On the air for six years, PEE-WEE'S PLAYHOUSE won 22 Emmy awards. A Saturday morning favorite of children growing up in 1980s, the show created a warm, magical world brought to life by actors Paul Reubens, Larry Fishburne, and Lynne Stewart among others. A bright, colorful set and a silly sense of humor made it appealing to children and adults alike; children delighted, for example, in trying to guess the show's weekly "secret word", which when disclosed, was shouted at high volume.
