5 of 5 Amazing Device Sunday, February 07, 2010 A Customer from Kansas City, KS
A few years back I used to wonder if someday such a device would become a reality. Lo and Behold, its there and I am using it. It has taken out the pain of going to the ipod and skipping a song or selecting a new one and don't even have to be in the same room trying to align the remote with the device as in IR based remotes.
I love it and strongly recommend as a "must have" for any music lover who own an ipod. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Best of..... Wednesday, February 03, 2010 Paul from Oklahoma
I have tried many docks, even purchased a home theater system with dock and it was not compatible with my iPod Touch 2nd Gen 32GB....this is the best, like other reviewers have stated. You can control the menu directly from the remote via the LCD screen. All areas of the menu on my touch are there and correct. Excellent connection, no pointing it all around the room. Adding other components was equally as easy and controlling them as well. Very detailed menu screens and I found it very easy to navigate and understand what was needed to add the other devices and even customize certain functions. Huge list of "Brand" components are stored on the remote memory for addition.
This is quality also, very nice in hand and the buttons are very comfortable to use, very well built remote that will last. I ordered a second for my other system in the house.
Of course, the price is great from Buy.com. I have priced other stand alone docks for iPod that are supposed to control the menu for way more than Buy.com. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Good Value - Difficult Setup - Slow Response for i Friday, January 29, 2010 Mark from San Francisco, CA
I have this remote and dock. The universal remote works well, although it was a PAIN to program, as I couldn't locate device codes that worked with my Samsung blu-ray, Vizio LCD or Comcast DVR. I had to program EVERY button using the LEARN function, which took me a while. Now that all the buttons are programmed, it works well. As for the iPod controls, it has a small screen on the remote that displays the music or videos that are on the iPod, in much the same way they display on the iPod. The problem is, the remote has to communicate wirelessly with the iPod to obtain the file listings, and it seems to take forever to scroll thru a lot of files. For example, when searching by "artist", it takes all day (well, a long time) to scroll toward the end of the alphabet. And you can't use the iPod to select the music when in the dock - well, I can't with the 2nd gen iPod touch - assume the experience is the same with other iPods. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Amazing Wednesday, December 02, 2009 bytemon from Colorado Springs, CO
This thing is amazing - comes with both s-video and composite video cables. The universal remote is worth it just by itself. Setup takes one minute to hook up to your IPod (mine is an IPod Touch 3G). Everything just works. Song titles, artists, etc. show up on the LCD screen. And the remote works from the other side of my house where wireless coverage is minimal.
You'd pay the price of this entire unit just for a video cable at the Apple Store! Couldn't get my Yamaha tuner to automatically work with the remote - had to set it up manually (the reason for the 4 "ease of use" rating).
Simply a fantastic value! Was this review helpful?

If you are looking to connect your iPOD to your home theater system... buy this! It works great. I love the fact that the remote can actually navigate thru my iPOD menus. You can also connect to your video source via the supplied S-Video or RCA connections.
The remote is great. It uses 3-AAA batteries that are supplied. Was this review helpful?

I have a couple other products from Philips for my Ipod that I don't really care for so I was a little skeptical about this product since it was priced so low. But after hooking it up and playing with it for a couple days now I'm really impressed. In fact it's my new favorite gadget! Set up is very easy. And once it's up and running the remote actually displays all the info from your Ipod right on the built in LCD. I actually have this hooked up to a small receiver in my bedroom and the sound quality is very good. Another plus is this unit has a video output and it actually works with my 2nd Gen Touch! Now that's a big plus because I hooked that up to my bedroom TV. Did I mention that this also charges your Ipod when it's docked. Another nice feature is this remote is also a universal learning remote so I had no problem setting this up with my Teac reference amp, Proview LCD and Direct TV box. All in all I'm very happy with this product and I'm planning on buying a couple more for Xmas gifts this holiday season! Was this review helpful?

I searched for and bought this product after struggling with my DLO Ipod dock for over a year, it never did work and DLO couldnt tell me why. Now I find out the DLO product is limited in play lists and artists. I was pleasantly surprised at the price and the fact that its a universal remote too. Have to say I was very skeptical but reviews were good and price was cheap so thought I'd try it. Within 5 minutes and not reading the instructions I had it running everything in my entertainment center including my Dish Network receiver, even the menu and special feature buttons most universal remotes don't. My 160GB Ipod works perfect. After using it I would pay 4 times what I did for a product like this. Was this review helpful?
