4 of 5 Good VERY Basic Monitor Color Calibrator Friday, November 06, 2009 Robert M from Chicago, IL
This is a very easy to use but VERY basic monitor color calibrator. It works well out of the box with minimal install time. (You have to install the software and restart the computer, but then it just works...) Just realize it only supports 1 monitor. You must download the pro version of the software ($40 from pantone) to use it on multiple monitors. Good for the price. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Not bad... Sunday, April 06, 2008 Bob T. from taylorsville
With monitor calibration being one of the most critical things you can do to help get an accurate image printout, this little gizmo does a great job. Understand, it is NOT the pro version so it's not going to do fine tweaks required for more technical setups. It does NOT do dual monitors. I teach still photography, and if you are just looking for a simple, pretty-darn-close-setup-tool, this is it. It gets you in the ball part for video editing color correction as well. Nice. Pantone Huey has been extremely helpful in setting up and maintaing color for photos on two display monitors on my system. It has improved consistancy with time. Was this review helpful?

5 of 5 Huey Monitor Calibrator Monday, March 31, 2008 Mark from Montgomery, Alabama
Excellent product. Works quickly and flawlessly. For the price, everyone (especially designers) should have one of these. I work with a laptop and a second lcd monitor. Color matching has always been a slight problem. Now they're amazingly similar. It also worked great on my crt at home. Was this review helpful?

This simple device makes calibrating a monitor as easy as plugging in a mouse and keyboard. The Huey calibrated my Samsung 245T in less than a minute after installation. They place the installation instruction on the outside of the package so you can't miss reading it while removing it from the packaging ;-) (Install driver first, then plug-in!). I was up and editing photos in Photoshop CS3 in minutes. The only negative is the very thin and fragile usb cable. The huey is connected to the usb ports on the monitor so, I use the included extension usb cable since I rotate my monitor from landscape to portrait mode for editing portrait images. The spin of the monitor without the extension cable could damage the fragile huey cable if care isn't taken. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Works and easy to use Saturday, March 29, 2008 A Customer from NJ
Very simple set up and operation. Performed it's task as expected. The windows tray driver/executable is fast loading and adds very little additional startup time. I wish there was better support for dual screens. With my system, the device calibrates one screen and the other monitor was matched to it manually. Overall I am satisfied with my purchase. 5 of 5 It really works! Saturday, March 29, 2008 A Customer from Tucson, Arizona
It almost works too well! Installed the software and calibrated my LCD screen in less than 10 minutes. It's perfect. Nothing left to do except let it readjust to ambient room lighting once a minute. Absolutely as advertised. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Great Value - bad for the environment... Friday, March 28, 2008 A Customer from VA
I got this to get my Acer 22 in monitor balanced for editing photos. It works GREAT! The only complaint I have is how much packaging this little item has. It came in a smallish Buy.Com shipping box - I opened it to find a plain black box about the size of a software box - opening that I discovered a clear plastic box the same size - it contained a retail box of the same size - instide that was a clear plastic sealed security box that, too, was the same size... Finally, opening that revealed the diminutive Huey. Boooo, Pantone. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 This product is AMAZING! Friday, March 28, 2008 Brian from Scottsdale, AZ
I have nevr used a monitor calibrator before and after using this I am hooked. It is simple to use with great step by step software. My dual 24" monitors are now perfectly matched which is something I would not do before and the reason I bought this product. If you want true colors out of your monitor I highly recommend this product Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Excellent Product Sunday, March 23, 2008 Gary from Salt Lake City, UT
After using Huey for a few weeks I couldn't be more satisfied with the product. It does what the manufacturer states it will do. Easy install. Unobtrusive operation. Great results. Was this review helpful?

I am a serious photographer and designer, and have always had problems getting a good match between my monitor view and printed outputs. The Huey seems to have fixed this issue! It is utterly simple to set up and use to calibrate your monitor, as well as to track room light levels and make adjustments to the monitor brightness on the fly if you turn the lights up or down. Took it out of the package, followed directions and this thing was up and running in no time. Very easy to use. I like how it constantly monitors the ambient light to adjust the monitor accordingly. Also gives you several choices to pick from on how you want the monitor to look. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 More than adequate Wednesday, November 28, 2007 TWM from near Atlanta, Ga.
As a professional photographer, it is important that my images are as accurate as possible, that my clients can see that accuracy and that they can use the images I deliver to them with confidence. I bought this strictly to test it out before recommending it to all my clients who are not calibrated. At $80 or less, it is a small price to pay for this peace of mind, considering the value that my clients place on, and pay for, their images. It works. Was this review helpful?

I eagerly awaited the Huey because the color in my prints does not match what I see on screen. It was easy to set up and use (though it did stop working and then start again), but the results are worthless. Using the correction for photos and web browsing, my screen has a pink cast and still does not match the printer output. I have recalibrated many times with the same result. I have tried varying printer profiles without success. I may well be doing something incorrectly, but they Huey is no help. Was this review helpful?

Huey is a great value and very easy to setup and use. It has made my monitor much more reliable for color matching. My only complaint is that it adjusts only one monitor. It doesn't handle dual-monitor systems--not even to adjust the second monitor by itself. Was this review helpful?

I have an Apple computer and there are some built in tools to calibrate the color on your monitor. I am telling you this product is much easier to use and gives you a better viewing experience. The only thing that sucks is to get any updates on the software (which you only really need if you are running the Windows Vista OS) you must register with Pantone. I didn't like that, but that doesn't take away from the fact that this thing is awesome. Was this review helpful?

Don't buy if you have a dual monitor setup. It will use the calibration off one monitor and change both. Not very useful if one monitor is a CRT and one is an LCD. Hopefully they will come up with a patch for this. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Good Overall, Mixed from Win to Mac Thursday, March 15, 2007 Vaughan from Little Rock, Arkansas
I first installed this on a 2.4GHz Gateway with a low-end Gateway flat panel. Worked ok while huey was allowed to autocorrect for ambient light. When I changed it to not autocorrect and disconnected huey, the screen turned very dark. To get close to correct I had to change the settings from Photo Editing to Bright/Warm. Still a little warm, but as I said, it’s not a very good monitor. At home, I connected to a G4 sawtooth upgraded to 1.8GHz with 2 gigs of RAM with a Raeon 9200 driving a high-end 37” Mitsubishi 1080p LCD HDTV, allowing it to autocorrect. In this configration, IT’S AWESOME!!! The colors are perfect and the ambient light autocorrection works perfectly. The room has windows on 3 sides and the conditions change dramatically from day to night. I may buy another one for the machine at work. Was this review helpful?

I have been very impressed by Huey. It was easy to install and calibrate. My photographs exhibit beautiful colors and rich shadow detail without being overly bright. I like it a lot. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 It's about time! Wednesday, September 20, 2006 A Customer from Lawrence, KS
It's so great that now even the less-than-rich can afford a color calibrator. The HUEY works great. It's easy and you can see the difference right away. It has a feature that lets you compare the corrected and uncorrected profiles.
It could still be a bit less expensive, but at least buy.com has good coupons! Was this review helpful?
