This is a "universal" tv/monitor mount, but when I got the item there were no specific instructions for my Sylvania 42" TV. Sylvania, of course, does not tell you on their TV package either that they recommend the use of a very specific mounting assembly which is not this one. So I open this package and there are lots of bolts and washers that appear to be for any possible situation and I match up the description of my TV to one that seems to be the most similar and I assemble it. The bolts didn't seem to be catching thread even though it felt like the TV was supported. It is a good thing I checked. That TV would have fallen right down at the slightest touch, possibly on top of one of my kids. I called the tech support line and got through right away but still ended up solving the problem myself basically. The TV is on the wall now and it looks like it is being supported properly. They should have a list of televisions for which this may not work or that they don't have the specs for yet. The first set of bolts the tech support department told me to use were the wrong ones also. Buy.com should have a rating category for "product as described" for which this product would receive a rating of just 1 or 2.

This product is Ok for the price, but placement is a little limited depending on where your studs are in the wall since it spans between only two studs. If you want your flat screen centered on a stud (mine worked out that way if I wanted it centered on the wall), this version will not work. I think they make a stronger version of this mount that can has a wider mounting base that can span three wall studs. Even if you don;t need the extra strength version, consider it because it will probably give you more flexibility in centering your screen. Pretty quick to install on the wall and came with well marked hardware (although mine was missing some). One nice addition would have been a paper 'template' to mark the holes on the wall without trying to hold up the heavy bracket (and keep it level) while marking the holes. Had I bought this at a local store, I would return it for the larger version, but I don;t want the hassle of returning it in the mail.

I purchased this bracket to mount a 50" plasma HDTV (Panasonic). Similar units available locally were absurdly priced (over twice the cost), with no advantages that I can see. Considered getting the non-tilt version for slightly less, but would strongly recommend against this for two reasons. The tilt feature is very handy for gaining access to the plethora of A/V inputs on the back of the TV; and on a plasma screen that reflects light from windows and room lights, the ability to change the tilt angle to eliminate reflections is important. The free shipping was fast. Packaging was perfect. There are mounting screws and bolts to fit literally hundreds of flat screen models. The documentation on which bolts to use for each model was very complete and easy to follow. The bracket is well built, of good design, and very sturdy. What more can you ask?
