1 of 5 DVD hangs and when you pause it and also you canno Thursday, July 02, 2009
    Somnath from Omaha NE

This is worst product I have ever had. DVD hangs when you click pause button. Worst thing is you cannot switch it off when it hangs. You have to take off the power cord. Also some times it hangs on its own when movie is running (without pausing it).Put some more money and buy a brand new one.

2 of 5 Brightness fluctuates, returning the item Tuesday, June 30, 2009
Chirag Maru from Rolling Meadows, IL
Everything else is fine, but the basics doesn't seem to be in place. The image darkens and then brightens on its own. Kind of like very old movies.

5 of 5 Great deal, easy setup, good value Monday, June 22, 2009
    A Customer from Beaverton, Or
I recently had a DVD player meltdown and this was my replacement, so far I am really happy, the remote is easy to use, the front function buttons work well and it's a great replacement from my old DVD player.

    5 of 5 I LOVE THIS DVD PLAYER Sunday, June 21, 2009
    Jeff from Arnold, MO
Check out all the specs. The only thing it lacks in Optical audio, but if you have HDMI (which I do not, I am connecting through Component connection) you're covered. Standard audio sounds just fine through my TV. Nice and simple remote control and for the price this DVD player is outstanding. I love it. Especially having the ability to play AVIs, Divx, MPG files you name it in clear crystal video being able to burn many more files on one DVD to play back saving me time and money. When you scan forward and back the smoothness of motion is flawless. You won't be disappointed. I just asked my Mom to buy one and I am considering buying another one. I love it!!

5 of 5 Good basic DVD player, great price Friday, May 22, 2009
    JRinGeorgia from Atlanta, GA
I have this exact same unit. It sells for $40 at Walmart brand new, so a great value whether here at Buy.com or elsewhere. It's just a basic player, works well for playing DVDs. HDMI connection works fine, but note that for some reason you must go into the player's menu and select to receive HDMI audio, otherwise your HDMI signal is muted and hard to figure out why. The player's remote control is a little hard to read the button labels but no big deal. Only other quibble is that Philips does not provide the code for the remote control to allow you to program a universal remote to operate this machine, so instead I have to use this DVD player's own remote in addition to my universal remote.
