The video quality and sound quality are good enough to be for a personal player, however, my earlier DVD player that I bought in Costco (must be mastech) had better sound level. The remote control sensitivity is bit week and annoyed me. I bought this specifically for using it in my mini van because of the tablet display sort of appearance. Every time I have to load the disc, I have to unmount it from the saddle arrangement I made. It would have been a huge plus if it had come with a side loading mechanism. The sensitivity of front controls can be improved a bit, but this is definitely a plus compared the Panasonic 8.5" player in costco. I am not much interested in the battery life as most of the rechargeable batteries die down pretty fast with repeated charge-cycles. Most part of the time this is powered up and I mostly use battery power when I shutdown my van engine during gas fill-up.
Improvements needed:
1. Better range and sensitivity for Remote Control
2. Side/top loading mechanism
3. A head-rest mount to fix this to head rest easily

This unit performs as advertised and exceeds my expectations .. I inserted my iPod 30 video and it instantly shook hands and made my videos, movies & music available for viewing/listening. One advantage to utilizing my iPod for the movies is they are digital and have no power consumption as the DVD does for the motor. (Super battery life this way) This is one stop portable entertainment. I put an SD in with pictures and watched a slide show, I played a factory movie as well as home video and all were fine. The resolution at times is just adequate, but for the most part perfect. The picture does not show you that the drawer holding the ipod closes but it DOES. This makes the unit compact and a great addition to me audio/video addiction. Was this review helpful?
