The album's lead-off single, "Doing Too Much," a gliding slow jam with a pulsing, hip-hop-flavored beat and sweet backing vocals that recall Destiny's Child, is an excellent example of what the artist does well. Yet Deanda's voice and lyrics add a bit of bite to the glossy R&B, and that distinctive twist, along with major label support (the artist is signed to Arista), make the singer a talent to watch. |
