With his partner, Gilbert Ponton (Jean Reno, The Da Vinci Code, The Professional), he careens from one misadventure to the next, leaving mayhem in his wake from the boulevards of Paris to the streets of New York. Will he seduce the pop diva, Xania (Beyonce, Austin Powers: Goldmember)? Will he push Chief Inspector Dreyfus (Oscar winner Kevin Kline, A Fish Called Wanda, In & Out) over the edge? Will he catch the killer and recover the diamond? With Inspector Clouseau. What is UMDTM? Editor's Note
IN THEATRES: FEBRUARY 10, 2006It's not easy to fill Peter Sellers's shoes as zany French private eye Jacques Clouseau, but in this remake of the 1960s film series, Steve Martin steps up to the challenge. Here, Clouseau investigates the murder of a professional soccer coach whose famous "pink panther" diamond ring was stolen.

| | Professional Reviews | Chicago Sun-Times 7 of 10 Clouseau is wrong, and so is Kevin Kline as Inspector Dreyfus, the role that Herbert Lom made into a smoldering slow burn. Kline and Martin both wear the costumes and try the bad French accents, but it's like the high school production of something you saw at Steppenwolf, with the most gifted students in drama class playing the John Malkovich and Joan Allen roles. - Roger Ebert
