Excellent performance with this micro system. Stereo seperation is outstanding with the surround function engaged. The only drawback to an otherwise fine performer is the remote. It must be aimed directly at the unit in order to receive the commands from it which becomes quite annoying after a while. Other than that, a good choice. Was this review helpful?

I researched desktops units in this price range extensively before buying this one. I was mainly looking for radio, CD, and cassette capability, with a more sedate style than the all-plastic, lots-of-blinking-lights boxes that dominate this category. (I also wanted user-friendly buttons, since our last unit had 12 identical buttons marked with white 10pt type on a gray background.)
The good news: The main unit has big, well labeled buttons. Also a big volume dial with a very solid feel. It was easy to play music from my pc using the Music Port - just plug it in. The sound is great for a unit this size/price. Overall, I'm very satisfied with the main unit. My only complaint is that almost no functions beyond "play" are accessible without the remote.
The bad news: Don't lose the remote control instructions! (Which could also be a lot better.) Clearly, this remote was not designed for this product; Even basic operations may not be obvious to casual users, and you'll never figure out how to do most of the other stuff, like program radio stations, or set the time.
That said, I'm still happy with my purchase, and would recommend it to others. Was this review helpful?

Panasonic's SC-PM23 is simply a super value. If you're looking for loads of basic features in a small system, this one is worth your consideration. With the MP3 player capability and the audio input for your portable player, it is up-to-date, as well as providing for older media that many of us still enjoy. It's got the brand name, looks, sound, and features that will give the discriminating purchaser great satisfaction. I must have looked at every micro and mini system and couldn't find any that would better suit my needs and pocketbook. Was this review helpful?
