5 of 5 HDTV Primarily Broadcast on UHF Saturday, September 05, 2009
    A Customer from Montvale, NJ

For those of you who aren't aware, the majority of broadcast are on UHF. This is in response to the UHF Only comments. The FCC has claimed back the old VHF frequencies (2-13) to be auctioned off for other technologies. Very few HD broadcast are over VHF airwaves. So, a UHF antenna is fine for receiving almost all HD broadcast.

    2 of 5 UHF only! Tuesday, January 06, 2009
A Customer from New York, NY
I live in Manhattan and have only gotten a few of the channels one would expect from this antenna; and the quality of those received is less than stellar. Keep in mind that this antenna will NOT pick up any VHF signals- usually those channels from 2-13; why Philips would make a UHF only antenna is beyond me considering that those channels will convert to digital after February 17. I'm sending mine back!

    5 of 5 Great Antenna! Monday, June 23, 2008
    A Customer from Orlando, FL
I decided to cancel my cable service and needed a good antenna to pull in local signals. Right off the bat, I’ll tell you: this is the BEST antenna I’ve ever used! The outstanding performance may result from being hooked up to the DTV converter box, my location (Orlando, FL) and however close I may be to my local towers. So I‘m not sure how the MANT940 works on its own. Also, I replaced the incoming cable line into my apartment with the cable MANT940, leading to all my Tvs, connecting the cable extension lines to the dtv converter box, and the box to the Tvs, and voila! I mounted the antenna to the wall, but quickly discovered I need the freedom of being able to move it around (if necessary). For now, it’s working perfectly well just laying on top of the bookcase next to the television-- barely noticeable-- pulling in 15 area channels. My hope is that it will pick up even more after the Feb 09 kick-off. If it works this well indoors, I can't imagine how well it would work if installed outdoors. Plus, should I ever move to a location where an outdoor antenna is feasible, then I will not have to purchase another one.

5 of 5 greatest antenna i have found and used Monday, May 05, 2008
    A Customer from joplin mo
i just bought one of these things thinking hmm kinda small, light.but threw all these years going with the regular 5 fingered antenna. you know the one where it looks like a giant hand waving at you in all directions.I bought it thinking it couldnt be worst since all we had to watch isthe 4 regular channels nbc, cbs, abc, pbs but when i connected this small light weight thing i was quite surprized it added 12 more stations i never knew they was there.so now i can watch 16 differant stations most are hd/dtv. this product was really worth the little time it took to set up very versitile in configurations. only real downside this is its cheap RG5 cable it came with and a very short run.so i had to shell out more $$ for a good RG6 and a longer run

2 of 5 Not that great Wednesday, March 19, 2008
    A Perez from Hollywood, FL
I purchased this antenna hoping to replace my indoor Terk powered antenna which picks up all the digital and analog channels in my area (South Broward county in Florida) but was very disappointed. I mounted this thing outside my house with a relatively clear line of sight view to the broadcast antennas, only a few miles away. My reception went from excellent to spotty at best. My Tivo HD has a mode where it can tell you the % of the incoming digital antenna signal. With my old Terk it never got below about 83% on any channel, and most channels were up around 90-95%. With this thing they're mostly in the 70's and sometimes in the mid 80's at the highest. I spent about a half-hour yelling back and forth to my wife "HOW'S THAT?!" As I was up on the ladder adjusting the antenna, but couldn't get the signal any better. On a technical note, I'm using high quality RG-9 cable to the antenna (my old satellite's cable) and also had the power amplifier connected. I'm going to unmount it and try it indoors to see if it's any better. If it is, I will update my review. Otherwise, I'm afraid I can't recommend this antenna. I apologize for this looking like a big blob but they apparently don't recognize new paragraphs here.

5 of 5 Great low profile antenna with good features Tuesday, January 29, 2008
    Rick from Rochester NY
I'll preface this review by saying that I'm only 3 miles from the broadcast towers for all my local channels. I installed this antenna on my roof using a digital compass to assure that it was pointed at the towers (using antenna web dot org). I initially used coax connectors to join two cables together but after getting a poor signal, bought a single length. The quality of the signal is now outstanding. Back to the antenna. Versatile mounting options (mast or mastless and horizontal or vertical), power amplification option (which I don't use) and great looks made the selection of this antenna a no-brainer. Make sure you ground the coax coming into the house, preferably outside the house and use high quality coax for the best signal. You won't be disappointed
