But Tanabe soon discovers that hauling in space debris is not only dull and monotonous--it carries with it a unique set of difficulties and dangers. PLANETES avoids the wild, fantastical tropes of much sc-fi anime in favor of realistic hard science that emphasizes character development and gorgeously rendered animation.
