| | | Philips SRU8015 Prestigo allows you to enjoy the home entertainment experience with the ease of one remote. It features an easy-to-read 2-inch high-resolution color TFT-LCD display, allowing you to program the correct channel icons for the right channel. Once set up, you use the LCD screen information to zap through your channels using the icons of TV stations instead of the digit keys on your remote. The channel icon library holds up to 400 icons and 100 programmable channel icons. You can also use the rotary cursor control for fast menu navigation through icon library. This remote features activity-based operations as opposed to component-based operations. By pushing "Watch a Movie", the remote turns on all devices needed to watch a movie. This eliminates the confusion of pushing multiple buttons in the correct sequence. The remote's keys and display automatically light up when picked up, making it easy to use in the dark. This remote is capable of controlling up to 15 home entertainment devices. Using the universal IR code database system, it can be programmed to control most brands of audio/video equipment without needing to learn individual signals. Setup is easy with the on-device step-by-step instructions, so there's no need to input any 3-digit programming codes. The Prestigo remote also has learning functionality, allowing it to learn device codes from the original remote simply by pointing to it.
| | Features | | The 15 in 1 controller provides the convenience of controlling up to 15 home entertainment devices with one remote control | | The remote control incorporates a library of channel icons for most countries’ main TV stations; via the color LCD screen you can program the right channel icons for the right channel | | The universal IR code database refers to a library of infrared codes built-in to a particular remote. This feature allows the remote to control your equipment without needing to learn individual signals | | Unlike other universal remote controls, where a 3-digit code needs to be input to identify a brand and device, this remote incorporates on-device step-by-step instructions to setup your equipment, regardless of brand | | High resolution quality ( 2.0 inch high resolution, 220×175 pixel TFT display) ensures great readability of the content on the screen | | The rotary wheel cursor enables you to navigate through the setup menu and the device pages, in both clockwise and counter-clockwise directions | | Backlighting illuminates the LCD screen and keypad for use in the dark (Backlight color: White) |

2 of 5 Doesnt work with all items Thursday, January 07, 2010 A Customer from traverse city, MI
This remote looked great, but it doesn't work with my brand new receiver. Since we bought for Christmas present, but 5 days too early, it is too late to return it. It also doesn't use your receiver as sound controller for the tv, something I was looking for it to do. Overall very disappointed with Buy.com return policies. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Finally A Univ. Remote That Learns! Tuesday, December 01, 2009 A Customer from hillside, nj
Pick this awesome remote up for $35. It does it all. And if it can't do it, it learns from the remote that controls your device. I should have bought more when they were on sale. And it controls 15 devices.
The end all to all universal remotes! Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Good First Impression Sunday, November 29, 2009 Steve from Vacaville, CA
Have used it for a week now and was happy with ease of programming. Had first four devices up and running very quickly. Added 25 cable "favorites" shortly after that, and one "activity" - that sets up both dvd and tv. Also "trained" a couple of additional buttons. So now need to add more devices - not sure if I will find 15. The layout and size (small) of the buttons, combined with the extreme bottom weight (three AA's on the end closest to you) makes me fumble with it a bit, but not a show-stopper. 5 of 5 very easy without manual! Friday, November 27, 2009 Gary from Warren, Ohio
as soon as you put in the batteries, the onscreen directions come on and walk you through the setup of adding your devices. You can even turn on all of your devices with one button. I have multiple brands (Sharp HD TV, Sony sound system, Toshiba DVD, and Scientific Atlanta cable box) the remote "found" all devices in seconds and all devices worked on 1st try. The wheel in the middle of the device could be a little wider for my taste, but it functions well. I have to admit to going into the manual to set up all devices turning on at once, but getting it to work basic on/off operation could not be more easy. The price is nice, but open up a buy.com credit card and get an instant $30 off - this remote for $4.99? Insane price! Was this review helpful?

All you need is a cheap usb IR adapter (for ps3). Google it. This remote is awesome and a steal at 35 bucks. I can't wait to get it XD Was this review helpful?

Overall I like the remote except you have to be careful of the RING. It's handy to be sure, but it can get in the way especially if you're using the Arrows inside the ring. If you happen to slide your fingers around to navigate the Arrows, you could inadvertently turn the Ring and select other components and wonder why your original component isn't responding to your commands. I think a Thumb Wheel would've been better.
Also, it doesn't offer a complete line of Channel Logo's (it offers a lot), don't know where Philips got the ABC Logo though.
For the Adults, I think the buttons could be alittle bigger (not much bigger). I do like the concept. You just have to remember you are not only telling the component what to do, you're also telling the remote what to do. Was this review helpful?

This remote freed up the 6+ remotes I had, the custom button programming works great. It even controls my electric heater in the room, love it! Was this review helpful?

This is my 3rd attempt to find a remote that can consolidate my various components and allow me to mostly not need the originals. At $40 this sucker knocks it out of the park. How about an easy to program, one button to perform multiple actions! That is a real smart remote at a dumb remote price. I am truly pleased with the ease, intelligence and reliability of use. Allows for programing over the air numbers like 2.1 and 26.3, etc. Every channel can be entered with an icon for easy reading. Then you just scroll to the one you want and press button. I like the fact that it illuminates all the buttons, too. The only thing that could be better would be more shape on channel and volume buttons so I could feel them without having to look.
