I had a few issues with the plugins when upgrading from V11 to V12. I am still not sure if I like the performance of V12 better than version 11, but the HD output in V12 is outstanding.
Pinnacle technical support eventually resovled the plugin issues after my 3rd call (luck of the draw with technical support) with a reinstall and two additional patch downloads.
The software allows some better than average production tools, especially in this price range. Was this review helpful?

It's easy to use and quite intuitive if you've done video editing before. Best of all, it seems quite stable. The DVD menu selections are very good, and rendering process time is pretty fast (3-4 time the movie length). It even has a reasonably good selection of video eport formats to choose from, but it sports only two audio channels, and two video channels, which limits it's usefulness. Also, it should be noted that the word "Ultimate" in the title is not a good description. Like so many products out there this is really a platform to get you to buy some very pricy upgrades. I expected it to come with just about everything Pinnacle had to offer. Plug-in packages are typically $99, which is more than I paid for the software to begin with. I just don't expect to have to upgrade something labeled "Ultimate". For the novice, this is a very good suite. For advanced users, it leaves you wanting more. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 I love it Monday, October 06, 2008 Robert R from Hollister Mo
I was using Pinnacle 9 on my old computer and I liked it very much, recently I purchased a new H.P.computer (also from Buy.com)at a fantastic bargain, so I decided to upgrade to Pinnacle 12 and was thrilled with it,there are more features, I love the chroma key, it takes a little learning, but it's worth it,Thanks Buy.com.. 5 of 5 Best I've used Monday, August 18, 2008 Jack from Midland, Texas
I've tried Adobe Elements, Sony, Sonic, and the Studio is the best in my opinion. Just upgraded from Studio 9+, and am still learning all the new features... Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Expensive but worth it Monday, July 14, 2008 A Customer from Wilbraham, MA
First video editing software I've owned but I can't see finding one better. Intuitive, easy to use, no major performance issues. Can create movies in minutes or you can use extremely sophisticated editing techniques and create one of a kind movies. Was this review helpful?

This product has a lot of features that you have to learn how to use it properly. Awesome product but it is going to take me a while to figure it all out. Was this review helpful?
