this review helpful?
1 of 1 customers found this review helpful. 5 of 5 More expensive than some, but generally worth it. Sunday, September 30, 2007 Conari from Bellingham, WA
I am writing this review after a month of owning and using this product. I have owned five bluetooth headsets over the last few years and this one is far superior to any of the others and it was not the most expensive one in the group, actually it was closer to the midpoint. I've spent more and got far less in terms of clarity, range, comfort, and ease of use. The ability to recharge from a AAA battery has proven to be more useful than I had imagined it would be. Also, being able to a "mini-usb to usb" cable for recharging is a significant plus, between the AAA battery charger, the 110vAC charger, and the usb cable means I can easily keep the thing charged.
As for the clarity and range, both are better than what I have come to expect from previous bluetooth headsets I have owned. As other reviewers have noted the noise cancelling isn't perfect but I have far fewer complaints from the folks on the other end of the call than I have had with the other headsets I have owned. And the way the headset inserts into your ear offers a huge improvement in volume over other units I have owned, often I have to turn it down to hear comfortably. Other units I have owned spent all their time on the max volume setting and still there were times when I had to just take the thing off and put the phone to my ear because either the person on the other end wasn't speaking loudly enough or there was a lot of background noise. I have never attached the ear loop and have never felt I needed it, the unit feels pretty securely anchored once in place.
Oh, and you can turn off the flashing blue light which I find pretty annoying. I'm glad that Plantronics made that an option.
Maybe in the future another design will be released that eclipses this unit but from my experience at this time you can spend either much more or much less money on a bluetooth headset and not get as much as you do with this unit. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Excellent Bluetooth Headset Tuesday, September 25, 2007 Henry from San Antonio, Texas

4 of 5 Good headset under controlled conditions Tuesday, September 25, 2007 Oscar Torres from Solano, CA
I purchased this headset because of its size, value and advertised features. I have found, after some extensive use, that it works well as long as the cell phone is nearby and in line with the headset, and as long as you use it indoors. Just simply having the cell phone in one of the front pant's pocket and having the headset in the opposite ear is enough to introduce some slight interference. The area were I live has light to moderate winds so it's not a good idea to use the headset outside, unless the winds are calm. I really appreciate all the different ways the headset can be charged, by A.C., battery or USB port. Despite these minor "faults", I am satisfied with the purchase. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Best Bluetooth Headset I Have Owned Monday, September 10, 2007 A Customer from Orange County, California
I have purchased 3 different headsets over the years and this one is definitely the best. The sound quality is great and it is very light on my ear. If it is windy outside the other person does hear some wind unfortunately. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Good Value and Better Than Average Performance Tuesday, August 21, 2007 KC from Castaic, CA
I bought the 655 for my Trea 650. Linking to the phone was very straight forward. The quality of sound was very good except in the car with the window open. With the car windows closed, sound quality was good. So far, no complaints from people I've spoken to when using the 655. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Plantronic's 655 Bluetooth Tuesday, August 14, 2007 A Customer from Grand Rapids, MI
I like the 655 much better than my first blue tooth headset. The in-ear sound is great while driving or in a noisy environment, stays put and is more comfortable than others. Multiple charging options cover all of my travel scenarios. The only criticism I have is that the soft ear piece does come off of the headset fairly easily and can be lost. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Works great except in the wind Monday, August 13, 2007 Juergen from San Francisco, CA
Works over all great with distortion free sound quality, except in the wind conversation is impossible (both ways). So if you live close to the coast, or you want to use the headset mostly outside, you may want to choose something else... Was this review helpful?
1 of 1 customers found this review helpful. 4 of 5 Better than others Sunday, August 12, 2007 A Customer from Wakefield, MA
This is my 4th BT headset, and it's the smallest, lightest, and best sound quality. However, it's not perfect.
With my older SonyEricsson phone, the headset has to be very close to the phone or the sound quality is noticeably degraded. Opened an incident with Plantronics support and they told me that it has to be within line of sight, on the same side of the body as the phone, which sounds quite absurd to me. It might as well be that my phone is getting old.
It's scratches easily but that's expected from plastic products. (I'd wish these were more 'rubberized').
It's essentially the same as model 665, but the accessories and color combination changes. All accessories can be found at Plantronics resellers. The main difference is that this one comes with a wall charger, and the 665 with a car charger.
I end up using the USB charger. This one comes with a female plug and a short USB cable, which coincidentally works directly with Motorola chargers. The 665 comes with a short male cable in one piece. I like this one better since I don't need to carry extra cables.
The buttons are easy to operate, but I'd with it had a dedicated on-off button. I like to leave it on the car, and waiting 5 to 10 seconds to turn it off is a bit much.
It's a Plantronics product so I expected top quality. It's very high quality, but it's not top-quality to me.
This is one of the few BT 2.0 devices on the market. Most other devices are either BT 1.1 or BT 1.2
At a time, I used it on a 3-hour conference call (with the phone on the table next to me) and it worked great.
It does seem to pick up everything if I'm on the street.
The mute function I find it a bit cumbersome, I'm never sure if I left it on mute or not.
The best feature so far is that I don't have to have it on my ear all the time. I can leave it on its pod and it vibrates with an incoming call. Taking it out of its pod answers the call, so I don't have to fiddle with buttons. The pod has a pen-like clip which I find it convenient to clip on my belt.
It's blue status light is way too bright. I'd wish it could be dimmed. It's so bright that makes me look silly carrying that; even in office lighting is noticeably bright, not to mention driving at night. Sometimes I thought there was a cruiser behind me. No, it's the silly bluetooth light.
Pricing wise, it's a tad more expensive than what I was willing to pay, but this being my 4th BT headset, I decided this might be a better long-term choice. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Better than the others Sunday, July 01, 2007 ZOT from Irving, TX
I've tried several bluetooth headsets over the years (Jabra, Motorola) and this is the best one by far. There are several charging options that are great since I'm on the road 90% of the time... I don't quite get 30ft of range... probably 5-10ft before you can start telling the difference in sound quality. Sync'ed up perfectly and without any issues with my Blackberry Pearl. Sound quality is a little better than average on my end, but everyone i talk to can't even tell that i'm on a headset which is nice...
I really think that the bluetooth is very overhyped, but version 2.0 is significantly better than 1.1 or 1.2 (which were very poor technology in my opinion). I would buy this product again, however there's still a ton of improvement that can be made in bluetooth technology. Was this review helpful?

Clear sound quality. Easy sync. Comfortable fit. Great charging options, with the USB, AAA Battery, and the carrier. Buy.com had the best price, fast delivery. 5 of 5 Great convenience. Monday, June 11, 2007 A Customer from Boston, MA
I really like the fact that this BT headset has a "docking" carrier that can be clipped to clothing, car sun visor, etc. I lost my last bluetooth device (Motorola) because it fell out of a pocket.
Adding to the convenience, the removal of the headset from the carrier will answer calls. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Great sound but has some issues Friday, June 08, 2007 A Customer from Los Angeles, CA
This is the best BT headset I've tried so far. The sound quality is excellent. However, it does not always play well with my Motorola Q Phone. Calls randomly transfer back and forth between the headset and handset with no warning. And sometimes the headset thinks it's on a call when it isn't and then it completely ignores the button (can't even turn it off!). But the light weight, comfort, and really great sound make up for those quirks. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Excellent - but watch out for COMPATIBILITY Tuesday, May 01, 2007 A Customer from Rochester, NY
Very light, great sound. Typical high-quality from Plantronics. BUT - be careful about compatibility. It's May '07, and Palm hasn't issued a new sfwe release that will work with this device. When they do, this will be simply an awesome, must have headset. Was this review helpful?

5 of 5 outstanding blue tooth headset Thursday, April 05, 2007 A Customer from Philadelphia, PA
This is my first bluetooth headset.
Setup was easy -- no problems associating w/ my Verizon krzr. The battery life is more than adequate for my needs, although I'm not a heavy user. Making a couple calls per day over the two weeks, I have only charged it once, occasionally giving it a boost with the very nifty AA holder/charger that comes with the device. I haven't missed the lack of a car charger. I really like the ergonomics of the unit. The buttons are quite intuitive, and the unit flashes when you turn it on to advise you of current battery status, which is a nice touch. Other reviewers have complained the battery seemed stiff -- I haven't had that problem. The headset is very comfortable, although the most I've used it is two hours. The gels supplied weren't a perfect fit for me -- even the biggest was a little tiny bit loose. However, the supplied ear hook provides extra security and even with that setup, the headset is still quite comfortable. The device itself is incredibly light, making it easy to carry. I just stash loose in my shirt pocket. The gel earset keeps it from popping out of my shirt pocket unexpectedly. Voice quality on both ends seems excellent (although I have no comparisons), with rare episodes of static. The noisiest environment I've used it in is car w/ window up and walking outside in city streets. Voice commands have worked well. Overall, I'd buy it again and highly recommend it. 5 of 5 One of my best Bluetooth experiences Thursday, April 05, 2007 A Customer from Seymour, CT
The 655 has been one of the clearest and best noise cancelling Bluetooth headsets I have owned. I have had models from just about every Vendor out there and this one has also been the most comfortable to wear. I do realize that all of us will have a different fit but this one was the right one for me.

It is light and very easy to use. However, I use this headset primarily to skype on my powerbook, and well, I get some STATIC! 4 of 5 655 with my Treo 700w Tuesday, April 03, 2007 Dwayne from Atlanta, Georgia
After receiving the 655, mating it with my 700w was easy. It was difficult to keep the 655 mated with my 700w at first and I considered returning it. I had to take my old headset profile and delete it from 700w and reset the 700w to get the 655 operating correctly. Now the 655 works flawlessly. The sound quality of my calls are superior to my Jabra 500 headset. The 655 is more comfortable than my Jabra headset and the charging cradle, with the AAA battery charger, is a great asset to using my 700w. **** Was this review helpful?

5 of 5 Best Bluetooth headset yet Monday, March 26, 2007 A Customer from West Haven, Connecticut
I've purchased the Jabra, Sony, Motorola and others, but returned them back, because of bad performance. Since then I've purchased the Plantronics 640 and I've relatively had no problems, except the earbud that fits in my ear gets worn and you can't just buy that one size, you have to buy all three sizes and that's a waste. Overall, I think the plantronics is the best Bluetooth headset so far. I've since purchased the 655 and 665 for myself and a couple of friends, who also love them. Was this review helpful?

I got this one because of allthe good reviews on it. The 30ft. radius is bull. If you get 5ft. away it starts cracking. It's not to bad but noticeable. When I first used it, it just unlinked with my phone. I had to power off my phone to get it to find each other again. Haven't had that happen again, though. Good things about this. The noise canceling is good. When its clear, its real clear. I can ride with the windows down and have conversations no problem. Good reception on other end to. Voice dialing is awesome. I never even open my phone anymore. That is a convenience that almost makes up for the range. Was this review helpful?
1 of 1 customers found this review helpful. 5 of 5 Very good headset Thursday, March 15, 2007 A Customer from Cambridge, Massachusetts
It is good.
The thing quickly mates with the cell phone -- I leave it off, and it can mate during the ring or in the middle of a conversation, prolonging the (otherwise short) battery life.
People never complain about the sound, and the volume is quite adequate. The controls are perfectly convenient, with mute accessible and audible via periodic beeps (very useful for my application).
If there is wind or excess noise outside, it thinks I am speaking and silences the other side -- even if the mute is on. Requires cupping one's hand over the microphone in such circumstances, but somewhere between awkward and dangerous on a bicycle.
I wish that additional charging holsters were less expensive -- I like to have one at home, one at work, but not happy to spend another 25$ or so for one. Was this review helpful?
1 of 1 customers found this review helpful. 5 of 5 The BT Headset I've been hoping for Monday, March 05, 2007 A Customer from Anaheim, CA
I've had a number of BT headsets over the years, from 1st gen Bluetake's (Terrible), to the several Jabras (good), and now this Plantronics 655. The 655 is far and away the best headset in virtually every category. It's nicely-sized, the controls are very intuative, the sound quality is excellent, and even the transmit range to the phone is good (you can go about 15 feet from your phone before you start getting static).
Really the nicest feature of this headset is the sound quality, on both sides of the conversation. The active noise cancelling certainly works, though it does have its limitations. You are not going to successfully carry on a conversation on an airport runway, for instance, but the unit does an admirable job of cutting normal wind noise when outside or moderate-levels of noise when driving. I've been told by people I've spoken to when in my car that they though I was still in my office talking to them, and that's high praise indeed.
The included AAA "pocket" charger and clever USB/AC chargers are also very nice accessories that you'd usually have to buy seperately, and I really appreciated them. The AAA charger in particular is an innovative and very smart inclusion for which the Plantronics team should be commended. It adds real value to the package as a whole.
In conclusion, the only reason I rate this unit 4 out of 5 for performance is that the sound cancelling could be a bit better, but the honest truth is that to get better performance you really have to go to a much larger headset. Given the size of the 655, it's arguable that it really should get 5 out of 5 in all categories. Was this review helpful?

Works well with my Samsung D600 -- pairs easily and stays connected. Small, light, and comfortable. 1 of 1 customers found this review helpful. 5 of 5 Excellent BT headset - better than the 640! Tuesday, February 27, 2007 Keith from Dublin, OH
I have tried a number of different BT headsets in the quest for the "perfect" headset. I had a couple of Motorola units and then the Plantronics Discovery 640. Recently, while shuffling items between cars in a dark parking lot, the 640 came lose from its charger/holster and fell out of my shirt pocket. I didn't realize it was gone until it was too late.
Having been very pleased with the sound quality (both listening and speaking) with the Plantronics 640 I decided to get another. While searching a popular online shopping site I saw a special for the 655, which seems to be a newer version with their DSP (digital signal processing) technology. Given the attractive price I quickly purchased it.
The 655 is similar to the 640 in that it has a clever "holster" for holding and charging the headset. It comes with several attachments that allow it to be charged with their own AC charger as well as through a USB connection. It also has a snap-on battery charger adapter which is great for day trips. It uses a AAA battery and snaps onto the bottom of the holder. It is real handy for day trips in that I can put the headset in the battery charger and ensure that I am always at full charge.
The holder for the 655 seems to hold the headset much more securely than the 640. This is a common complaint that I have seen of the 640; it easily comes loose in the holder and does not always keep a secure fit. This also causes problems when you are charing. If it gets a little loose, the power connection is broken and it won't charge. With the 655 it seems they have greatly improved the fit and the headset settles in with an assuring feel. If the 640 had a better fit I would not have lost it!
The 655, like the 640, is an "in the ear" model, which is important to me. Unlike "over the ear" styles that get tangled up with sunglasses, the 655 (and 640) go directly into the ear with no need for an around-the-ear holder. One is provided, but you don't need it. There are 3 different sized ear gels to help ensure a good fit with your ear.
The 655 quickly paired with my phone (Motorola Q) and so far I have gotten good reports. Overall I am really pleased with the 655. I hate that I had to lose my 640 to get acquainted with it, but I am pleased that I did!

First of all, I love this thing. It works great, and I have absolutely no complaints whatsoever.
Historically: I'm kind of bluetooth-challenged. I have a difficult time getting things to loop over my ear, and once I do, they never seem to lay quite right... I always feel like the bluetooth isn't secure, and I've never liked any that I tried. Plus, they aways got hung up in my hair (it's long) or with my sunglasses as I was putting on/taking off either the bluetooth or the sunglasses. Sometimes I've felt that I couldn't hear too well, like the speaker wasn't in quite the right place for my ear.
ANYWAY... none of these issues are a factor with this headset!! The ear piece fits right into my ear (nothing over the top or around the ear), the gel earpiece secures the entire thing, and it doesn't feel like it's going anywhere...even when being active. I'm never going to forget that it's there (there IS something stuffed in your ear) but it's no more distracting than an old fashioned "wired" earpiece.
The sound is great... i don't have it anywhere NEAR the loudest setting. Ease of use is top-notch, set-up took less than 5 minutes (including reading the instructions), and the sound is clear on either end.
The box comes with a load of goodies... "geek candy" if you will. There are various ways to charge the headset... including by AAA battery which is HUGELY convenient when you're on the road or away from a power source. There's also an AC charger, and a USB charger... if you don't have a constantly charged bluetooth with all of THOSE options, then I don't know what to say.
Plus, every other bluetooth looks a little "over done" compared to this Plantronics... This unit is super small, with nothing extra, no extra plastic loops or long booms or anything unnecessary hanging off of it.
Form and functionality are both present and accounted for with this bluetooth. I hope you'll be just as happy with yours.

This is the best headset I've owned so far. The sound quality is excellent on both ends of the connection. Every person I've called with this headset has been able to hear me loud and clear, even in situations where I've had lots of background noise. The DSP (finally) works! This is also the first headset I've owned that has not needed to be on full volume for me to hear everything. With that said, be aware of a couple of small issues: (1) When it's in its charging device it vibrates intermittently -- to let you know it's charging. There's no way to turn that function off and it can get irritating if it's in your pocket. (2) I notice a definite increase in static and signal degradation whenever I'm more than 10 feet from my phone (RAZR V3c). That last one is no big deal for me since I use this device mostly in my car -- where I'm rarely 10 feet away. Anyway, by way of comparison, the headsets that are now relegated to the drawer are the Motorola H3, Jabra JX10, Motorola H350, Motorola H850, and Motorola H500. None of these come close. I have used wired headsets before always getting tangled up and the phone sometimes dropped because of the cord pulling on it - now I can keep my phone safe in my pocket or placed somewhere nearby. This unit doesn't looky geeky like other ones that hook over your ear and some that cover you whole ear. The soft gel ear piece fits snuggly inside my ear and I can hear the caller perfectly! Oh, even the caller can hear me - perfectly - it has noise cancellation that works - my voice doesn't cut in and out -callers do not hear any background noise. The sound quality is excellent - I use it with a Razer V3. Battery usage is excellent - it has a LiON battery that lasts for at least 4-5 hours talk time - the AAA snap on battery charger is great for in a pinch like traveling in the car - otherwise it's charged by USB on the computer in about an hour. While its being stored in my pocket or being charged it fits into a sleeve that's like an oversized pen cap - it has a clip like a pen cap that will keep the unit secure in your pocket for quick retrieval.Overall it's an awesome unit. Plantronics is the leader in headsets of all types for decades - you won't be disappointed. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Excellent Bluetooth Device! Thursday, February 08, 2007 Ron P. from Chicago, IL
I've had this device for about a week now, and I LOVE IT! It's small and understated, yet stylish and comfortable. This blows away the Motorola H700 I had before (it crumbled away like a brittle cracker). The reception is excellent, but it degrades a bit once I'm about 15 feet away from my mobile. The extras are incredible (carrying case/charger, battery charger, mini-USB cable so it can charge with your computer, multi-sized soft gel ear tips) which makes this an even better value. Highly recommended!!! Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Plantronics Discovery 655 is a keeper! Wednesday, February 07, 2007 Josh in Los Angeles from Los Angeles, California
I've been on a quest... California has passed a new law, outlawing the use of a cell phone while driving, without using a hands-free device.
I purchased a Cardo Scala headset, which sounded good, but simply felt VERY cheap. The volume rocker switch felt flimsy, and was hard to use.
Next, I tried a friends Motorola H700 for a couple of days. After about 45 minutes of wearing it, my ear would hurt. But the bigger problem was, in order to pair with your phone, you are supposed to flip open the mic. Clever design... unless a call comes in which goes to your cell phone, while you are wearing the H700 (and the boom is already extended)! Most other BT devices would give you the option to switch an active call from the cell to the headset by simply pressing the multi-function button... however, the H700 didn't HAVE that option!
The Plantronics 655 is very comfortable, and sounds excellent when paired with my Samsung T809 phone. Comes with numerous charging options, including allowing you to charge with AAA batteries! Excellent! Never need to worry about a dead headset!
Also comes with a carrying/charging case. Put the headset in the case when you don't need to use it, and when a call comes in, the cradle will vibrate... simply remove it from the carrying cradle, put it on, and your call is answered automatically! When the call is done, returning the 655 to it's cradle ends the call.
Also has AC charging option, and USB option!
I do believe that Plantronics knows a thing or two about headsets, and this one is a winner! Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Easy to Use Monday, January 29, 2007 A Customer from New York, NY
As this is my first bluetooth i am unable to make any comparisons but it is easy to notice the clear sound quality. Since the earbud fits right into the ear, the clarity of sound is actually better than the phone. Also, since i wear glasses, the ear bud rather than the normal Over-the-Ear makes it the most comfortable.
As the bluetooth (already in standby mode) takes about 2 seconds to connect to my LG Vx8500, it gives me enough time to manuever the ear bud in place. I've read reviews where the delay on other bluetooth headsets would provoke callers to hang up but i find the lag between pick up and talking extremely negligible. It's also able to connect to the voice activated commands on the phone which make it that much easier to keep your hands free.
On occassion, the digital signal process (DSP) will "crunch" the sound, making the highs & lows cut out. Once, Like a bad mp3 file, the digital signal created a crackle and pop. Making it impossible to continue using on that particular call. But the problems so far are minor and easily disregarded. As I use it only in the office, i can't speak of "exterior" sound quality or the advertised 35 ft connectivity. I do know that with any wireless connection, the less obstacles between the two the better. Therefore, i always leave the phone & ear-piece on the left side of my body.
Overall, the plantronics 655 is feather light, has convenient multiple charging options, with clear sound quality. If you're looking for "perfect" sound, I don't think it exist in bluetooth. But this'll probably be the closest thing you'll get for less than $100. Was this review helpful?

I bought the Plantronics Discovery 655 hoping that it would be better than Plantronics Discovery 640. Nope. I have a LG-VX8100 that works fine with the Plantronics Discovery 640 and Voice Command.
The problem with the 655 is that before you hear the "Please say a command" from the phone, the phone has timed out. It's because the 655 and the phone take too long to handshake.
When I contacted Plantronics they agreed after testing it at there end and they offered to exchange the 655 with a 640, that works much better. Was this review helpful?

I had the Moto H700 and I liked it but all of the sudden the battery life was reduced to a few minutes after full charge. The best feature about the H700 was the fold out mini-boom that turns the unit on and off. I did have a problem hearing in loud environments. So, I liked it but could not buy another sinced it crapped out so quickly.
I bought a Plantronics Discovery 655 as a replacement and so far so good. I chose it because of the in-ear design which I theorized would give better sound in loud environments. It took a while to get the ear bud positioned correctly and comfortably but it is working great now. It is more comfortable to wear when driving with sunglasses (no over the ear clip). The multiple charging options are a great feature as well as the vibrating pen case. It is a pain to have to turn it on and off with the button but I can live with that.
I use this with a Blackberry 7130c. Was this review helpful?
