 Editor's Note
The similarity between this film?s title and noir classics such as THE BIG SLEEP is no coincidence. But instead of doing a traditional take on the genre, THE PERFECT SLEEP infuses its story with characters who will be familiar to readers of classic Russian novels. The film?s narrator (writer-producer Anton Pardoe) is never given a name, but he is given a quest: ensure the safety of his longtime love, Porphyria (Roselyn Sanchez), even if it means returning to the city where he is a wanted man. The lives of both the nameless antihero and the femme fatale are in danger as numerous assassins try to track them down. Gleefully dark and violent, THE PERFECT SLEEP also features the talents of Patrick Bauchau, Dominique Vandenberg, and Cameron Daddo.
| Features | As a man gifted in the art of killing, he may be the only one who can save her from the danger surrounding her. But lying in wait are lethal men who would like nothing more than to see him die a painful death. They are led by Nikolai (Patrick Bauchau, HBO?s Carnivàle, Panic Room, The Cell, Ray), the man who raised him and who may very well be his father. |
 | To protect Porphyria, the unnamed man will return to a life of torment and torture, facing off against a lost father figure and revisiting an existence full of people imprisoned by their desire, their history and their very blood. A world where the only thing keeping you from happiness is yourself - the world of The Perfect Sleep. |
