Overkill? Probably, but for $135 you can't go wrong. Beware, it is long and may have trouble fitting in something smaller than a full tower - pull up the specs from OCZ's website and measure first! LOTS of connections, tough to find some place to tuck all the ones that aren't used. Runs quiet supporting 8800, Q6600, 3 HDs, DVD, + many fans (No OC though). WILL SUCK SMALL UPS DRY IN AN INSTANT! Old APC 500 was useless, upgraded to CyberPower 1350 (about another $135) and all is good. Only gave it 4 stars for ease of use because hiding all the extra cables took time. This product is certainly worth the price. I researched PSU's in depth and this was very highly rated. The first one I received did not work at all, but Buy.com was very fast to replace it and e-mail a UPS label. The manufacturer was helpful as well. I would count getting a defective one as a very very rare occurrence based upon all that I have researched. Don't let it sway you, the PSU has direct video card lines so you don't need adaptors, and many many hookups for accessories. I have a fairly high end rig and this PSU fits the bill (many fans and 8800 GT's in SLI). Was this review helpful?

I just got this power supply. It seems to be doing the job fine. However, I would like to let you know that this psu barely fit into my case. I actually had to put it in upside down. I hope this doesn't mess anything up. :) Waiting for my 9800gx2 to get here so I can test it out.

PCPC makes some of the very best PSU's. This is the kind of purchase that you make once and then transfer from build to build. You're just not going to find a better, more reliable PSU. The one gripe is the lack of modularity. The unused cables fold up pretty small, and I tucked them into the top empty 5" rack. Out of sight and not interfering with air flow. The finish on the psu is great, nice cabling. It really is quiet, too. Was this review helpful?

Enought power to run my Evga 8800gts super clocked gpu's in sli and then some.
