Overall, I am not happy with this product and will have to sell mine. Walking is very difficult on this treadmill, if not impossible. It does offer a runner an intense workout because you have to supply your own power. Because you supply the power to move the tread, it takes extra effort. It is also very difficult to keep a steady pace. If I were to improve this treadmill I would add a much larger and heavier flywheel to aid in keeping the tread moving at an even pace. I'll give it this, it's not boring to run on. Some of your weight has to be on your hands so you can push the tread along and not fall off. Also on the positive side, it's more portable than other treadmills, and easy to move around because it's not big or that heavy. Its construction is pretty good, it's not flimsy. But it's not what I'd call "heavy duty" either. I am 300 lbs. and it seems to handle my weight OK. But I only used it for a few days. I do not recommend it for someone my size who needs to walk fast, not run. (at my weight, running is too "high impact")
