After serving 15 years for a crime he says he didn't commit, Ben Jordan (Rutger Hauer) is released from prison. He soon falls in love with his social worker, Laura Matthews (Natasha Richardson), who believes he is innocent. However, as she pieces together the puzzle of the events on that horrible night, it does not add up. And someone begins to terrorize her in her home.

Plot Summary
A man is paroled after serving 15 years for murdering his pregnant wife. His social worker, in searching for the truth as to whether he was framed or not, falls in love with him and is, consequently, threatened by an unknown person who does know the truth.
