I have used the Plantronics 550 DSP for almost a year and have been very happy. A few weeks ago I purchased a second 550 DSP for a friend of mine who lives in Kabul. He was only able to buy cheap headsets in Kabul, and since we needed to talk regularly on Skype, I sent him a 550 DSP. The difference was amazing! Not only can we communicate clearly, but there are no dropouts and our communication is almost as good as a telephone call with your neighbor! The only change was the headset, so all the credit goes to the 550 DSP. Highly recommended! Was this review helpful?

The Plantronics Audio 550 DSP Ultimate Performance Headset is the best I have ever had. It is a professional headset second to none.
I call overseas everyday using Skype, MSN, VoipStunt, VoipBuster or any other VOIP (Voice over the Internet Protocol) program.
The microphone has a Noise Canceling feature which is the best.
The earphones are Lightweight, flexible headband provides comfortable all-day wearSwivel-mounted, pillow-soft ear cushionsQuickAdjust mic assures ideal placement.
The reason I chose Plantronics is because the make the best AirPilot headsets and many other Professional audio Equipment.
You will never regret to have bought this headset.

Worked great right out of the box with no software installation required - I use it for Battlefield2 and Skype extensively with no problems. Only change would be a little looser fit over the ears - my head isn't that big and wearing it for several hours can be bothersome (which would likely be with other headsets also :) ). The mic quality is excellent and sound quality is above average. I only wished that the headset covers my ears entirely. I thought it will fully enclose my ears but actually sets right on top of my ear lobes. It doesn't feel like it is a tight fit, but still very comfortable. other than that this is an excellent product Was this review helpful?

Ordered the Plantronics .Audio 550 DSP Ultimate Performance Headset, Buy.com did an excellent job of having the order processed and shipped on time.
The headset installed on all three of my PC's with out a hitch.
2 running XP-pro one running XP-Home.
No issues, it works perfect either listening to music ro having conversations.
Downloaded the additional software from Plantronics and it installed without any issues. It works great as well.
