5 of 5 Great product, so-so software Sunday, July 19, 2009 Gary from 06370
Pro's- Easy setup, cheap, audio/video stays in sync, hardware also works with other Windows applications like Movie Maker. DVD Instant Recorder software will let you burn to disc or store on hard drive (this is important, more later)
Con's- Included "editing" software is so crippled as to be useless, you have to purchase plug-ins to do just about anything, DVD Instant Recorder software breaks Windows Media Player CD burning ability and some bugs!
This post is for all the people getting Windows Media Player error "0xC00D1176: Cannot find a CD recorder" when trying to burn MP3 files to audio CD. The DVD Instant Recorder software installs its own burning driver that breaks Windows Media Player CD burning functionality. All I did was uninstall the Dazzle software and the CD burning function returned to Windows Media Player.
Use DVDShrink to edit beginning and end of DVD and fix file structure! Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 happy with it Friday, July 17, 2009 A Customer from boston, ma
based on previous review, downloaded 64-bit driver for Vista from Pinnacle website first. then installed software from 3 disks that were included. i tried transferring VHS tape, worked great, you need VCR to transfer. also, i tried transferring from those 8mm tapes from camcorder, you need a camcorder to transfer. worked fine too. the device comes with 2 software packages - one allows transferring directly to DVD disk without saving to computer (it still needs to be hooked up to computer), the other allows to transfer to computer so that editing can be performed. the only drawback i see - you can't speed up the process, if you are transferring an hour long video, it will take you an hour to transfer. 3 of 5 Average Experience Wednesday, July 08, 2009 A Customer from Englewood, CO
I bought the unit and the instruction is not good. I installed one CD and not able to install the others on my VISTA based laptop! Later, I successfully installed all 3 disks on a Window XP destop and it then worked.
Note: you have to play the VCR or camcord to record the video, which is not in the manual.

I had the Dazzle DVC150 but a driver will not be made for 64-bit Vista. Found that Pinnacle created a 64-bit driver for the DVC-100. The refurbished unit works great. Downloaded the 64-bit driver from Pinnacle first. Installed the DVD Recorder software. Plugged in the DVC100. Vista 64 recognized with no issue. Have not captured direct to Studio 12 but am not expecting any issue. Was this review helpful?

This is a good product to convert your VHS tapes to DVD. It is a one shot process and so that is good, You start the BURN and then come back after 1-2 hrs.
One drawback is that there is no way you can pause and resume the recording. It is an all or none option. Another drawback is that if there is some problem in the tape, lets say your tape has 50 mins of movies and u set the recording for 120 mins, it errors out as the VHS player stops after 50 mins and somehow Dazzle errors out. If you have a full tape it does a good job.
I did not have any problem with the installations and connections. Was this review helpful?

I had success the first time I used the product. I copied an old VHS tape directly to a disk with no problem. I then copied another tape to the hard drive. It took almost two days, searching for how to answers etc., to get it from the hard drive to a CD. The product is not very user friendly, at least to my way of thinking. Also the Pinnacle site was not very helpful. Was this review helpful?

5 of 5 Pinnacle Dazzle DVD Recorder,Factory Refurbished - Tuesday, April 21, 2009 A Customer from San Antonio, TX
For the price this is an excellent buy. I bought this because my older VHS copy program didn't work with my Vista upgrade. This one has no problems with VISTA and works great on the AMD 2.0 GHz processor. Product comes with all the software to convert your old VHS tapes to DVD easily. The software is very simple to use. I've only used the DVD Wizard function so far but have been able to convert my old movies, documentaries and exercise VHS tapes with ease. You can't beat the free shipping either! I couldn't find anything that comes close for the price. I highly recommend. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Pinnacle Dazzle DVD Recorder Tuesday, April 21, 2009 Sandy from Ashland
You need to have your computer close to your television set or a whole lot of cable. Kinda of confusing on how to hook it up (In the manual in one spot it states it should never be connected to the computer and tv, however this is not the case). Great support experience. Overall very satisfied. Was this review helpful?
