The receiver arrived within 5 days of placing the order, it was in brand new condition sealed in the factory packaging, and I am very satisfied. The remote does have a ton of buttons, but once you get into the GUI setup it is farely intuitive. Surround sound quality is amazing as well as 2 channel sound, and I love the volume leveling. My previous receiver did not have this feature, so I noticed a big difference with commercials. I recommend downloading the manual .pdf from Pioneer's site so you can do a word search. Once you use it, you'll never go back to the paper manual. I highly recommend the receiver and Magnolia. Two thumbs up! Was this review helpful?

The Pioneer VSX-1019 sounds great, with all sorts of bells and whistles. There are plenty of places to research everything it does so I'm just going to limit my review to my pet peeves about this product.
Note: Overall I am pleased with this receiver..................
Cons:..................
1. No HDMI passthru (no HDMI signal passed thru with system off)
..............
2. Horribly complicated to setup, poor manual. Most of the functions require digging into the manual because they are not intuitive.

3. Limited assignable inputs. HDMI cannot be assigned to preset types (ie. DVD, TV,DVR,etc)
.................
4. Sub crossover frequencies are limited ranges.
.........................
5. The Auto Leveling Control (ALC) doesnt seem to smooth out the volume levels very well, if at all. At least with sound going thru the HDMI.
